Child of Light, Child of Dark Chapter Six For the past few weeks Tatsuya and Sumino had been training Seiko in becoming a warrior. Fortunately he was a fast learner. He had declined at first not wanting to be involved with any of it, but changed his mind when Aya told him it was the only way to get Sari back. He trained hard and in a few weeks it was worth all the pain and hardship. They trained on the roof where no one came. Seiko went into Sari’s room that no one had dared entered since she had left. He looked around and sighed. He sat on her bed and held the stuffed black bare he had given her one-day. He remembered how her eyes sparkled with joy and how she would sleep with the bear all the time. After a while he had envied the bear. He chuckled. “Oh Sari. I want you back.” A tear dropped from his eye to the bear’s nose. “I miss you.” Undime moved from the door and leaned on the wall. She was about to walk in but stopped when she heard Seiko. ‘Poor Seiko…’ She sighed. ‘Oh Sari, where are you?’ “Undi, what are you doing?” Yasha asked as he leaned lazily next to her. Startled Undime turned to face him her hand lashed out towards him but before she hit him he caught her hand. “Oh Yasha I’m so sorry!” “It’s alright.” She then frowned. “Don’t scare me like that doofus!” She yelled at him before she turned around only to scream in surprise as she saw Seiko there. “Seiko!” She sighed and held her heart. “I swear I’m going to die from a heart attack.” “Did I scare you?” Seiko asked with a slight grin. Undime glared at him when she got the joke. “Shut up!” She stomped to the kitchen leaving a laughing Yasha and a confused Seiko. She saw Tatsuya in the kitchen cooking and smiled. “So you do all the cooking?” She asked. Tatsuya turned around and saw it was Undime. He smiled but quickly as it came it was gone. “Yea, the others can’t cook to save their lives. Except Sari and Aya, we used to alternate.” “You need help. I thought Sari how to cook.” Undime offered as she stood by him and leaned closer to the pot. “It smells nice.” “Thanks. You can help if you want. Could you hand me those spices on the counter, please?” “Sure.” She smiled and made her way towards the counter unaware that Tatsuya was discreetly looking at her. “Here you go.” She handed him the spices. “You know for someone you’re age you don’t act it.” He quietly said. Undime blushed a little. “Well like I said before we are still considered children in our race. Teenagers to be exact. Just think of me as an eighteen year old.” “You mean an eighteen year old with a fourteen year old child.” Tatsuya corrected. “Weird huh?” She giggled. “Yea. So why do you disguise yourself?” “What, would want me to be walking around with a fourteen year old, still looking like I can be her sister?” She cocked her head a little she giggled lightly. “I guess you have a point.” He brought up a spoon to her face. “Taste this.” Undime did what she was told and her face lit up when she tasted the sauce. “That’s really good.” She whispered. “What did you put in it?” Tatsuya grinned. “That’s a secret.” She rolled her eyes but still smiled. “Whatever.” *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Sari!” Tenshi yelled at her friend as she chased her out of her room. Matsao and Takiru looked up just in time to see Tenshi about to grab Sari but Sari moved away in a blink of an eye and Tenshi fell on her butt. “Sari!!!” “Sorry.” Sari said with amusement. She turned to the guys with a grin. “You would never guess what I just found out!” She exclaimed. “Don’t say it.” Tenshi covered Sari’s mouth with her hand. The guys looked at them with an eyebrow up. “She ate too much sugar, whatever she says it’s a lie.” Tenshi laughed nervously. “I didn’t eat too much sugar!” The raven girl yelled as she slapped Tenshi’s hand off of her mouth. “And you liking Ma….” Tenshi’s hand flew back on Sari’s mouth preventing her to finish. “Who do you like?” Matsao asked a bit angry which caught Sari’s attention she grinned behind the hand. “Some guy excuse us.” She pushed Sari back in the room. “What were you thinking?” “Oh come on Tenshi, you have to come clean sooner or later.” “I’ll settle for the later ok.” She said annoyed. “When are we going to strike them Sari I’m tired of sitting around.” She sighed. Sari grinned. “As soon as their guards are down to they’re lowest then we strike.” “You are wicked.” Tenshi laughed. “I like it.” “Come on lets go to the guys.” Sari said as she opened the door. Both girls went out and towards the guys. Sari went to Takiru’s side while Tenshi stood somewhere in the mist of the others. She ignored the glances she was receiving from Matsao. “So what’s up?” Sari asked she sat very close to Takiru. In the weeks that had passed Takiru had gotten Sari to liked him a lot but she wouldn’t admit. She would just flirt with him. “Nothing much.” Takiru looked at her with a smile. “So Sari when are we moving in.” Matsao asked. “As soon as their guards are down to their lowest. Unless you guys are to impatient to wait another day or two we can go now.” She grinned “No we can wait. After all we follow you not the other way around.” “Right Taki.” “Really.” “Uh-huh.” She kept teasing. “You two love birds quit it.” Matsao ordered slightly. “Let’s get out of here.” “Alright where do we go?” “Why not the movies?” Tenshi suggested. “Lets go.” They grabbed their coats and left. