  THE EXORCIST SPECIAL EDITION- is a truly frighting movie even by today's standards. DVD details:The movie is in Widescreen format with 5.1 dolby digital. The video is very sharp and the audio is excellent. This 25th Anniversary DVD features a 75 minute documentary produced by the BBC,audio commentaries,interviews,production sketches,8 theatrical trailers,& 6 TV spots. 122 mins. rated:R Bottomline:A great classic bone chiller and a great DVD makes this a winner.

  TOTAL RECALL- a very good sci fi flick that has a few unexpecting twists starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The story is interesting without getting boring and the special effects are cool. The picture & sound are both great. The DVD has both Widescreen & Standard formats,5.1 audio,cast & crew bios,theatrical trailer and teaser,and production notes. It is kind of a skimpy DVD with a few features, so buy it for the story. 113 mins. rated:R Bottom line:excellent sci fi movie with loads of action but don't expect many features.

  National Lampoon's Vacation- a very funny comedy starring Chevy Chase. This one always makes me laugh after a bad day, it's a classic story about a family going on vacation and everything goes very wrong. The DVD's picture is pretty good (not as good as expected though) & BE WARNED:THIS DVD IS IN STANDARD FORMAT ONLY. The limited features include prodution notes and theatrical trailer. 99mins. rated:RBottom line:with very little features buy it for some laughs.

  EVENT HORIZON-a great combination of sci-fi and horror. The movie is set in the year 2047 and the research ship Event Horizon had vanished years earlier- until now. When a team is sent to investigate the ship, an evil force threatens to destroy them all. The movie has awesome special effects combined with some very spooky sound effects (Dolby digital 5.1). The picture is very sharp & colors are excellent. The only disappointment was the features, which is only a trailer. Widescreen. 97 mins. rated:R Bottomline:get it for the special effects (if you can stand the gore).
  

  The Thing Collectors Edition-classic horror movie about an alien buried in the snow for 100,000 years that finally thaws out and creates terror for a 12 man research team in the Antarctic. A chilling movie w/excellent monsters. DVD features:commentary w/Kurt Russell & director,an 80 minute documentary,never before seen footage,work in progress effects footage,behind the scenes footage,trailer,outtakes,photographs,and art,5.1 dolby digital,& widescreen. 1hr 49min rated:R Bottom line:overall an outstanding DVD - GET IT!

  Ghostbusters Collector's Series-comedy classic now on DVD! Excellent picture & sound! Features: "Live" video commentary (1st DVD which has this feature),storyboards,production photos,deleted scenes,1999 featurette,original featurette,trailers,special effects documentary,before & after special effects (multi-angle),production notes,5.1 audio,widescreen. 107mins. rated:PG Bottomline: If you like this movie it's even better on the digitally remastered DVD!

  Frankenhooker-Ok, I know this is one of those cheesy, horror/comedy flicks but it does have it's moments. The story: a mad scientist's fiancee is accidentally run over by a lawnmower and he plans to bring her back to life by reassembling her from parts of hookers! FULL SCREEN FORMAT ONLY. Features are only some movie factoids and 2 channel audio. 82 mins. rated:R Bottomline:Definitely not for anyone, but its wacky enough to make it a one of a kind movie.

  Troma Team DVDs-I recently had a chance to aquire a fairly good size collection of DVDs from Troma and I have to say I'm impressed! These DVDs are LOADED with features, especially the Directors Cut versions which includes feature length commentary by the director,lost scenes,interviews,original trailer,movie stills,introductions,intelligence test,and more! Now, before you rush out and purchase some of their movies there's something you should know, especially if you haven't seen a Troma movie. Troma is an independant movie studio located in New York City producing low budget movies that contain (for the most of them) EXTREME violence,nudity,and things done in bad taste. So,if the things I mentioned does not offend you, you'll have a great time watching their movies! Some of their more well known movies are The Toxic Avenger (pictured),Class of Nuke'em High,Bloodsucking Freaks,& Redneck Zombies all are available on DVD. FULL SCREEN FORMAT ONLY. 2 ch.audio
