Prologue Part 1

A steel girder tore through the air, striking a security booth, inside of which sat two MPs. Upon hitting the booth, the girder ripped through it as though it were nothing more than a piece is paper. The soldiers inside died almost immediately, the girder having caused internal and external hemorrhaging. Those deaths were the first of the day, and most certainly would not be the last. A man garbed in red and purple floated past, magnetic energy crackling around him.

The place: Cape Citadel, Florida. Amid murky swamps and humid heat was this place, a place which signified humanity's tendency to reach for new heights. Underneath this place, however, laid a powerful nuclear arsenal, one vast enough to cripple an arsenal, one which also signified death. Above this arsenal, a mutant, gifted with the ability to control magnetic fields.

Mutant, Homo sapien superior, a species of its own tucked away within another species: Homo sapien. Mutants and humans - the same, yet different in their own rights. Mutants are each given some extraordinary power, while humans are, quite literally, normal. Because of these differences, humans hate mutants out of fear. And mutants hate humans, out of a feeling of superiority.

Magneto, as a mutant, represented this overzealous goal of mutants ruling humans. He *knew* that, biologically, mutants were superior to mutants. However, in the social hierarchy, the human beast still reigned supreme. Magneto would change that.

Some distance away, in Westchester New York, Professor Charles Xavier sat with his five students. He looked around the room, noting their unique powers: Cyclops, who can fire beams of concessive force from his eyes; Marvel Girl, who controls objects with her telekinesis; Beast, whose agility is unmatched; Angel, gifted with flight from his bird-like wings; and Iceman, the youngest of them all, who has the ability to freeze objects. Xavier thought about the power the five of them held, and how they could help him to complete his dream. However, his time for thinking was short, as an announcement went over the radio, making known an attack on a military base at Cape Citadel.

The announcer on the radio mumbled a quick message, saying, "Some sort of attack on Cape Citadel by someone calling himself 'Magneto.' It appears that this Magneto has somehow erected a magnetic field around the base. It is believed that he is a mutant, but it is uncertain at the current moment. We'll keep you updated as the situation progresses."

Xavier looked at the five students, and said in a commanding voice, "This is the day I knew would come, my students. A day in which certain mutants would attempt to take power for themselves, by using their powers for evil."

Within minutes, the X-Men were suited up in their blue and yellow costumes,
ready to go fight this evil mutant. Soon after, they were in Xavier's mentally
controlled Airplane, headed for Cape Citadel, Florida.
