Children of Innocence Chapter 2 -------------------------------------- The next moonlit night Aouera went back to the forbidded grounds. As his head peeked out of the sparkling pool, a firefly spotted a young man lurking in the magical water. "What do you want here?," asked Lightbulb. "I want to see this strange fire." "I want to know what it's doing here", said Aouera. A silence befell the firefly, when some small utterence came toward the shore's peak. Kawaii figure stood on her tiptoes suspended in midair. Body was that of a child-like girl who was half nude, save for milkweed fluff around her body in the form of a short dress. She was fifthteenish. At least seem to be by the moonlight. Pale blonde hair, almost white flowed down to her ankles. Her skin was the hue of fine china. Wings were shaped and translucent as mayfly's wings would be. She glided to the frost child above his head. The fire fairy stared at the sixteenish lad who had snow white skin, wings created by ice crystals and short hair that shone as moon's light. She stared and stared. She wanted him to come out of the water. But the fire on her antenne might of gotten quinched."How was she going to convince her mom how that happened?" Other then a harmless play fight with a firefly. Instead she raced herself for any sign of danger. The pea sized fairy nymph looked at the young man and asked him something. ' Tell me, why are you here?," she said with a little tense voice. "I wanted to see your flame," Aourea answered. 'I don't get any sun on my land, so I thought I'd visit here to see your lovely forest." "If you don't mind?" The fairy gave him a half moon smile. ' I don't mind, I was taught by my dear mother not to trust, or I'm not supposed to talk to a frost child." "For you, I'll make a exception. " Because I like you." "I see no harm in just being friends." ' By the way, you didn't give me your name." 'Ah, it's Aouera. "I'm Xlexa." Xlexia, the beauty. Fairy princess Xlexia. Daughter of the sun (Selina). " I really, don't think it matters what everyone calls me." "I need to be brave and glorifed." "For one day, I may be queen of the lightened people!" "A queen hugh?" "Could you ever be out and about guarding the land for trespassers?," he asked with a smirk. "I surely say not!" "I guarding this flame from the wind." ' If I guard and triumph over this one skill, I'll be submitted as queen." ' Well queeny, may I step on your grounds?" "Don't mock me!" " I was only telling you about me." "If you cared to listen?" " I might consider you a close friend." " I don't like being mocked!" "My conrades never make fun of me." Aouera looked at Xlexa being so upset. He apoligised. "I didn't know she was sensitive, he thought to himself." ' I'm sorry, I said that, Xlexia." " It won't happen again." Xlexa accepted. Xlexa looked at Aouera with ardent eyes. She glided over to him and drifted him to the land. She popped another unusual question. " Have you ever danced?" " No, not yet, he replied. Xlexa asked him to watch her for a moment. Xlexa danced in the flame's electric blue base. She became part of the flame. Warm fire stired inside Aouera's ice body, almost melting icesickles in his hair. His heart beat faster than what he was used to. Her dance was graceful and silent. Xlexa spoke not a word. Her hands were delicate. Each sway spead special glitter. The kind that meant there was joy. Only glitter from nymphs and magical beings. The frost child was enchanted by her dance. "sigh." " Wow!," he said in back of his mind.' " I'd really like to know her better." The fire nymph glided to the ground once more, after the dance. Xlexa's porcelin skin became the hue of clear pools. Maybe the dance warmed her too. That night was truly magical, but strange for the fire and frost child. Not thinking of the sun arising soon, he forgot consquenses that could happen to his flesh, if he didn't leave before the rays came thru the sunny land. A little before dawn, the sun stung the frost child. Aouera began to experince pain that he had never felt. A pain somewhat of a sting of a funnel web spider. It went thru him as a electric pull. Xlexa looked worried about Aourea and his shock. "What wrong!?", she asked. " My father warned me of the pain of the sun, and it's effects on me." "I'm sorry, but I have to go!" "Before I perish." Xlexa thought a quickly for a moment. " You too?" "I will die if I even touch the water." "Fire and ice will quinch one another." "The pain doesn't come from you or the magic fire entirely, but your sun's intensity." ' See ya tomorrow!, Xlexa couldn't hear thru the agonizing screaming in his teeth. "You will come back this evening?" " Won't you?" 'Sure, why not?" "Tonight then!" Aouera cried, not of the pain, but of the fear of his father reconizing him leaving the snowy hills. In the deep of the mountain layed a being, Selina , the sun goddess. Xlexa was called from her bed made from fluffy puffy ivory clouds. The nymph awoke, whished away by a mini cyclone, that was invented by her mother. Xlexia's wings twinched with each thought she spoke. Golden nymphs dressed, and swept her off in another cloud, while they groomed her tresses. She was then dipped in powder. This gave her the china white appearence. Then Xlexa was presented in lady fashion to Selina. Xlexa was no bigger than a human pinkie. She stared at the sun when it became low to the ground. Her mother Selina knew something strange about her dear daughter. "Treasured daughter?" " What on earth is a matter with you?" Xlexa looked further away toward the sun that had almost vanished. Xlexa finaly looked up to her worried mother. ' Mother, when will you decide to make me queen?,she asked." ' My daughter, you will become queen, when the sun blocks into darkness!" Xlexa grew sadder. The dark sun.... All she could think of was the friendship between her and Aouera. Xlexa asked Selina questions above all questions. "Would I be able to choose a king or perhaps a friend to rule by my side?" " A lord or husband?" Selina smiled at her daughter. "Xlexa, you have many suitors." " Why don't you try one of the grown nymphs?" "Homage, he's a great fairy prince." " He lives beyond the horizen." " Homage is Selene's son." Xlexa knew her aunt, the watcher of the night. She couldn't marry her cousin. "Could she?" Selina kept up the conversation. " He's handsome." "You'll learn to love him in time." Xlexa wouldn't tell her mother that she'd already was in love with the frost child Aouera. Ohh... clear as the snow on moonlit night, Aouera, I'd never let you leave me and I will never set you free to do so. In the back of her mind she thought, so that Selina couldn't hear. " I only have big eyes for him mother." " I would not marry another." Sigh. ------------------------------------------------------- Author note: Hey! " I see you read this too!!" In 4 years before Little Mermaid was even thought of, I sent a composite drawing of Ariel. I created her, way before she was put on paper from any other person. I received no credit except a lousy phonecall. Howard Ashman of Disney spoke to me . "I was going to pave the future for young artists everywhere." " Look, how rich that one movie made them."
