Jim has short brown hair. Or at least today he does. There's no accounting for tomorrow. He is seen by many as the teen heart-throb of the band, and indeed already has a fanclub in Germany. He's the one who doesn't sing. Ever. At all. Even in the shower. Well, maybe in the shower. He has extensive experience of being in bands. This doesn't make him a particularly good musician. It just means he knows when to keep his mouth shut. And he doesn't really know when to do that. His first brush with musical stardom was in 1996 when he wheedled his way on stage to play keyboards with Orpheus, the band that was to become Juno-2. Following that brief appearance he went on to play guitar with The Rock Fags - a bedroom collaboration with a bassist and drum machine that never really got anywhere - this was put down to an excessive amount of apathy on the part of both human members. The drum machine however, is still making music, and enjoying every minute of it.
A move to York saw a return to keyboards as Jim joined the embryonic Evil Fish - A group with more than enough ambition to make up for any shortfalls in talent. Regulars of the York University circuit, the Fish never failed to raise a smile. Sometimes even laughter. After a visit to Newcastle and a chance meeting with metal monsters Fowl, Jim joined them to play a short set at the Tut'n'Shive. It just so happened that the newly renamed Juno-2 were supporting Fowl, and had just decided they needed a keyboardist; lo and behold jim was roped into helping out. The link was re-established and the existing four members of J-2 decided they wanted to make Jim the 5th a short time later when they supported Stonysleep at the Black Swan in Newcastle. Now a full-time member Jim plays keyboards and occasional bass and guitar with the group. He is currently writing his own electronic-influenced material as Katy Without and learning to hit things with his newly acquired drumsticks.
