Siryn

In order to understand Siryn?s early childhood, one must learn a little about the history between her father, Banshee (Sean Cassidy), and her cousin, Black Tom(Tom Cassidy).

When they were younger, they both fought over a young woman named Maeve Rourke. Maeve fell for Banshee and the two were married. Sean then left because of his duties in Interpol and Maeve died. She left behind a child that Sean didn?t even know about. The child was Siryn. Tom took care of the child and raised her. When Sean came back and discovered his wife had died, he lashed out at Tom as he was about to tell him about his daughter (the incident led to Tom?s need for a cane).

Sean came back years later and tried to arrest Tom for his illegal activities, but Tom had placed Theresa in a private school and Sean still did not know about her. Tom went to jail, which is where he met his best friend and future partner-in-crime, Juggernaut. Theresa still believed that she was an orphan.

At private school, she had her first drink at the age of thirteen. She drank out of anger and fear and the reason that she knew it would anger Tom. When all the other students gave up drinking, Theresa kept on.

After Theresa had grown up and Tom had gotten out of jail, she joined him in his crime sprees until she left him behind and joined the Muir Island X-Men. When the Shadow King destroyed Muir Island, she fled to the United States and attempted to stop her cousin and the Juggernaut when they threatened to blow up on of the twin towers. It was here that she met X-Force and joined them.

She fit right in with X-Force due to the pain she had experienced early on. When the team was held captive in the Danger Room following Stryfe?s attempted assassination of Professor X, she and Warpath stole a copy of Xavier?s files.

Her alcoholism also resurfaced during this time and it slowly tortured Warpath, who had developed a crush on her. He helped her with her alcoholism, but she never returned the love he gave her.

Cable sent Siryn on a mission to the Weisman Institute to see why the program?s administrator hadn?t reported in with Professor X lately. She was institutionalized against her will and called Deadpool to get her out. After his assistance, she left him there. She was then appointed deputy leader of X-Force.

When Warpath started a relationship with the mysterious Risqué, Siryn started liking Warpath even more. When he was betrayed by Risqué, Siryn helped him cope much like he had with her alcoholism.

Cable then left the team under her care and the team has since relocated with her as deputy leader.

During a battle with a newly formed group of Hellions, Siryn?s vocal chords were sliced by her former teammate Feral. She was flown to a nearby hospital by Sunspot, where it was found out that her powers and ability to speak could be gone forever.
