Neon Lights Go Out and We Go Out With Them PART 6 (Final- Second Betrayal) by V-Star ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Escaping the bounderies of Rocket HQ, I walk slowly down the streets of Pallet Town. Can't stop wondering what damage I did to Ketchum residence. Head down street to the house. Forgive my stilted speech. Passing it, I see that the windows have been fixed. I walk up to it, examining how well it the repair person works. Dencent job, and glancing in through the window, I see that the glass has been cleaned up. Guess I am just lucky that the Ketchums weren't home. I wouldn't want to hurt either of them. As I am just passing the doorway, Mrs. Ketchum opens the door. She notices me, and smiles. Make conversation. "Nice weather, huh?" I ask, pleasently. I am in disguise, so she can't see the Rocket shirt. She nods, pleasently, as she sweeps dust out and off the doorway with a worn broom. She herself looks to be in her forties. I don't even know my own mother's age. "Very nice. I hear lots of new trainers will be starting their journeys today." she says, calmly, smoothing her shiny brown hair with her worn fingers. She is obviously aged with the tires of raising a family. Particularly when one of her children has been missing and her other son has left long ago. "You seem familiar." she says, laying the broom across the ground, and sitting on the step. I sit next to her. "Do I?" "Yes....why?" she asks, running her smooth palms acroos her forhead, removing sweat. "Maybe we've met before." "Have we?" "I belive we have." "Your voice sounds familiar to me....who are you?" "Let's just say that I'd rather not share that. Guess." I say, teasingly. She thinks for a second and nods. Then, she points to my Pokedex which is sitting in my pocket with surprise. "Where did you get that?" she asks, a look coming to her face which is a mixture of shock and confusion. It is the same as the one I had before. "Uh..." I can't think of anything else, I clutch at my jacket, hiding it. She stands up, as do I, whilst I bakc away. Stupid stupid....I've given it away.... "You...you...you...." she says, as the door behind her swings open. It's Ash. "Who is it Mom?" Mrs. ketchum ignores him, she is still stairng at me. Ash notices me and recognizes me. "Hey!" he shouts, as I turn and run. Stupid stupid stupid!! I am such an idiot.... "Hey...you....Gary!" my mother shouts, as I run away into the distance. I hear a voice coming from the house. "Mom, I'm calling the police!" it says, way behind me. I run up the hill and hear voices blur around me. I am escaping....hopefully..... Running as fast as I am in front of Viridian Forest. If I descend into those woods, I could be caught. I turn back. No place to go. My body is rigid. I am afraid. I am afraid. I need to be held, to be okay again....then, a sentence pops into my head... it repeats itself, constantly. I hear sirens screaming up the road, I am crying. Officer Jenny's stop in front of me. I back up, and drop tp my knees in pain. My vision is blurred by tears. I can barely see. Next thing I know, I am being ruffly treated and being read my rights as I am loaded onto a motorcycle. I am not strong enough. I cry as hard as my vody will allow. But crying isn't nearly enough. I am in pain. I want to die. The sentence appears again. A poem that dosn't ryme. I must be going crazy. The poem repeats itself. Longer now... We are attuned to our lives and others...we control our fate.... We are summoned by future...like the pearly gates.... If we slip it may be our fault...it may be someone else... But everything presents a choice...the counsiquences felt.. My life is like a domino..the effect of loosing big.... It crumbles in my mind and goes.....I can't feel anything... Light is the pathway to goddness....like a sparlkeling gem... When Neon lights start to go out, we will all go with them.... THE END ***************************************************************************************************************************** ~Epilouge #1~ Ash Ketchum opened the door to the building inhaling sharply. He walked down the hallway, hoping he'd be let in. Misty walked beside him, almost in tears. Officer Jenny came over and shook their hands. "You did the right thing, calling us. Lucky we were close by." the young cop said, comforting Ash and Misty. Ash nodded. "How is he Officer?" "He's been out of it for a few days now. He won't wear the prison uniform, only that Rocket outfit. As if that made it better. He just sits there, talking to himself." "Is he...okay?" Misty asked, feeling a sense of personal loss. "He will be. Don't worry, we're giving him the best treatment we can." she said, going to answer the phone. As she did, As turned away and sobbed. "Ash, don't worry, he'll-" "It's not that, Misty. No wonder he dosn't trust me." "But you did this, it's best for him!" "No it's not, you don't understand. Almost 13 years ago, I betrayed him. Just a week ago, I did it again." Walking from the Police Station, Misty and Ash descended down the street drawing stregnth from eac other, praying for Gary's recovery, and Ash's forgivness. And so turns the wheel of life.....the puppet's strings are cut...and it begins again.. the innocence, lost. The lives, changed. Love and Hate, all together. There is no escape. END
