Chapter Four

Sari woke up from her sleep. When she and Tatsuya had come back 
from the ice cream store they had met Seiko and the others in the 
apartment. He had not spoken or looked at her for the whole day. 
She had angrily stormed into her room and cried herself to sleep 
only to wake up the next day. 

Sari groaned and looked at the time eight o’clock. She groaned louder 
she was late for school. Slowly she stood up and got ready. 
‘I might as well go.’ She thought. 

Amika, Seiko, Sumino, and Yuuho turned to see Sari come out of her room 
in her school uniform tired. “Hi.” Came from her in a weak voice. 

“Whoa, you look dead.” 

“Feels like it.” She whispered while putting her shoes on. “I’m walking.” 

“But you’re already ten minutes late.” Yuuho protest. 

“Who gives a damn?” She walked out of the apartment almost slamming the 
door. “She forgot her lunch she made.” Amika acknowledged as she looked at 
the bag sitting on the counter. Suddenly the door opens and Sari came in 
and took the bag while muttering. “What’s happening to me?” She yarned before 
closing the door. 

“Wow.” Was all Sumino said he had never seen her like that. He turned to 
Seiko and noticed the guilty look on his face. “I told you, Seiko.” 

“Go and talk to her. You completely ignored her yesterday.” Amika said. 
“If you continue like that you’ll lose her for sure.” 

Gathering his keys he stood up and put on his shoes. “Thanks.” He said 
before closing the door. They all shook their heads as they sighed.

Sari was walking with her head down as her head swam with an answer for 
Seiko’s behavior lately, she was so much in her thoughts that she didn’t 
even realized that a black Mitsubishi Spyder was by her side. 
“Come on I’ll give you a ride.” A voice brought her out of her thoughts. 
Startled she turned around and saw the handsome face that had been putting
her through all the pain. “You coming?” 

Sari turned back around and continued her walking. “Leave me alone.” 
She whispered. 

“Sari please get in the car. You’re going to be late.” Seiko pleaded. 

“I _said_ leave me alone. You’ve caused enough pain as it is.” She yelled 
and started running down the street. Seiko watched her run with a regretful 
expression on his face. “Sari I’m sorry.”

Sari walked into her class breathing hard. All eyes went on her as she 
gave a slit of paper to the teacher. The teacher nodded and Sari walked 
to her seat silently. Tenshi, Takiru, and Matsao looked at her with worry 
as they saw a single tear run down their friend’s face. Sari sat on her chair 
and bend down on her desk, she folded her arms on it and buried her face. 
She sat like that for the rest of the period. 

Tenshi looked at her two friends who looked at her with the same silent 
question written in their eyes. ‘What happened?’ 

At the end of the period everyone was out of the class except Sari and 
her friends. They had told the teacher that they would take care of it 
and she left to go grab something to eat. Tenshi tapped Sari on the arm 
but she didn’t budge. “Sari? Sari come on, what’s wrong?” She gently 
shook her friend. 

Sari stirred. She had fallen asleep. She felt someone shaking her and 
slowly she rose. “What?” 

“Sari, what happened?” Matsao asked 

She looked at them confused at first not remembering anything when she 
did she gave them a smile, not wanting them to worry. “It’s nothing really.” 
She tried to stand but Takiru gently pushed her back down. “You’re lying.” 

Sari looked at him startled. “I’m fine.” 

“No you’re not.” 

She glared at him and pushed him back. “I said I’m fine!!!” She 
screamed and ran out. 

“What happened?” Matsao asked bewildered at Sari’s actions. 

“I don’t know but I’ll be back.” Takiru ran after Sari. 

Both Matsao and Tenshi looked at each other worried and walked out 
slowly thinking of what could have happened. 

Takiru caught up with Sari and stopped her before she could run further 
away. He pulled her to a corner where no one could see them. Turning her 
to face him in a swift move that their bodies were almost touching. 
“What’ s wrong with you, Sari.” He asked repeating his question. 

“Nothing is…” 

“Stop trying to fool yourself.” He cut her off harshly. “Or me.” 

Sari just stared at him. “I almost got jumped coming to school.” She lied 

“Didn’t Seiko drop you off.” Takiru asked slightly confused and very worried. 

“No, he didn’t.” 

Takiru moved his face closer to hers. “Are you ok?” 

Sari could only nod, before Takiru kissed her. Her eyes were wide with 
surprise before she closed them and gave into the kiss. A picture of Seiko 
flashed into her head and she pulled back. “I…I can’t do this.” She pulled 
away from his embrace. 

