Child of Light, Child of Dark Chapter Eight “Seikoooo.” The scream echoed through the street of where the battle took place. Sari rushed to him as he started falling. She caught him and tightly, protectively encased him in her arms as she descended to the ground. She laid him down gently, as the tears poured from her eyes. Quickly she checked his pulse. “Taki, someone please help me!” She franticly screamed. “He’s not breathing!!!” Undime, Yasha and Takiru rushed forward. Takiru took her away will Yasha and Undime quickly went to work on him. “Seiko I’m so sorry hang on please.” Undime whispered as she held out her hands over Seiko’s chest and a white glow engulfed them both. Slowly His wounds healed but he still didn’t wake up. Undime stopped glowing and looked at him, he looked as if he was just sleeping. His wounds and cloths were as if they were never damaged. She looked at Yasha who looked at her. “I’m so sorry Yasha. I didn’t think he would jump in.” “It’s ok…you didn’t know” Yasha checked his son’s pulse. He could feel tears gathering in his eyes. ‘Please Seiko.’ He thought. Takiru held Sari as she cried with all her heart. “His dead…it’s all my fault.” was the only thing she said until she collapsed to her knees. “Seikooo!” She screamed. “Seiko.” Aya whispered as she watched the scene in front of her with tears. “Brother.” The clones of Tenshi vanished. All warriors put aside their difference for once as they watched the scene. They all looked at each other not knowing what to do. They all snapped when they heard a scream and looked at Aya. She was on her knees looking at Seiko on the ground. “No, brother!!!!” Yuuho ran to her and held her while the others looked stunned at what she had screamed. “This was futile.” Tenshi whispered. “We could have settled this without fighting but we didn’t and it cost a life.” “Wait we don’t know if he’s dead yet.” Amika spoke. Sari was exhausted she fainted in Takiru’s arms. He picked her up in his arms and turned around to face everyone else. “Let’s go somewhere else we…” He stopped when he heard Yasha say something. “Seiko.” Yasha whispered. Hope filled him when he felt a weak pulse from his son. “Seiko.” “What is it?” Undime asked. They all gathered around him. “He’s still alive. We got to get him to a hospital fast.” He picked him up and they started to run towards the hospital. As they did they all changed into their civilized clothes. Seiko was immediately taken into the emergency room and they waited in the waiting room. Takiru was thinking about Seiko’s sacrifice and he knew that he loved Sari. He always did, he just didn’t want to see it. He sighed. ‘What have we done?’ Hours later Sari had woken up. She sat in a corner with her feet to her chest. Takiru went to talk to her but she wouldn’t say a word. “I’ll get you something to drink.” He left. Undime watched her daughter and a tear rolled down her cheek. Yasha wiped her tear and whispered in her ears. “Go talk to her.” Undime stood and slowly walked up to Sari. She stood in front of her for a couple of minutes before Sari noticed she was standing in front of her. She raised her head to look at her mother in the eye. “I’m sorry.” She whispered. “I didn’t know this was going to happen. I’m sorry.” She broke down crying. Undime quickly knelt down by Sari and embraced her as she whispered soothing words to her. The others watched as mother and daughter reunite. Takiru comes back with a cup of cocoa. “Sari.” He whispered. Both Sari and Undime look up to see Takiru with a cup of cocoa and a small smile. “Here.” Sari reached for it as she thanked him. “Excuse me. Is this group for Seiko Morino?” A doctor wit short black hair and glasses came into the waiting room. Immediately Sari stood up and went to him. “Yes we are. Is he going to be fine?” “Well, you see he…” “Yes or no.” Sari demanded. Undime pulled her away. “I’m sorry my d…sister is just very upset.” “It’s alright Ms..” The doctor said with a small smile. “Seiko is fine. He just needs a lot of rest. He’s in room b408…” As soon as he said that Sari and Aya ran towards the room leaving the others behind. “Dr. when can he come home?” Yasha asked. “In a week. We want to keep him here just encase something happen. He appears to be healing in an alarming rate. Hearing this Yasha and everyone else grew relieved. ‘That’s my boy.’ Yasha thought. “Do you know where his parents are?” Dr. asked I like to tell them about this. Everyone looked at each other a bit nervous. “Um… his father’s on the way.” Sumino quickly said while Yasha excused himself and walked outside of the hospital. Minutes later Sukio entered the room. “I heard what happen! Where is he? Is he alright?” He asked a bit frantic. Everyone hid a smile as they watch Yasha play the doctor for a fool. In b408, Sari and Aya walked in the room quietly and saw Seiko on the bed sleeping. Sari went to sit by his right while Aya sat by his left. “Seiko.” Sari whispered as she ran her hand through his hair. “I’m so sorry.” Silent tears fell from her eyes. Aya watched as Sari buried her face in Seiko’s shoulder as she silently cried. “You love him.” She spoke. “You love my brother, don’t you?” Sari immediately looked up at her in surprise. “B-brother?” “Yes, I’m his younger sister. He and my father Yasha don’t know about it. I always kept an eye on both of them never leaving one out of my site. Mother wanted to tell father but things didn’t work out as she planed.” Aya looked at Seiko. “She died when I was five. I lived with other relatives until I could support myself on my own. I started dating Yuuho when I was fifteen. I had no clue that he was friends with Seiko or even leaving with him until he introduced me to him.” “Are you going to tell him?” Sari asked as she dried her tears. “No, I’ll wait until the time is right.” She stood up. “I’ll go tell them his alright, I’ll leave you two alone.” Aya walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. Sari looked at Seiko. “You shouldn’t have stepped in the way. I could have blocked it.” She continued to stroke his hair gently. “Child of Light and dark, who would have believed such opposite would attract each other, even fall in love.” She looked at his hand and held it with her free hand. She kissed it and looked back at him. ‘Seiko.’ *~*~*~*~*~*~* Aya walked into the waiting room where she saw everyone. “Seiko’s fine. He’s sleeping right now and Sari’s with him.” She walked towards Yuuho and sat by him. “Can we see him?” Amika asked. “Yeah,” Aya answered “C-could we s-see him too?” Tenshi asked hesitantly. Matsao and Takiru were by her sides. Everyone turned to them shocked and surprised for a while. They didn’t think that they would care about Seiko’s health or not. “Why don’t we…” Sumino started as he stood up and faced Takiru. “Just forget about what happened and call it a truce?” He held out his hand towards Takiru who looked at him quite shocked. He looked at his comrades for any suggestion. “Kiru, go.” Tenshi urged him. Takiru turned to face Sumino and shook his hand. “Deal.” “Let’s go.” Yuuho said. He held Aya by the waist as she leaned on him. They all walked in the room and found Sari sleeping on a chair facing Seiko who was still sleeping. Undime got an extra cover from the shelf and placed it on Sari, She brushed her bangs away from her face. Sari stirred and slowly opens her eyes. “Mother.” “I’m here.” Undime whispered and watched as Sari closed her eyes again and fell back to sleep. “So what do we do now?” Tenshi asked as she looked over Sari. “Well there are two choices.” Sukio started. Once he gained everyone’s attention he continued. “I can put you four back into fourteen year olds with no memory of what you really are, or you can literally stay eighteen and seventeen and forget about what happened.” He looked towards Takiru, Tenshi, Matsao and the sleeping Sari. Takiru and his friends looked at each other for a while and at Sari. “I don’t think we would want to grow up all over again.” Matsao said. “We’ll stay this way and move on up. You have our word we won’t start anything.” Tenshi added. “But there is one thing we ask.” “What?” Tatsuya asked “That Sari continues to live with us.” Tenshi simply stated They all looked at Undime for an answer. She looked directly into Takiru’s eyes. “As long as you take care of her, I’m fine with it but you should ask Sari not me.” A low moan was heard and they all turned to see Seiko waking up. “God what hit me?” He whispered as he held his head and ran his hand through his hair as he slowly open his eyes. He found himself looking at a white ceiling. “Where the hell…” “You finally woke up.” He heard a voice “Huh?” He looked around and saw eleven familiar faces. “Hmph.” He whispered in a sleepy voice. “How are you doing?” Undime asked as she stood next to him. Seiko looked at her and smiled a small smile. “I’m okay.” He looked worried for a moment. “Where’s Sari?” Sumino smiled. “She’s right next to you.” “What?” Seiko asked and turned to his right where he saw Sari sleeping on a chair. He looked at her for a while before he turned way and closed his eyes. “I’m so tired. Where am I anyway?” He looked at Sukio who was grinning. “Hospital.” Was the only thing he needed to say to Seiko before his eyes went wide and he sat up quickly. “Hospital?” He was about to get off the bed when Undime stopped him and forced him down. “Undime let go.” “Sorry kid but you need to stay.” She was almost laughing while the others were already laughing. “But I don’t like hospitals.” He was about to stand up again but Undime laid him down. “Like I said sorry kid.” Seiko muttered under his breath about things being so unfair and how much he hated hospitals. “Don’t worry you’ll only be staying for a week.” “A week!!! No way!” He almost shouted, remembering Sari was still sleeping he lowered his voice. “Father get me out of here. I know you can do it.” “Not this time. You took a powerful hit. Just stay here ok?” He changed back to Yasha and stood up. “We’ll be going now.” He walked out of the room followed by everyone else except Sari. “Great just great.” “Seiko.” Sari’s voice was low and soft. He turned to see her open her eyes. They both stared at each other, no one making a move. Sari stood up, tears gathered in her eyes as she walked closer to him. “I’m sorry Seiko.” Three tears fell and rolled off her cheeks. “Hey don’t cry.” He whispered as he wiped the tears from her face. He smiled a little and sat up. “Why did you do that?” She asked him. Seiko just stared at her and shook his head. “I don’t know my brain most not have been working.” He teased but Sari didn’t see it as a joke. She lowered her head as more tears escaped. “I’m sorry.” Her voice sounded as if it was going to break into millions of pieces. She turned to leave but Seiko caught her hand and yanked her to the bed, where she sat very close to him. She looked at him surprised. “I was joking moron.” He whispered. Their faces were only and inch way. He leaned in and kissed her so soft and passionate that Sari immediately responded to his touch. She buried her hand in his hair pulling him closer and deeper into the kiss, while he had wrapped on arm around her waist. They both broke the kiss and Sari buried her face in his chest as she silently cried out of joy. Seiko rested his chin on her head and closed his eyes. They sat that way for a long time. “Sari.” He whispered. “Yea?” “Don’t EVER do that again, got it?” “Yes sir.” She laughed and he joined her. Outside the room Takiru, Tenshi and Matsao stood. They smiled as they listened to the laughter inside. “Looks like she’ll be staying with him.” Tenshi said. “Seiko…you win.” Takiru whispered before he stared walking away. Tenshi and Matsao followed. With ever step they took their bodies faded, until you couldn’t see them at all.
