Sailor Moon Millenium - The Rise of the Stellar Scouts Chapter # 7 - Moutning Up : An Old Friend Returns - Created May 1st, 2000 By K.W. Isenor (sailor_sun_@hotmail.com) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I can't believe that it is the weekend already! Time really does fly!" Jessica stated as she walked along the sidewalk with Eclipse at her side. "Oh if only Serena and the others were here." Jessica paused with a deep sigh. "I miss all of them so much." "It is only natural that you miss them, but you have new friends here now." Eclipse looked up at Jessica as the continued down the street. "You and Alissa seem to have hit it off." "Yeah, but how I wish I could see Serena trip and land on her face again, and to see Amy with her nose always in a book, or to have Raye boss me around because of the stupidest things, or to taste Lita's cooking, to have Mina act like a ditz, and to feel Kevin's arms wrapped around me protectively." Jessica sighed again. Eclipse didn't know what to say, so they continued on in silence until a familiar Scottish voice could be heard. They both turned in the direction of the voice looking for Alissa's smiling face. "Jessica, hi! There you are!" Alissa ran down her driveway waving her hands. "I tried to call you, but your mom said you already left." The girl came to a stop in front of Jessica and Eclipse. "Why?" Jessica asked a bit puzzled. "I was going to ask you to stop off at the store and pick a few items for the horses, but don't worry about it." Alissa said, slowly catching her breath. "Oh, sorry. I thought I should leave a bit early incase I ran into something that might slow me down." Jessica paused and thought to herself. 'Like some evil villain by the name of Kurai-ki.' "What were you going to run into a monster like the one that attacked your brother?" Alissa asked. "And you brother is so lucky!" "Why is he lucky? Because we was attacked by a monster?" Jessica looked at Alissa oddly. "Yeah real lucky." She added still a bit puzzled by Alissa's statement. "No! He is lucky because he got to see that Sailor Scout, Sailor Sun! She is so cool, I wish I were as talented as her, I bet she can do anything." Alissa practically had stars in her eyes as she thought about her favorite heroin of all time. 'No you don't want to be a Sailor Scout, believe me. It is no fun not having a normal life.' Jessica thought to herself, her head sunk and her hands fell limply to her sides. "Jessica, come on." Alissa tapped Jessica's face lightly. "We have to put your book bag in the house, then we have to make a run to the store!" Alissa said as she began to drag Jessica up her long driveway. "And as soon as we get back mom said you can help we with the horses, we have to tidy up the stable." With that Jessica sighed disappointedly. "But." Jessica lifted her head. "But, if we do a good job mom said I could take you out in the ring before supper, then after helping with the dinner mess we get to go on a trial!" Alissa's voice full of excitement. "Really?" Jessica's mood lightening at her friends remark. "Mum, hum." Alissa mumbled as she dragged Jessica up the steps to her front door. "Set your book bag there and then we will be on our way!" Jessica took her book bag off and threw it on a chair. She ran down the stairs hurriedly, then the two girls and the big Doberman ran back down the driveway and disappeared around the corner. * * * * * "So Kurai-ki, you have done some homework. Now explain how that will help you with the destruction of Sailor Sun, and accumulate those damn Heart Stones?" Emperor Valico questioned the young minion that stood before him. "Fear." Kurai-ki simply responded, not even moving from where he stood. His voice so calm, and confident. "So what about fear, what is this fear that you talk about? Unlike you I haven't studied the emotions of the human beings, and I'd like to stay as far away from their emotions as possible, there are so many "happy" emotions." The Emperor shuttered in the thought. "Fear is a distressing emotion aroused by impending pain, danger, evil. Fear can be broken down into phobias, the fear of something in particular. Humans have so much fears or phobias. And I believe that I can use their own fears and turn them around on them." "So this fear that you talk about is some very valid information, I want to know more." The Emperor rubbed his hands together. "But how will this help you get rid of that pest Sailor Sun?" "Well like I said, every human has to fear something, so I have to find out her fear and make a world that is her fear. To make her live in a nightmare which she has created." "Go on, I think you may have something." The Emperor sat forward in his seat, craving to learn more, more about fear. "While Sailor Sun is trapped in her nightmare then I will be able to collect the Heart Stones and you shall have what you want, but all in due time. This is not something to be rushed, you can't go diving into this feet first, you have to inspect everything before going for the leap." "Good, you have my permission to go on with this study of yours, find out Sailor Sun's fear, and make her live in her