Child of Light, Child of Dark 2 Chapter One ----------------------------------- Weeks past and Seiko had gotten out of the hospital a day early. He was so happy that he didn’t have to eat the hospital food anymore or sleep on the uncomfortable bed. He had staid in his room and pigged out for almost a whole day. Sari had moved back in and was surprised that her room was untouched. She found everything where she had left it last well except for the teddy bear that Seiko had giving her. She had decided to stay the age seventeen so it wouldn’t feel to weird like when she was fourteen. Undime and Yasha agreed and they went back to their homes. Tenshi and the others never lost contact with Sari. They hung out together many times. “I’m going out!” Sari yelled over her shoulder as she grabbed her jacket and ran out the door. “Where is she going?” Seiko asked as he looked at the door. “I don’t know,” Sumino shrugged then grin. “Maybe boy hunting?” Amika and Tatsuya grinned as well. The four of them were the only ones in the leaving room, the others had gone out. Seiko glared at him. “Very funny.” “Tatsu?” Amika called as she turned to him. “How come you don’t have a girlfriend or anything?” “I don’t want the trouble, yet.” He shrugged, as Amika glared at him. “If my memories are correct weren’t you flirting with Undime?” Seiko asked as he grew a wide smirk. Tatsuya stood up. “Just because I don’t want one doesn’t mean I can’t play around.” He winked. “I got somewhere to be, see you guys later.” Seiko, Amika and Sumino looked at where Tatsuya used to be in surprise and shock. They never thought in a million years that he would do or say anything like that. I mean he is the quietest out of all of them! “Did he just say what I thought he said?” “Yup.” *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Yuuho, do you think I should tell him?” Aya asked. They both were sitting down on a table eating a burger inside a fast food restaurant. “I can’t make that decision for you Aya. I’ll tell you this though, if I was him I would want to know.” Yuuho looked at her. She hadn’t touched her food since it came. “I don’t know what to do? I don’t know how he would react if I told him-- that’s what scares me the most.” She sighed. She took one of her fries and ate it. “What if--” “Hey,” Yuuho leaned forward and grasps her chin on his hand. “There’s no what ifs, ok? Don’t think that way.” He looked her straight in the eyes. “Tell him on his birthday, it’s only tomorrow from now.” He saw the hesitation in her eyes, “Hey come on. I’m sure he would love the news.” “You sure?” “Have I ever let you down?” Aya giggled as she slightly shook her head. “No---no you haven’t. Thank you Yuuho.” “Let’s go.” He stood up as he placed money on the table for both of their foods. Aya stood up and arms in arms they left the place. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sari ran down the mall and immediately stops at a store and went in it. “Hey isn’t that Sari?” Tenshi asked as she and Matsao were passing a store on the other side. Matsao turned to look at the store and saw Sari buying something. “Yea, probably buying some kind of jewelry. I wonder who’s it for?” “You mean you don’t know?” Tenshi looked at him shocked. “She’s been talking about it for two days now.” “What is it?” “Tomorrow it’s Seiko’s birthday.” “Ohhhhh” “Yea ohhh” She rolled her eyes. “Hey, I didn’t know.” Matsao said defensively “Sure you didn’t.” “I swear!” “Oh shut up and kiss me.” She pulled him by the collar of his shirt; brought him down and kissed him. “You guys get a room.” An amusing voice called out. “And here I thought you didn’t like each other like that.” “Oh shut up Sari.” Tenshi whispered as she broke the kiss. “So, what did you buy lover boy?” “He had his eye on this watch so I thought why not let him have it for his b-day.” She shrugged. “You guys coming?” “We’re in invited?” Matsao asked incredulous. “Yea, if you do come, come around 5:00.” Sari started running. “Gotta go.” “That’s a shock.” Tenshi whispered. “You wanna go?” “Not really, I mean it would be too awkward.” “Come on Takiru is waiting.” Matsao pulled Tenshi way. They walked up to the fountain until they found Takiru with a woman. “Kiru.” Tenshi called. She turned to the girl and grinned. “Been a while.” “Sure has.” The girl said with a playful grin. She wore her red hair in a single ponytail and her green eyes filled with mischief. “Where’s the child?” “With Seiko.” Matsao answered. The girl frowned. “What she doing with the enemy?” “She loves him.” Takiru whispered. “And they are not our enemies anymore. There’s a truce between us. No more fighting.” He looked at the girl. “And Sari