Mud Puddles

Mud Puddles
By: Prince Trystan

The raindrops fall, creating puddles
Each drop rippling my mind's dark muddle
Gazing out from behind my pane
Wondering if I'll ever be sane

Looking up and appealing to God
To take some time and dry the sod
But the raindrops still continue to fall
Without a break, without a stall

Pitter-pattering all over the land
Making mud from all the sand
As if by some dark witch's spell
We're cast into this dreary hell

I look again toward the sky
Where clouds amass and start to cry
They open once more and release their tears
I haven't seen the stars in years

Twinkling somewhere above the clouds
Somewhere above those dark, full shrouds
Until they decide to disperse
I'll have to live under this dark, wet curse

Someday my God will finish His storm
The day outside will start to warm
'Till that day, I'm locked inside
The only place that's safe to hide

Thinking of those outside in this
Sorry for those denied my bliss
Of cuddling up safe and warm
Who have to be out within the storm
