Waiting
I will not cling, I will not beg,
I don't have a possessive bone.
I won't keep you from anyone else,
And when you want, I'll leave you alone.
It's your happiness and wellness I want
With my every breath and heartbeat.
It's your laughter and joy that guides me
Through this magic fire and the heat.
I can handle the brief respite.
I will not cry when you're not around.
I love it when you're happy,
This love one of the best I've found.
So don't ever call me possessive,
For that is not what I want to be.
And when you're ready, I'm here,
Waiting for you to love me.
