Sadness
By: Prince Trystan
Special Thanks to Joe for inspiring this piece
Dreams dashed upon the rocks
Prayers gone unanswered
Tears flow silently and invisible to most
Pain held inside
Hopes tottering on the edge of loss
All I see is blackness
To make the effort and be hurt again
Is too much for this soul to bear
Wallowing in the depths of sadness
Feeling the tide of hopelessness wash over me
Tell me why. Tell me why.
Should I risk the dream one more time
And lose it all to innocence?
"No touching, stroking, or fondling...
Strickly looky-looky..."
The story of my life
More pain and anguish than and heart can bear
The only hope held: That throwing myself from the nearest cliff
Will, at least, bring results
Not wanting to give up what was never there
From the start
Only obsessive delusions of Want, Need, and Desire
Unfounded, and unreciprocated
"Do not go gently in to that good night..."
Stomp so loudly the world can hear
Not for me --
Not again
