Cat and Dani's Phone Poem
ducks under computer table, waiting for sky to fall
wishin that she'll be able, to quit waitin for his call
handcuffed to her telephone, why can't he leave things alone
she loves him on her own, but all he hears is a drone
"oh this sweet love of ours", waitin for him till midnight hours
bell atlantic knows her well, the busy signal, the dreams that fell
Mass confusion
Wait for me
ill meet you there
some where in
a never where
time is pointless
never comes
running blindly
working drones
hurry faster
never stop
all so we can
appear on top
stop to say
what you truly feel
caution warning
may make you reel
pause a moment
smell the roses
dont strike up
untruthful poses
never hurt to
stop and stare
if your love
is standing there
I tell you now
dont give up
maybe someday
you'll catch up
but for now
go seize the day
tell him how
he's in your way
for your flies
bitterness is always best
learn the truth
forget the rest.
I pricked my heart on a rose last night,
The card said it was from you.
As I lay drowning in my blood,
I only cared 'bout you.
I lay there vulnerable,
And then you came and saw,
Instead of helping me get better,
You leaned over and closed my eyes.
Oh, yes, I opened them too late,
To late to save my soul from drifting,
Drifting into this black abyss,
Yours was a poisoned kiss.
I pricked my heart on a rose last night,
and I bled midnight black.
And as I lay there dying,
I only wanted you back
On my crippled fingers you stomped
As I stretched out my hand,
crying out for help.
Wanting some one to care.
For years I blocked out love,
It had always brought pain.
This time was going to be different,
I wouldn't be stung.
And for a glimpse of your smiling face.
I blocked out the painful truths,
That in the end came shining through
But then it was too late
I pricked my heart on a rose last night
And drowned in my bitter blood,
For inside the rose I thought so sweet,
Lay the truth I never knew
I pricked my heart on a rose last night
And saw truth while I died,
For all the superficial you
Lay the cruel soul inside
A friend is someone you are close to. Because of this
you will sometimes step on their toes,
And they will forgive you.
A friend is someone who is close to you. Because of
this they will sometimes step on your toes,
And you forgive them.
A friend is someone you are close to. Because of this
you will sometimes trip on your own feet to avoid
theirs.
A friend is someone who is close to you. Because of
this they are there to catch you when you fall.
A friend is someone who is close to you. Because of
this they will sometimes trip on their own feet to avoid
yours.
A friend is someone you are close to. Because of this
you will help them back to their feet.
