Lay Your Head
Lay your head upon my chest,
and listen to your heart.
Feel the rhythm of the surf,
close your eyes to see the deepest part.
When two are one in these rare times,
It's worth a lifetime's wait.
It bonds our souls with every breath
a private place, beyond the garden gate.
The trees have never looked so tall,
the air so fresh and sweet.
As when our inner selves are bare
paradise lives beneath our feet.
The ground I walk has met my step,
a cloud now carries me.
The warmth of being next to you
has set my spirit free.
We come together, land and sea,
two very different souls.
Seemingly so opposite,
the shoreline makes us whole.
Yes I love to hear your voice
as we stroll along the beach.
I watch you move, I stroke your face,
as in my heart you reach.
I wish they knew this feeling,
The ones who don't yet know.
I'm not sure how they prosper,
I wonder if they'll ever grow.
The touch of you can be so soft,
a whisper in the breeze.
This love I cannot live without
That's why I'm on my knees.