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* After lunch the group decided on going to the movies. They reached the theater and froze when they saw Sari walk out of the building laughing. She wore black tight leather pants with a mid-drift and black high heels boots. “Did you see that?” They heard her ask. “Yea, come on lets go.” Matsao said. He and Tenshi walked past them not even noticing them, followed by Takiru. When Sari past by them something shocked her and she turned to stare at them, her eyes scanned them until it fell on Seiko’s eyes. An evil grin flashed on her lips before it vanished. “Sari come on.” Takiru stretched out his arm to her. She quickly mouthed the words ‘I’ll get you.’ She ran to Takiru, taking his hand and resting her head on his shoulder. “Taki could you buy me some ice cream please.” “My pleasure Sari, my pleasure.” Was the last thing they heard when they both disappeared from their views. “Sari.” Seiko whispered. He looked over at Undime and bit his lip. He could tell that she was fighting not to break down and cry right then and now. ‘It’s hard on her…hell it’s hard on me!’ “Come on.” After the appearance of Sari time seem to drag for them. They watched the movie but not with much attention. They focused more on how they were supposed to fight Sari. She was innocent in a way. They didn’t know what to do and that’s what irritated them. It was nighttime and Seiko had gone up to the roof of his apartment. He couldn’t sleep. His mind won’t let him rest. He thought of her, her hair, beauty, and her gorgeous blue blues that seem to be taunting him everywhere he went. Finally her lips that he had never touched, they all hunted him in his dreams. He blamed himself for everything that had happen to her, thinking that if he hadn’t made her think the engagement was off she would’ve be in his arms now and not in Takiru’s. “Oh Sari…I’m so sorry.” Silence reigned for a long time as he continued to stare at the stars. “Seiko.” A voice whispered. “Seiko.” It sounded like it was close by. Seiko turned to his right, but he didn’t see anything. “Seiko.” The voice whispered again. “Sari is that you?” He asked out loud. “Seiko.” He turned around to look for the owner but he didn’t find one. “Sari?” Giggling could be heard in his ears, “Seiko.” “Who are you?” He was getting angry. This person was playing with his head and he didn’t like it. “Come out!” “Oh Seiko.” The voice was more clear and radiated amusement. “You’re such a fool.” Seiko turned around and saw Sari standing a few inches away from him. “Sari.” Was the only thing he could say. She was breath taking. Her body had matured to a full-grown woman’s body. Small waist, long legs, and a full bust. A perfect size three. Her long black hair was tossed slightly by the wind as well as her long white almost see through dress. “Are you just going to stare like that the whole night?” She mocked Seiko shook himself mentally. “Sari, where have you been? Father said you wouldn’t remember anything?” “Well, Yasha underestimated me.” Her voice was full of anger almost hatred. “I’m staying with Taki and the others.” She frowned at him. “You know Taki really takes care of me. He doesn’t tease, mock or make me cry like you do.” For a brief moment her eyes showed sadness. “And here I thought you cared for me…” “Sari I did…do.” “Which is it? Did or do?” “Do…” “Then why the break up? Why the sudden change of heart? Why the need to hurt me?” Her voice grew darker with every word that it scared Seiko. When he was about to answer she cut him off. “Never mind. I don’t want to hear your pathetic excuses.” Her eyes glowed. “I was naïve then when I was fourteen. Would have did whatever you’d asked me, probably would have given myself to you…you know love can be really tricky. If your not careful it could burn you, well that’s what happened to me.” Seiko looked at her unbelieving. This was the same girl that did everything in her power to nag and whine every time he’d asked her to do something. The same girl that would pull back when he got close. Now she was saying she would have done _anything_ he had desired. He couldn’t believe it. Sensing his doubting she looked him straight in his eyes. “Ask Tatsuya if you think I’m lying.” She growled. “ The next time I see you prepare to fight cause I won’t hold back and neither will my guardians.” In a flash she vanished. “Sari wait!” But it was too late she was already gone. *~*~*~*~*~*~* Sari appeared in her room in the apartment she