Good Samaritan Laws
The United States of America should adopt Good Samaritan laws, in which one would be legally required to render assistance to another in trouble (whether direct or indirect). I feel it is the responsibility of all humans to help the rest of their society. The goodness of man can be measured by how well he or she serves his or her society. If you are not helping to solve the problems of society, you are contributing to them. Therefore, not only should you not get away with leeching society's benefits, but also, you should be punished for causing problems.
Under this law, there should be no danger in helping people. You could go to a safe area (assuming you are not already in one) and call 911. This would be an indirect means of helping someone and you would not endanger your own life. It would take very little effort, and laziness should not be an excuse to leave someone's welfare in jeopardy. The call could be anonymous, to protect you for the
criminal(s) if you felt that it would be necessary.