“Sari I’m sorry I didn’t…” 

“It’s ok.” She looked at him, ‘I’m already taken.’ She thought with a sad smile. 

School ended and Sari saw Seiko’s car parked. She noticed a lot of admires 
but she didn’t care. ‘He’s probably inside.’ She walked up to it and 
hesitating before she went in. 

“Hey.” Seiko said. He was happy that she had taken his offer. 

“Hi.” Sari whispered, she didn’t look at him through the whole ride. 
The silence was awkward and eerie. 

Takiru, Tenshi and Matsao had seen her go in the car with the most hesitant 
and hurt look on her face that they felt sorry for her even though they 
didn’t know what was going on. “Come on.” Takiru whispered to his friends. 

Sari noticed that they weren’t going to the hotel and the look of confusion 
was set on her face. “Where are we going?” 

“The others said we should meet at a restaurant. Hope you don’t mind.” 

“Of course not.” She said and went into a silent mode again. Seiko sighed 
he didn’t like it when she was like this. ‘Is she this heart broken because 
of me?’ He wondered. 

“Why?” Came a soft yet broken whisper. 

“What?” Seiko looked at her. 

“Why did you do it? I thought…” 

“I have my reasons.” 

“But you…I thought…” Her fist tightened. “We’re truly over?” 

“Yes, you can do whatever you like.” 

“Are we there yet?” 

“Almost.” He sighed inwardly. ‘I’m so sorry Sari.’

“We have to find her.” Tenshi said in determination her body shimmer and 
she was now seventeen-years-old. 

“We know, but how? We don’t even know where she is or who she is.” An older 
Matsao replied. He was older than Tenshi and Takiru by a year. 

“Do you think it’s her?” She asked him 

“There could be a possibility.” 

Takiru was sitting by them in a restaurant not really listening. He thought 
of the short kiss that he had shared with Sari. He smiled a bit before it 
vanish completely. ‘What did she mean she couldn’t?’ He raised his head up and 
saw Sari and a group of people walk in. He signaled the others to what he 
was looking at. “There she is. Hurry up and see if she’s the one.” 

“Tenshi.” Matsao whispered when he realized she wasn’t doing anything. 

“It could hurt her.” Tenshi whispered. 

“Tenshi do it now. It’s the only way.” Takiru ordered. He was the only one 
not changed. 

“Fine.” 

Sari was about to sit down when all of the sudden a huge blast exploded in 
her mind. She fell to her knees as she screamed the most painful scream she 
could ever scream. Everyone turned to her in alarm and Seiko was by her side 
in an instant only to be blasted back when dark rings encircled her body. 

“Oh no.” Aya whispered as they all looked in horror at the screaming girl 
on the floor. They didn’t realize that everyone in the restaurant had run out. 

“It’s her.” Takiru whispered while his friends looked in awe at Sari.

“Sukio, she’s…no.” Hana whispered almost crying. 

“Shh…it’s ok. Let’s go.” Sukio said and with that they disappeared.

Sari was in great pain as her body was growing in an alarming rate. Her 
hair grew longer past her waist and down to her knees. Her beauty 
intensified ten folds. When she stopped growing she looked the age seventeen. 
She lay unconscious in front of the small crowed the dark rings remain 
and grew darker and evil. Seiko slowly got up dazed. He didn’t know what 
hit him. When he looked at Sari he almost collapsed again, but instead he 
ran to her. 

Sumino quickly stopped him from coming any closer to Sari. “No.” He uttered 
emotionless that it surprised Seiko. “But…” 

“No. She’s not what you think.” 

“What do you mean?” 

“He means that she is…” A voice boomed and they all turned to see Takiru 
with Tenshi and Matsao behind him. “The Child of the Dark…our mistress.” 
He raised his hands up as if he was carrying a person in them. Sari disappeared 
and reappeared in his arms as he grew to his normal age. 
“The one we’ve been looking for.” 

“Sari!!! Give her back!” Seiko screamed as he tried to get out of Sumino’s grip. 

Tenshi laughed amused at the performance. “Not a chance.” Her eyes gleamed 
with hatred towards him. “You were the one who hurt her, you shall be the one 
to pay when we meet again. Smooches.” She disappeared with the others. 

Sukio and Hana appeared just in time to see the three of them disappear with 
Sari. “No Sari!!!” Hana yelled as she collapsed on her knees.
