Child of Light, Child of Dark Chapter Two ---------------------------------- On top of the roof of the hotel Undime stood there looking over the city. The wind was soft and gentle as it whispered in her ear and played with her hair. She sighed and tucked her hair behind her ear. It felt nice to be in her original body but she knew that she couldn’t stay in it for ever. People would start to wonder about Mrs. Sukiko in her home town. She wished she didn’t have to with all her might. She was just starting to fall in love but her love was too young for her in both bodies. She wanted to stay with him but what if he didn’t love her back? She sighed again as a single tear escaped her eye. ‘Come on don’t start crying.’ She scolded herself. “He deserves better.” She whispered. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Taki!!!” Sasha yelled as she ran to him and gave him a huge hug. Takiru almost fell to the ground when she had hugged him. Sasha had came to visit her brother unlucky for him he was the one who opened the door. “Sasha…are you trying to kill me?” He shocked out as he felt her hug him tighter. “Matsao!!!” “Sasha leave him alone.” Matsao spoke as he walked past them. “He’s turning blue.” The red head gasped and let go of Takiru who sighed in relief. “I’m sorry Taki.” She whispered and bowed her head in shame. Takiru looked at her for a moment. He took her by the chin and raised her head up. “It’s okay.” Sasha’s eyes took on a dreamy look. “Can you please kiss me?” She whispered. Immediately Takiru stepped back and walked away as fast as he could. Sasha quickly closed the door and followed him to the kitchen where her brother and Tenshi were. She kissed Matsao on the cheek and said good-morning to both of them. Takiru looked at her as she did and wondered how she could be so calm and graceful towards other people, but when she sees him she acts like a total airhead and…ditz. He shrugged and made a cup of coffee. ‘I’ll find out.’ He thought. *~*~*~*~*~*~* Seiko was in the mall. He looked at various jewelry stores but none held what he wanted until he saw it behind a window. It was a ring. A gorgeous ring. Small diamonds shaped as stars all circled one large ruby making it look like a flower. He walked in quickly and asked to see the ring. *~*~*~*~*~*~* “Yasha.” Sari called as she walked out of her room to the leaving room where he always was but she didn’t find him there. “Yasha?” She called out louder and walked in the hallway. “Yeah.” Yasha appeared in front of her. This would have scared anyone but fortunately she had gotten use to it. Yasha looked at her puzzled. “Do you know what’s wrong with mother. She’s been so quiet lately and sometimes I see her crying.” Sari asked with worry written all over he face. Yasha sighed. “She’s in love Sari but she believes this love can’t be.” He disappeared before Sari could ask him anymore questions. “She’s in love? But why can’t it happen?” She asked herself as stood in the empty hallway alone. Suddenly a door opened and Tatsuya poked out his head. “Did you say something Saya?” Sari smiled at the name. She shook her head. “No, what are you doing in Seiko’s room?” Tatsuya shrugged. “I just wanted to relax and his room is more to my taste.” “Oh, hey do you know where mother is?” Sari asked. To her surprise she watched as Tatsuya’s expression turned sad yet angry. “Suya, what’s wrong?” She asked with worry. That was enough to snap him out of his thoughts. He looked at her with now calming eyes. “No, I don’t know where she is.” He started walking away towards the leaving room. “Where are you going?” “To the roof.” Sari watched as he left and sighed. She continued to walk to her room where she turned on the boom box and listened to the music flowing from it. *~*~*~*~*~*~* “Sasha can I talk to you in private please?” Takiru asked as he poked his head out of his room and looked straight at Sasha who was talking with Tenshi. He watched as she nodded and walked up to him nervously. “Y-yes?” She asked once she stepped in the room. Takiru closed the door and turned to her. “Okay, you have to tell me the absolute honest truth.” He looked at her seriously. Sasha smiled “Of course Taki anything for you.” She squealed. Takiru winced inwardly. “Sasha stop that, just stop it.” His voice was hard and it made Sasha to take a step back. “Why do you act like this around me?” “I---What are you talking about?” Takiru frowned at her “Sasha don’t play stupid. You are a very beautiful, intelligent girl to others but when you are around me you act like you---well like an airhead. Why is that.” Sasha slowly looked up to him she then turned around and looked around the room. “You have a nice room Taki. It’s very you.” She whispered. “Sasha stop---” “You know