Forbidden Explanations

by Brian Matthew Kessler

You fear me. Have you ever stopped to wonder why or have you just decided that I give you the creeps and you don't want to be around me. I will tell you why you fear me and you won't admit it to be truth because you can't because it is the truth that you truly fear. This is the truth that you do your best to hide from. To build your forts to keep it out. This is the truth that deep down you know but you can never allow yourself to know. It is the truth of your own significance and of your own insignificance. It is the truth of your bondage and your freedom. It is the truth.

I offer the infinite freedom you so desperately want. I offer to unlock the shackles you try to tear from your own wrists and ankles, but you refuse me; for you fear the one who binds you, not realizing that the only true binds are those that you allowed to be put on you by a society of mere mortals and that the only key to unlock them is in your mind. My only role is to let you know this. But of this you may have known already, you are just too affraid to use the key.

I also show you that your sins are not the result of your being human, but of being yourself. And yet I tell you that these are not sins. I show you that if you really wanted to, you can easily lead a clean life, the life of a saint. This is the life you say you want but can't have because you are human. It is the life I have and you don't want because you are human. It is the abscence of obsession and the completion of indulgance that I have, while you insist on living in the shadows of obsession and abstanence and the hypocracy of indulgance.

I am the saint who tells you there is no sin. And this you fear. For you need your rules because you do not trust yourself.

So you build a fort to keep me and the likes of me out. It is an ugly fort and this you know, but you dare not let me in. But ever in my presence and I begin to corode your fort and it begins to crumble down. And this you fear. But you should fear it not. You must crumble this fort in order to make room for the glorious castle. But this you dare not think about. You dare not place yourself in the position of the king. For the king answers to no-one, but you must answer to your God. But you fail to realise that your gods are only manefestations of yourself and that you only hide behind the gods that the others will accept, not realizing that they are hiding too.

Tear down your forts and butchers these gods that hold you back and would dare to place you in shackles. Remove the chains and declare yourself free, for that is what you truly are. Become who you want to be and let none, for they are all as mortal and as fearful, hold you back. For only you are your god and only you should you worship. Only you should you allow to limit yourself. Only you.

This is only a glimpse of the truth you fear, but you call this lies because you fear it so. This is your own choice. Do not blame this on your gods, your captors. Do not blame this on me, for I am truth and in truth there is no sin. Do not blame this on your parents, they are not you and they are not of you, they are only of your past and they had no right to sell you into service of your god. Do not blame your priest; he is the blind fool who couldn't deal with his own significance in life or insignificance in the universe, so he turns his life over to the myth.

Yes, I do say we are insignificant, for we are only gods of ourselves and of no others, lest our followers be fools, who would dare to worship a god who is as mortal as themselves and can offer no true salvation. There is no salvation from death. There is only foolish pipe-dreams and worm food. The only salvation is from yourself, the source of the gods who tie you down. I show the only path to true salvation, but only you can grant it to yourself. This is the truth you fear.

So continue to fear me and continue to call this lies, for you have given yourself no choice and you are to stubborn to chance your mind. So be stubborn and punish yourself, for you punish no other. Avoid me as you will, you only avoid the truth. Cast me aside and try to knock down my castle, but you shall see that my castle is stronger than your fortress. But you too can have a castle, but you will never be able to build it, lest you take down your fort and open yourself to reality.

The truth is not yet complete, for it is never complete and it is never completely true, but it will have to suffice, for I do not claim to know all the truths, only to spread that which is truth and discredit that which is false. For I am truth and truth you fear and as long as you fear truth, you will fear me.
