Reiko asked, leaning against Oni as she sipped her drink. Kaze's group of supporters had decided to meet in the Hall's lobby before going out to celebrate her victory. "Hai," Oni replied. "He said that he'd seen a weakness in his fighting - his dependence on Suzu - and that he wasn't worthy of facing Kaze." "I just wish that he hadn't been worthy of facing me," Nishi interjected from the sofa, where he was being bandaged by his niece. "He's a better fighter than he looks." "Hai, but not very smart," Reiko added. "I can't believe that he that he thinks you're a chi senshi!" Everyone laughed, and Nishi, Jana and Oni exchanged secretive smiles. "So Oni-sama," Hikari called as she handed Jana a roll of bandages. "What are you going to tell your superior? Will you get in trouble for letting them go?" Oni sighed. "I don't know," he admitted. "But I've decided to stay on Earth for awhile longer, just in case. I'm sure that my superior already knows what happened, and if she's mad, I don't want to be anywhere near her." Everyone laughed again. "So Kaze," Billy called to the young woman in the corner. "What are you going to do with your prize money?" Leaning against the wall, Kaze halted her inspection of her new bandages and smiled. "I'm giving it to someone who needs it more than me," she answered simply. "Who?" Jason asked curiously. Kaze turned away slightly. "That," she replied. "Is a secret." There was a pause, and Billy and Jason exchanged confused glances. Shrugging, they turned back to the group and joined the conversation. Kaze felt her eyes wander to the entrance, and knew that she was waiting for a familiar figure to walk in. Hikari and Jana broke away from the group and approached her. "Kaze-san?" Jana asked. "Are you all right?" Kaze turned, looking at the young woman before her, and noticed that she was holding her sister's hand. She smiled as a sneaking suspicion crept over her. "I'm fine," replied lightly. "I'm just a little tired." Hikari frowned. "Are you sure?" Kaze grinned. "Hai, I'm sure. I just need to..." Her eye's went wide and she halted midsentence. Jana and Hikari turned and followed Kaze's gaze, noticing someone standing near the entrance. "I promised," Ryu said. "I promised you that I'd come back." Kaze's eyes filled with tears as she ran to him. Holding her close, Ryu gently kissed her. Everyone in the lobby applauded, and Kaze and Ryu looked up in surprise. Hikari gave her sister a thumbs up sign, putting an arm around Jana. Nishi smiled at his apprentice in approval. Billy and Jason held up Kaze's trophy and grinned in triumph. Reiko whistled from her perch on Oni's shoulder. Turning back to Ryu, Kaze tilted her head questioningly. "So are you staying for good this time?" Ryu smiled. "I don't know," he answered softly. "But I will stay for awhile." Kaze grinned as she kissed him again, feeling happier than she had in a long time. "That," she replied. "Is good enough for me." -------- The End
