Previous Julia's Corners From October, 1998 Hi! Welcome to my world. In this month's issue of Poetic Illusions, I'm going to say a little bit about what I'm doing here, and all that. Let's see... There are a few different parts to this section. The first (from how I've listed them) is this one. Here's my place. I'll do what I want. Check here monthly for my comments on what I've put up, my comments on poetry and writing, neat news that I might have on poetry, and my own poems. The next part has the showcased poets. In each section I hope to have one contemporary poet who you could actually e-mail if you wanted to and one of the great poets of all times. If you're very intersted in being a showcased poet, submit a lot of stuff. I want at least three poems for every showcase, and will probably need more as I'm remarkably picky. After that my favorite poems that have been submitted for the month will be on display (I'm not certain how many, probably 5-7) in the poetry section. I'm looking mainly for dark poems that ooze blood, that sort of thing, but, so long as it's not cutsie, typical religion stuff, things like that, it has a chance of being there. The last section will have reviews of various poetry pages. I will not only give good reviews, I will also give bad reviews. (which are far more fun to give, anyway) If you want your page reviewed, just drop me a line. I will not, however, promise to give a good review, so beware. *manical laughter* To start this off, I want to share with you my first, serious, adult poem. Or so I call it, adult, even though I wrote it at thirteen. I call it adult because I have been writing, often, in a similar style ever since. Dark Magician I do not try to stop him, I reach out softly to him, Dreaming drearily of the day I will awaken, no more. - Soft, unspoken caresses, Gentle, savored kisses, Deliberate, slowly turning into something more. - Moonlight; raining; falling; flowing; Touching; sensing; stirring; Loving; burning; knowing of what was before. - Fantasy unfurls, Color blinding, darkness binding, Leading to a world I had never known before.