when I first saw you, I thought you were very attractive so I began to pay attention when ever I’m around you. You were always surrounded by girls at school most of them airheads and ditz but they were very beautiful.” She sighed and fell on the bed staring at the ceiling. “Being an idiot I decided to play along it was just for fun at first. The more I hanged around you and the girls the more I would act the way I act now towards you only. I don’t know why I never stopped. It just became a habit and I’m trying to stop but it’s taking a while. I’ve noticed the more I act like that the more you run away from me a-and I don’t want that.” Takiru looked at Sasha for a while before he smiled a little. ‘So that’s why, hmph.’ He continued to stare at her as she gazed at the ceiling. He sighed. ‘Sasha.’ *~*~*~*~*~*~* “So,” Tenshi walked where Matsao was sitting watching a program. She sat close to him and snuggled loving to him as she draped her right hand on his chest, she could feel his steady heart beat and hers quickened because of it. Her left hand ran itself through his hair repeatedly. “What are we going to do with Sasha?” She asked carefully. Matsao looked down at her seriously, his brown bangs brushing over his eyes, she always loved it when that happened. “She’s not fully awaken yet as a guardian. Is that what you’re referring too?” He asked. He watched as she nodded. “I’m worried Matsao, she might start something. Remember what happened last time?” Tenshi asked as she shivered from the memories. “She’s more evil than any of us. I know she’s your sister and I’m sorry…” Tenshi abruptly stopped when she felt her chin being grasped gently and pushed up-wards. “Tenshi, you don’t have to apologize to me.” Matsao looked into her eyes. “You did nothing wrong, you only stated what was true. Sasha will eventually fully awaken and cause chaos. I’m just afraid she would get herself killed or…someone else.” He whispered the last word. Tenshi looked at him helplessly and sad. She knew that he was hurting. He knew Sasha in the end would be killed for the evil deeds she will cause and she herself didn’t know how to sooth his pain. “Mat-chan.” She whispered. She slowly moved so she was sitting on his lap facing him all the way. She buried her gaze in his before she hugged him. “It’ll be alright I---I promise.” She whispered in his hair. Matsao slowly raised his arm and encircle her waist hugging her back. He said nothing and gazed at the wall in front of them. He sighed. *~*~*~*~*~*~* Sari was just about to get ready for bed. She took off her shirt and her jeans. As she accomplished that a knock was heard. “Yeah?” She said. The door opened and she gasped. She turned around to find a blushing Seiko. “I meant yea as in who is it you sicko get out!” She yelled as she tried to cover herself. Seiko immediately walked out not needed to be asked twice. When Sari had put on her night dress she walked up to the door and opened it. She saw Seiko there waiting for her. “What is it?” She asked a little angry at him. Seiko turned around to face her and smiled a bit. “Sorry about that.” He said sincerely. Sari smiled, for some reason she could never stay angry at him. “It’s ok.” She gasped in surprise when Seiko gathered her in his arms and backed her back in her room. “Seiko?” “Shh,” He looked at her, he smiled at her bewilderment. “I have something to give you.” He lightly kissed her. “I thought of what you said about not being really engaged.” He smiled even more when he saw her eyes slightly widen a bit. He made her fall back on the bed softly and knelt on one knee in front of her. “Seiko?” Sari stared down at him not believing what was happening. She didn’t think he had taken her seriously before. “Sari,” Seiko looked up at her, directly in her eyes. “You mean the world to me and I would never let anything harm you.” He grinned. “Well except for when we first met.” He teased her and earned a slap on his arm by a smiling Sari. He took out a small red velvet box and without hesitation he opened it. ‘Oh---My---GOD!’ Sari’s mind screamed when she saw the beautiful ring sparkling. She looked at Seiko with joy, excitement, and fear. She loved the idea of forever being his, but what feared her was not being a good wife. “Sari I love you and would follow you from earth to heaven. I’m giving my heart to you and only you. Please take it and say you will be my wife.” Seiko looked straight into Sari’s tears stained eyes. She nodded before she said anything. “I- --yes my love yes.” She watched as he placed the ring on her finger. She fell in his embrace and kissed him as her tears ran down her cheeks. He wiped her tears way with his thumb as he kissed her back. “Thank you Seiko.” She whispered as she broke the kiss and hugged him. “The pleasure is mine love.” He replied as he returned her hug. He pulled her away slowly and started into her eyes. Sari smiled at him as she did she kissed him fully on the lips. She placed her hand behind his neck and pulled him down as she lay flat on the floor. “I love you.” She whispered into his ear as he nibbled her earlobe. She folded her right leg, so her knee would be facing the ceiling as her back arced forward and a sigh was released from her lips. “I love you too.” The night went fast yet blissful for the couple. *~*~*~*~*~*~* Tenshi rang the doorbell to Seiko and the others apartment. She waited a while before the door opened and saw Sumino. She smiled at him. “Hey, is Sari home?” “No actually she left with Seiko.” He looked at her teasingly and watched as she frowned he laughed. “I’m just playing come in.” Tenshi glared playfully at him as she stepped in. She saw everyone but Seiko, Undime, Yasha, Sari and Tatsuya. “Hey guys!” She smiled. “Hey Tenshi, what’s up?” Aya asked. “Nothing really.” She shrugged. “Is Sari here?” “Yes, I am.” Sari said as she came out of her room. She closed the door. And put on her shoes. “Lets go.” Grabbing Tenshi by the arm she dragged her out. “Bye guys.” Tenshi was about to pull away when she saw something shinning on her friend’s finger. “Oh My GOD!” She screamed and tackled Sari in a hug. “Why didn’t you tell me he finally asked you?!!!” She let go of her shocking friend. Sari straightened up and smiled at her ecstatic friend. “Yeah he asked me last night.” “Ohhh, I’m so jealous.” Tenshi huffed and stomped her foot down like a child. “Matsao won’t even think of something like that.” Sari laughed. “Come on, Tenshi. You guys have only be dating for two-three months now.” She looked at her friend as they continued walking down the hall. “Yeah but still.” “Hey ladies!” They both looked to find Seiko and Yasha walking up to them. They both smiled. “Hey.” “Where are you ladies going?” Yasha asked as they stopped in front of them. “To my place.” Tenshi answered. “Yasha could you tell mother I’m looking for her. I haven’t seen her in over a week now.” Her eyes swayed from worry to scared. “She won’t return my messages either.” Yasha nodded. “I will, promise.” Sari smiled and kissed him on the cheek. “Thanks!” She turned to kiss Seiko quickly on the lips before she and Tenshi started leaving. Seiko looked at his father worriedly. “What’s going on with Undime?” Yasha sighed as he ran his hand in his hair. “She’s in love.” “Then what’s the problem?” “He’s too and I mean too young?” Yasha continued walking and Seiko followed. “Don’t ask it’s a long story anyway.” “Alright.” Seiko said a bit confused at his father’s explanation. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* On the roof Undime faced the city unknown to her Tatsuya appeared behind her. Lowering himself to her ear he slightly yelled. “BOO!” Undime jumped as she screamed in surprise. She turned around to see Tatsuya laughing but his eyes never left her. She smacked him on the shoulder. “That’s not funny! You scared the hell out of me.” She frowned at him and that quickly sobered him up. “Sorry.” He grinned sheepishly. Undime rolled her eyes at him and turned back to the city. She was surprised when she felt his arms around her waist and him pulling her close to him. “Tat---” “What are you always doing up here?” He spoke in a low voice. “I come here to think.” She answered truthfully. “You know Yasha and I are soon going back.” “Yea I know.” “Hmph.” She whispered. They stood that way for a while not minding each other’s company. The silence broke when Tatsuya decided to speak. As he did he let go of Undime. “When are you going back home?” He asked casually. “By the first day of August.” “Isn’t that just two weeks from now?” “Yeah why?” “Just asking.” “You know what?” Undime asked as she turned to him. “What?” “You are a confusing man and a careless one at that.” “Oh really?” Tatsuya finally decided to look at her. “Why?” “Because.” “Because is not an answer.” “Yes it is.” “No it isn’t.” “It is for me.” “And you are such a child.” “Why thank you.” Undime and Tatsuya just stared at each other before they both laughed. To Tatsuya’s surprise Undime hugged him and buried her face in his chest. “Tatsu.” Tatsuya looked down at her for a moment before he pulled her away gently. “Undime before this goes anywhere I have to tell you that I’m not looking for a commitment right now.” Undime looked at him for a long time before answering. “I don’t care. It’s not like it would work anyway. My age is far greater than of yours and I’ll be leaving soon anyway.” She said with great difficulty. ‘Tatsuya do you know what you’re doing to me? You’re tearing me apart.’ Tatsuya nodded.