won’t allow anything to happen.” “What? When did this happen? We are supposed to be fighting them not holding hands!” “Look Sasha, as long as Sari is involved with Seiko we can’t attack. A deal is a deal, we can’t do anything.” Matsao whispered. “If you attack I swear I’ll make you regret it, got it.” “Yes, brother.” Sasha sighed in defeat. “Come on lets go.” Takiru whispered. “Alright!” Sasha grabbed his arm and held on to it. “Sasha what are you doing?” Takiru asked annoyed. He tried to shake her off but she held on tight. “Let go!” “Nope!” Sasha chirped. “I missed you so much, all that time in China was boring. I rather stay with you.” She pouted. “That’s sweet Sasha but you’re only thirteen, let go.” He shock harder but she still held on tight. “I don’t like you like that. Matsao tell your sister to let go!” “I’m not in this.” Matsao said as he walked away with a giggling Tenshi in his arms. “Come on Sasha, please just let go.” Takiru pleaded. “I’ll let go if you give me a kiss.” She bargained. Takiru looked at her as if she was crazy. He sighed in defeat. “Fine---hold my arm if you want too.” He said. He followed Matsao and Tenshi, with Sasha still holding his arm. He looked down at her and could the joy in her eyes that radiated only by holding his arm. He sighed. ‘Matsao’s going to kill me if I break her heart.’ “What are you thinking of?” Sasha asked him as she stared up at him. “Huh?” Takiru looked down at her. “Umm, just wondering if Sari is ok.” “You’re lying.” She smiled. “But I won’t make you tell me if you don’t want too.” Takiru just looked at her---and smiled back. *~*~*~*~*~*~* The next day, about five in the morning Sari sneaked in Seiko’s room. She wore her white almost see trough nightgown and she looked freshened up. She walked up to his bed and carefully sat on it. “Seiko.” Seiko stirred and open one eye. He looked up at Sari. “Sari not now I’m tired.” He groaned. Sari frowned. “Seiko, I just wanted to say happy birthday you idiot.” She stood up from the bed and walked away. She didn’t get far because Seiko had caught her hand and pulled her back to the bed. Somehow Sari ended up underneath Seiko. “You are too grouchy.” He whispered. “Whatever.” She rolled her eyes but still smiled. “Here.” She brought out what looked like a jewelry box. “Happy Birthday.” “Thank you my lady.” He kissed her. As he did he grabbed the jewelry box. “You know if one of the others walking in here---they would think---” “Let them think what they want.” He whispered as he kissed her cheek and made his way down her ears. A short moan escaped Sari’s lips and Seiko grinned. Sari gently pushed him away. “Open your present.” She whispered. She was very aware she was blushing as Seiko looked at her. Seiko reluctantly let go of her and opened his present. He smiled when he saw what he had wanted for weeks laying in the box. He pulled out a silver Rolex and stared at it. He looked back at Sari and smiled charmingly. “Thank you.” “Anything for you.” Sari responded with a smile. “Anything?” He grinned. “Don’t even think it.” She warned. Seiko laughed. “Hey you’re the one who said it. Twice.” “When twice.” “Just now and when we were on the roof few months ago.” “Oh.” She rolled her eyes. “So you remembered that part huh? Well I’m not on the menu until we get married or we’re REALLY engaged.” “Fine fine I can wait.” He went back into his bed and pulled up the covers. “I’m going back to bed now.” “What?” Sari asked surprised at the sudden change in topic and his action. She stood up. “Oh no you’re not.” She jumped and fell on him, hard. Seiko gasped for air when he got the wind knocked out of him. “Sari.” He shocked out. But the only respond was laughter. “Did I hurt you?” “No, just knocked the wind out of me.” He glared at her. “And it’s not funny.” That made her laugh even more. With a swift move he placed her underneath him and ran his fingers along her sides. Sari roared in laughter. “I’m sorry, stop.” She repeated over and over, until Seiko thought she had learned her lesson. “Don’t do it again.” He said. Sari looked at him breathless and found amusement in his eyes. Through the corner of her eyes she could see Sumino looking at them by the door. “Sumino!” That made Seiko’s head turn around facing his shocked friend. Seeing Seiko with only PJ pants on and Sari underneath him blushing and breathless took Sumino by surprise. He shook his head, “I don’t even want to know.” He said as he walked back out. “You mind keeping it down people here actually want to sleep.” He closed the door. Seiko and Sari looked at each other before they burst in laughter. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Later in the morning around ten everyone was out in the leaving room and dressed minutes later Aya, Tatsuya, Undime and Yasha came. After the small party of Seiko’s birthday and the opening the gifts Yuuho pushed Aya towards Seiko and Yasha gently. She seemed nervous for some reason as she approached both men. She looked back at Yuuho who just smiled and nodded. Sucking up air she went by him. “Happy birthday, brother.” She whispered. Seiko stopped talking to, Yasha, Sari and Tatsuya as he heard her. Everyone but Sari, Seiko, and Yuuho looked at her surprised and confused. “What?” They all whispered. “Um---I said happy birthday brother.” Aya repeated. Seiko looked at her taken back. He looked at Yasha who also looked taken back, showing he didn’t know what she was talking about. “B-brother?” “Yes, you are my brother and,” She turned to Yasha. “You are my father. Mother wanted to tell you but she never had the chance too. You left for America for---” “A business trip.” Yasha continued. Aya smiled. “That’s right. When she had me you were still in America. When you came mother had died and I was taken to my aunt Clara, on mother’s side of the family.” “She never did like me.” Yasha grumbled. “Yeah she did say things about you.” Aya grinned. “Anyway, I stayed with her until I was able to live on my own. I always kept an eye on both of you. I don’t know why you went around at the time Seiko.” “So, you’re my sister huh?” Seiko asked. “Well father seems to believe it, but--” He stood up looking directly in her eyes. He paused dramatically. “Hmph.” Aya stood there looking at Seiko unsure. She felt he was going to reject her, and that frightened her more than anything in the world. She cast her head down waiting for him to reject her. She was surprised to feel a hand on her head. She looked up to find amusing eyes staring at her. She frowned and smacked his hand off her head. “Don’t play like that, stupid.” They all laughed and Seiko hugged her. When Aya was released from his hug she turned to Yasha and waited for him to say something but he only stood. He brought out his arms and she walked into them. She felt as they wrapped around her. They stood like that for a while until the doorbell rang and Sari went to go get it. She found Takiru, Matsao, Tenshi and a girl that looked younger then the three of them and not to mention she looks a bit like Matsao. “Hey guys!” “We decided to come anyway. Sorry we’re late.” Tenshi paused. “Are we?” “No not at all. Who are you?” She directed her question to the girl. “Sari who is it?” They heard Seiko’s voice and looked at him as he stood behind Sari. “Hey come on in.” “Thanks.” Takiru whispered. “And this is Matsao’s sister Sasha, your last guardian. She just came back from school in china.” He also introduced. “Hey.” Sasha said as she grabbed on to Takiru’s arm. Sari looked at her a bit surprised and shock from what Takiru said and her forwardness towards Takiru especially since she looked so young. “Hi.” She said quietly yet confused. Tenshi and Matsao noticed and frowned a little. “Sari move out of the way.” Seiko said softly to her as he pulled her gently. “Come in guys.” Matsao, Tenshi, Sasha and Takiru came in. Before Takiru went in with his friends he gave Seiko a present. “It’s from all of us.” He took one look at Sari before he walked towards the others. “Sari what’s wrong?” Seiko asked as he turned her around. He could feel that something was wrong. She looked up at him. “It’s nothing really.” She smiled convincingly at him and followed Takiru and the others to the leaving room. Seiko sighed. “You still have feelings towards Takiru don’t you?” He whispered as he watched her go. He tapped the small box on his fingertips and proceeded to walk towards the leaving room. When he got there the air was quiet as his guardians and Sari’s guardians sat across each other just looking at one another while Sari and Undime were talking behind the whole group and Yasha just leaned on the wall looking at both groups. He sighed, ‘this is going to be interesting.’ Seiko had an idea. He went to the boom box and turned it on. Everyone looked at him confused. “Come on, this is my birthday and I will not allow you guys to have a staring contest.” He walked up to Aya. “Wanna dance?” He offered his hand to her. Aya looked at him with amusement, “Sure.” She placed her hand in his. “Yuuho, I’m borrowing your girl.” Seiko said as he pulled her in the middle of the leaving room. “That’s fine just as long as you return her to me.” Soon everyone but Tatsuya was paired up and dancing. Sari was with Matsao. Tenshi danced with Sumino. Sasha was with Yuuho. Amika and Takiru, and Undime and Yasha. Tatsuya just sat there staring at them with great amusement he then stole a glance of Undime and found that she was laughing as she danced with Yasha. Matsao looked at Sari, studying her. “You still like him.” Was all he said as they continued to dance. “Excuse me?” Sari asked totally surprised by his question. “If you mean Seiko---” “Don’t play stupid.” He whispered. “You know who I mean. The surprised and chocked look you threw off when Sasha held Takiru’s arm was a dead give away. You still like him.” Sari looked at him and sighed. “I like him but I _love_ Seiko. He doesn’t know so let’s just keep it that way. It’ll be much easier and besides he has a girl right?” “If you mean Sasha, no. They are just friends, but Sasha wants to be more.” Matsao explained with a slight frown. Suddenly the song ended and a slow song started. Sari smiled at him and pecked him on the cheek. “Thanks for the dance.” “You’re welcome.” Matsao smiled and left to find Tenshi. Sari looked around and found Seiko leaning on a wall lazily looking straight at her with a grin. She walked up to him and stood right in front of him. “You wanna dance Seiko?” She asked. “Sure.” He said as he led her to the floor. Wrapping his arms around her small waist and feeling her arms around his neck they stared at each other as the music played. “Sari, be truthful okay?” Sari only nodded, curious of what he wanted to ask her. “Do you still have feelings for Takiru?” He looked into her eyes intently. “I like him, but I love you.” She pressed her forehead against his. “Always and only you.” She added in a whisper. “Good answer.” He said before her leaned forward right before he took her lips someone, cleared his throat bringing them back out of their own world. They both turned their heads and saw everyone staring at them. Quickly they let go of each other. “Who wants something to eat?” Sari quickly said as she rushed into the kitchen. Her mother and Tenshi followed. Seiko only smiled. “So what you guys want to do next?” They all grinned except for Takiru. In the kitchen Sari was busy cutting and slicing vegetables while her cheeks burned bright red. “So,” Tenshi started with a teasing voice. “You guys hit it off pretty well huh?” Her eyes were shining with laughter. Sari blushed an even brighter red. “Yea, his--his really nice, romantic and sweet.” Sari had the dreamy look in her eyes. “Not to mention charming, caring, smooth, great build---” “Love’s in the air.” Undime sang. Tenshi giggled as she saw her close friend blush. “Come on let’s get dinner ready.” Sari said hoping to change the subject. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* After dinner all the girls cleaned the table and were in the kitchen cleaning up while the guys were in the leaving room chatting and having fun. Takiru walked up to Seiko and asked if he could talk in private. Both men went into Seiko’s room. “Look,” Takiru started after a while of silence. He ran his hand through his hair and looked at Seiko who was leaning casually on the wall. “I’m going to be straight with you.” Seiko just looked at him waiting to hear what his once enemy and competition stood a few feet away from him. “Giving up Sari was really hard. Not that she was mine from the beginning.” He paused. “But the way she would come to me and just talked or cried over you when she was living with us told me I had no chance in hell with her. I didn’t want to believe it so I tried to win her but I knew her heart was taken already. Not by me but by---you.” He looked at the silent man by the wall. “I know when to give up when things are impossible to gain. I---I won’t touch her anymore, you have my word.” Silence reigned over the two men who stood there looking at each other. Finally Seiko straightened up. “Thank you.” He whispered. “I know it was hard for you to say that and respect you for it. But I have to admit that I was afraid that I would lose her. I---I hope we can be friends.” He walked up to Takiru hand held out his hand. “Me too.” Takiru said and took Seiko’s hand and shook it. Seiko smiled. “Come on lets go back.” He placed his teasing expression on as he grinned. “We don’t want to leave the ladies waiting now do we?” Takiru laughed. “You are too quick to forgive Seiko.” They both walked out of the room and met everyone in the leaving room talking. Sari looked up from the conversation between her and the other girls and saw Seiko and Takiru coming out of the hallway. She stood up walked to them. “So how are my two favorite guys?” She asked. Seiko looked at her with an eyebrow up while Takiru grinned. “Fine just fine.” “Good, now come on.” She pulled both of men towards everyone else. “The day isn’t over yet.”