shared with her friends. “What are you doing here?” She asked when she felt someone in her room. She turned on the lights and looked at Takiru “You went to him didn’t you?” He asked as he stood up from her bed and stood in front of her. “Why do you keep going there every night?” He asked as he caressed her cheek. Sari leaned her head towards his hand that was on her cheek. “I can’t forget Taki. I still love him.” “But he hurt you Sari.” “It doesn’t matter…I can’t forget…”She looked up at him with tears. “I’m sorry Taki.” “You know I hate it when you cry.” He kissed her eyelids, and made his way to her ear. “I can make you forget, Sari.” Before she could say anything he kissed her deeply. Sari’s eyes were wide with shock, but slowly she slid her arms up his arms and around his neck as she closed her eyes. She knew this was wrong but she couldn’t help it he knew what buttons to press to get her to cave. She deepened the kiss hesitantly and felt his hands snake their way around her small waist, pulling her closer to him until there bodies were touching. Sari broke the kiss and placed her head on his shoulder. “Taki…you know…” “Shh…Sari please, you don’t need a guy that always hurts you.” “He doesn’t and you know it. Taki this was a mistake,” She looked at him as she cupped his cheeks. “You are too loyal to him.” He whispered. “If he hurts you again you know I’ll deal with him. With or without your permission. I just hope his worth all this pain. Good-night Sari, sleep well.” With that he left. Sari sighed as she fell on her bed. Turning off her lights she fell asleep. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Seiko burst into a room in the morning, he ended up scaring the red-hared guardian. “Seiko what the hell is wrong with you?” Tatsuya yelled. “What did Sari tell you?” “What?” He asked confused and surprised. “What are you talking about?” Seiko closed the door and told him everything that had happened on the roof last night. “Is what she said true or not?” “Yes it is. She always came to me with things like that.” Tatsuya calmly said. “Why didn’t she come to me? Why didn’t she tell me?” Seiko asked Tatsuya raised an eyebrow as he looked at his leader, “With you ignoring and teasing her?” Seiko just sat there on the bed with his head in his hands. “This is all my fault.” He whispered. “If I didn’t make her think the engagement was off.” “You did what??!!” Tatsuya looked at him with shock and anger. He and Sari were the only ones who didn’t know about Seiko’s little test. “I made her think the engagement was off. I wanted to see what she would do without being bonded to me. If she would have staid or gone with someone else.” Seiko explained looking down. “That was smart Seiko.” Tatsuya sarcastically spoke as he rolled his eyes. “Didn’t you think when she was upset and crying about it that she loved you then and now? Why else would she have been so heartbroken. You really blew it this time. I girl could only take so much.” “I know.” Seiko sighed miserably. Tatsuya looked down at him with sympathy. “It’s really killing you isn’t it?” He asked and watched as Seiko nodded. “So you do love her?” It was more of a statement then a question. “With all my soul.” Came back a whisper. “Don’t worry we’ll get her back.” “I hope so Tatsuya, I really do.” *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Amika walked down the hall thinking why Sumino hadn’t spoken to her since Seiko had awoken. ‘Did I do something wrong?’ She asked herself. ‘What happened? Why isn’t he talking to me?’ She passed his room and kept walking. The door open behind her and Sumino saw her walking way from his door. He quickly grabbed her pulling her into his room, making her scream in surprise. “Sumino don’t do that!” He grinned at her as he closed his door to his room. “Did I scare you?” He knew she would never admit it. “No you surprised me.” She turned to sit on his bed. “Sumino what’s going on? You haven’t spoken to me in almost two weeks.” “I’m sorry, I was thinking of something.” He brushed the bangs that had fallen into her eyes. “I didn’t mean to worry you.” Amika looked up and stared into his blue eyes. “It’s alright…kiss me Sumi.” She said. Sumino leaned down and kissed her with everything he had. Amika slowly stood up and wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him deeper in the kiss while he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. A short but sweet moan escaped from Amika’s lips. They finally broke for air and Amika hugged him. “Love you.” “Love you too Ami.” *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Tenshi was in the kitchen cleaning the dishes they used for breakfast. It was her turn to do it. She brushed her hair away from her eyes in frustration. ‘Why can’t I just tell him?’ She thought. “Damn it!” “What now?” A voice asked from behind her. Tenshi turned around startled. Soap water dripping from her fingers to the floor. “Matsao!” She turned back and finishes rising the last plate. She cleaned her hands and took off the apron. “Nothing.” She quickly said and headed for the door. Matsao quickly grabbed her arm and made her face him. “What’s wrong with you and why are you avoiding me?” “I’m not av…” “Don’t even try and lie to me.” He whispered a little to harshly. Which in turn made Tenshi glare at him. “It’s not your business. I can avoid anyone I want too. So step off.” She yanked her arm out of his grip and pushed him a side. She walked to her room and slammed the door. Matsao opened it and walked in. “Don’t you know how to knock!!!” “Yes. Who is this guy that you like?” He asked “What are you my brother now? It’s none of your concern.” She glared at him but he didn’t flinch. “No I just want to know.” He looked at her straight in the eyes. “Do I know him?” “Actually you do.” Tenshi answered as she tucked her hair behind her ear. “Why won’t you tell me about him. I thought we told each other everything.” He accused her. Tenshi angrily looked up at him as he accused her and without thinking she said. “How am I suppose to tell you when you’re the guy!!?? So don’t you dare accuse me.” She screamed. Matsao looked at her for a second, surprised and shocked. She was blushing furiously when she had realized what she had just said. She turned her back to him expecting him to leave but he didn’t. He went up to her and whispered in her ear. “I like you too.” Tenshi turned to him surprised that he would say that before she smiled at him. “You wanna give it a try?” He asked her. “Yeah.” *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Undime where’s my father?” Seiko asked as he entered the leaving room where the others were. He still found it hard looking at Yasha and Undime the same ever since the explanation a month ago. It was weird having a father that looked your age. “Why are you asking me?” She grumbled. “Dumb ass is somewhere here.” “I heard that.” A low unhappy voice was heard. Yasha appeared by Undime glaring at her, but she looked the other way. “What is it?” He asked as he looked at Seiko. “Could I speak to you in private please?” Seiko asked. Yasha only nodded and followed his son into his room. “Undime what did you do?” Aya asked curiously. Undime grinned and was about to say something when a bucket appeared over her head and the next thing she knew, she was drenched in freezing water. All present had to fight from laughing some even bit their knuckles. Undime on the other hand was fuming with anger. You could literally see smoke coming out of her head. “Ya…SHA!!!” She screamed as she stood up. Yasha poked his head out and stuck out his tongue at Undime then went back in. “ugh I’m going to get him…I swear I will the baka.” She grumbled. Waving her hands in a graceful manner her clothes dried so did her hair. She turned to the soaked couch and did the same thing. She sat back down crossing her legs and folding her arms as she curses Yasha in whispers. “Well never mind.” Aya said *~*~*~*~*~*~* “Okay what is it? Is something wrong?” Yasha asked as soon as he turned to face Seiko. “It’s about…this whole thing.” Seiko sighed while running his hand through his hair. “Could you explain that?” Yasha asked with an eyebrow up. “It’s about me fighting with Sari.” He turned around and walked to the chair that stood by the window. “I don’t think I can do it.” “Seiko I know you love her but you have too. If there was another way…” Seiko turned around. “There has to be another way. There’s always another way in doing something.” He frowned. “I won’t touch her father. I won’t lift a finger on her.” Yasha frowned at this. “Then you choose to die.” He spoke harshly. “Sayari won’t hold back even if she loves you, get that through your head Seiko. If you don’t fight then you will die.” “Then let me die then cause I won’t fight. I’ve made up my mind.” “Then you’re a fool.” Yasha calmly said. “I didn’t choose for this to happen it was destiny and you cannot escape from destiny.” “Perhaps I can’t, it doesn’t matter. If you call not fighting against the one you love foolish then that is what I am. I don’t think you would have went through it if you were in my place and mother was in Sari’s place.” Seiko glared at his father. “Don’t bring me or your mother in this, if you don’t fight Undime said she would fight to get her daughter back. Sari will either die in this fight or she will be put back to normal. Those are the only two choices we have. Don’t think I’m heartless Seiko because I’m not. I don’t want to do it either but what ever will save this world from destruction like our home I’ll do it.” “But father I…you can’t please.” Yasha turned his back away. “I’m sorry my son.” With that he left the room. Seiko looked at the door before he fell to his knees. Suddenly the look of determination replaced the look of hopelessness. ‘I’ll protect you no matter what Sari even if it means betraying my friends and…my father.’
