Ahh, I'm pleased that you could join me. Please make yourself to home, and rest those weary cybersurfing fingers...
I would endeavor to answer any question about me which crosses your mind in the hopes of sharing with you, Weary Traveller, a bit of myself. I hope to entertain, amuse, and please you with my ravings, that you may leave this place refreshed and revitalized.
Currently, I am 30 years old. I live and work in my castle in Los Angeles, California, in the area know as Mid-City. I have lived in Burbank most of my life, which is a sleepy, little suburb, desperately trying to become something more. A lot has changed within it's boundaries over the past 26 years, and it has pleased me to watch my hometown grow and prosper.
For my own part, I was born Adam Aurele Fortin in Northridge, California to Denis and Linda Fortin on November 4, 1970. They brought me here to Burbank to teach me the ins and outs of the world in the best way they knew how.
My parents have since parted company, and gone their seperate ways. This caused a great deal of chagrin to a small, 5 year old boy. Nevertheless, in my process of maturation and growth, I have come to see the wisdom of their actions so long ago. My Mother still lives here locally, and my Father lives in Searsport, Maine. There has been a lot that has happened to me over these 30 years that has made my life in turns poignant and bountiful.
Two gifts became apparent early on in my development: A command of the English language, and an aptitude for working with anything remotely electronic.
My Writing, has been described as heartfelt and emotional. Some have said I possess the ability to envelop the reader in the story being told. Owing to the lack of warning inspiration gives, both in onset and ebb, I have never gone in much for story writing. I have written a scant few, and they have been enjoyed by close friends. I daresay that if I could control the inspiration, I would be fairly good at writing stories, but I shall leave that to the people with the patience for such things. Poetry is generally what flows from my pen. Felt and experienced before ever being committed to paper. For the most part, joyous and warm; in rare instance, dark and cold. Poems and songs are my biggest and best gift to those I truly care for. It is the only way for me to really give a little of myself to the recipient.
I have always written about the things that have upset me through the course of my life. In many cases, I found my writing to be the only way to purge the feelings. It would give me no greater pleasure to be able to reproduce a copy of this journal here in it's entirety, but alas, some portions of it have been lost with the passage of time. Besides, I don't think this realm's provider's generosity extends to that much space. :)
Regardless, within these pages, you will find My Study, reproduced in as much detail as possible. It contains copies of the writings that have remained intact through all this time. I invite you to peruse these documents as it suits you.
I have been married, and divorced. I have two wonderful children, that are the biggest motivators in the progression of my life. Their names are Nikolaus and Airik (that's pronounced like "Eric").
The following picture is almost two years old now, but it's the most recent one I have. I expect to get some more after Christmas, and I'll always update them. The older one is Airik, and the younger one is Nikolaus.
Here are my most recent pictures for your consideration:
Music, is probably one of the most important things in my life today. There is very rarely a time that I can't get into some form of music. Please visit The Royal Minstrel for further sojourns into the spirit of music.
I love the outdoors, and have a deep respect for nature. Being a California native, I grew-up primarily around the beach. However, being a Vampyre, you'd never know it. I, unlike most, had all forms of nature at my disposal; mountains, desert, and ocean. I found there was nothing better than climbing rocks at the beach, hiking to the top of the highest mountain, or beholding the vast emptiness of the desert as the sun slips below it's horizon. Being raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, my love for nature grew, and flourished.
I've always been one to keep in shape. I used to bicycle ride 70 miles per day, 3 times a week, when I had the free time. Now, work takes up most of my free time, as well as work time. Fortunately, I love what I do. I am truly gifted in that I love to create, and that is a good portion of my work. Please visit WebWonderWorks for more information on what I do.
I would describe myself as a hopeful romantic. Most of my poetry is centered around love. There are a couple that come to mind that are rather bleak, but they are the exception rather than the rule. I am a rather extreme person in my feelings. Especially relating to other people. I owe that to the Scorpion in me. Responsible also for the fiery passion I display in everything I do. Even so, I care for everyone the same. I am always willing to lend a sympathetic ear when someone has a problem, no matter how small. I seem to have an inate ability to make people feel better whether they want to or not.
My parents didn't raise me in any specific religion, so I have been free to hunt down the truth by myself. I believe I have come up with a pretty good theology. Works for me, at least. In the interest of keeping the peace, I won't go into all that here.
My fascination with the occult has also led to some rather strange experiences. I do card readings when the mood strikes me, and have a better than average system of my own witchcraft. A blending of many different theologies and systems.
I am also a game player. I love games that beat my brain into the ground. Logic puzzles and strategic challenges. Currently, I'm working on VTM: Redemption. I've already completed Burn:Cycle, Myst, Chaos Continuum, Hexen, Heretic, Doom, Quake, MechWarrior2, and Ghost Bear. There are links for a couple of these games on my links page. There are also a couple of links to game library sites on the Web there.
Now that you know a bit more about me, please feel free to explore the rest of my realm as you will, and thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me.
