TEEN BEAT: How did you decide that "Love Sensation"
would be the first single?
911: I think we just listened to our record
company. It's on the Casper video, and we thought all the
kids and teenagers would like it. It was good timing.
TEEN BEAT: Tell us how old you all are.
JIMMY CONSTABLE: I'm 21 years old.
SPIKE DAWBARN: I'm 20.
LEE BRENNAN: I'm 20.
TEEN BEAT: What music has influenced you guys?
911: Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, New Edition, anything
really.
TEEN BEAT: We hear you get mobbed by fans in other
parts of the world!
911: Yes - it's enjoyable! It was kind of scary when
we did a few shopping malls in Malaysia because we never
knew anybody knew 911. We didn't take any security guards
with us, and there were thousands and thousands of people!
We had to juggle the security guards out of the mall to get
us out of the place. We went there thinking, nobody's going
to know us, and just as we got there that day our album had
gone up to number one there.
TEEN BEAT: What are the 911 fans like?
911: They're great! We're very grateful to them
because we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. Even if
we're doing a place where we're not known, we get fans who
follow us and give us support.
TEEN BEAT: How do you feel reading about yourselves
in magazines and newspapers?
LEE: I always like to see what's been written about
us by all the different journalists. It makes for interesting
reading.
TEEN BEAT: What's been the highlight of your career
so far?
JIMMY: There's been so many. There's not one specific
one, but I guess knowing that our songs have entered the
Top 40, performing on the Radio 1FM summer roadshows and
meeting loads of nice people are some of the highlights.
TEEN BEAT: What amusing things have happened to you
on the road?
SPIKE: I could write a book about the amusing things
that happen to me on tour but I always find getting stuck
climbing through hotel windows funny!
