The Tibetan Buddhists use the principal of sound to bring one's concentration into the present.
Tingsha Chimes are often used to mark the beginning and end of a meditation sitting by shifting one's awareness.
The dissonant sound (unlike the singing bowls and prayer bells) is so penetrating it is impossible not to focus on it.
The Tingsha Chimes are also used in many shamanistic rituals. The chimes are made of a complex bell metal alloy of bronze, iron and zinc.
All Tingsha Chimes come with a dispaly card with directions.