nightmare, I can't wait to see what will happen to that horrible Sailor Scout." "Very well." With those last words Kurai-ki turned and vanished in a swirl of leaves and small twigs. The Emperor stood up and walked around in circles thinking silently. "This will work, and I won't get blamed for failing, because this plan simply can not fail. There is no way that this plan can go wrong." The Emperor continued to walk around. "And with due time I will have what I want, and everything will be complete, nothing would stand in my way once Sailor Sun is out of the picture." The Emperor threw his head back in a deep revolting laughter. His laughter rang throughout the dark dim area around him. The close by running water dragged the echo of his laughter on. * * * * * "Did you hear something?" Jessica stopped and looked around for the source of the noise she had just heard, but from where? Alissa came to a stop, she quietly listened. "What did it sound like?" She asked as she scanned the area for anything out of the ordinary. "I don't know, it was a echo of something, but I'm not really sure what." Jessica walked over to the edge of the bridge, she looked down into the water, and along the river. 'No one down there.' She thought to herself. 'Only a polluted river which leads into the sewers, than a large open bay with a large stinky old building.' "Nope." She shook her head left and right. "I can't hear anything besides the normal everyday noises that you hear around you all the time." "Oh." Jessica listened once more. "I guess it was nothing, but just be my ears playing tricks on me." Jessica walked on, she looked down at Eclipse, the dog shrugged his shoulders. 'I could have sworn that I heard something, maybe laughter?' Jessica asked herself as she followed Alissa and Eclipse to the store. * * * * * "Well are you ready?" Alissa asked, her voice bursting with excitement as she adjusted the strap to her riding helmet. After not getting an answer out of Jessica she asked again. "Well? Are you ready?" Jessica nodded her head. "Yeah but what if I do something wrong?" Jessica looked over at the horses standing in their stalls. They bobbed their heads up and down. "You did fine before supper, so don't worry!" Alissa reinsured. "Yeah I might have done good but you had me on that super long leash thing!" Jessica added. "A lunge line, but you still did good, and these horses are hard to handle. Now come on which horse to you want to go on? Pick anyone except that dappled gray one on the left." Alissa pointed to the beautiful dark dappled gray horse standing in his stall. She read the nameplate out loud. "Glory." "He is my favorite, I'll be riding him!" Alissa said as she walked up to the horse and patted his soft velvet nose. "Ya want to go for a ride boy?" The horses bobbed his head up and down and let out a whinny. "I like this one." Jessica walked up and stood out in front of a golden colored horse's stall. "She is really pretty." Jessica's eyes scanned the horses sleek body then turned to the stall door to read the nameplate. "Dawn. What a nice name for such a nice horse." "So you want Dawn this time?" Alissa walked over to Dawn's stall and unlocked the door. "Come on girl, we are going out for a ride." The horse walked out after Alissa eagerly; Alissa attached the horse's halter to the ties. "You don't have to worry about giving her the full out groom, since we did all of that before supper." "So I only have to tack her up right now?" Jessica asked as she rubbed the horse's neck. Alissa nodded. "You know where to find everything, and how to put it on." Alissa indicated the tack room with her head while she took Glory out of his stall. Jessica walked into the tack room and found all of Dawn's tack, she carried it out and set it on the floor. A few minutes later Jessica was leading Dawn out of the stable, Alissa followed with Glory. "Over to the mounting block and we can be on our way." Alissa walked over and stood up on the mounting block, swing her leg over the horses back she sat down in the english saddle. Jessica followed her friends lead. "Alright, so where are we going?" Jessica asked, the excitement pour through her voice. She was smiling ear to ear. "We will take a short trail, not too much for your first time, after all you don't want to be walking bow legged after this is all over do you?" Alissa asked cheerfully. "Come on lets go." Alissa gently nudged her heal into the horses side, Glory started to trot. Jessica did the same and rode up to Alissa's side. "This is a lot easier then I thought." Jessica said as the two girls rode into the woods. "I'm doing a lot better then I thought I would. I just hope I don't fall off." "I told you that you'd do fine, it isn't that hard, you just have to know what you are doing. Now come on lets try a quick canter." Alissa nudged the horse's sides a bit harder and the horses picked up his pace. Dawn did the same. After riding for almost forty-five minutes the two girls came to a brook, there was a path that led through the brook, the other path lead beside. "Well which one to we take?" Jessica asked looking at the two paths. "I think we will take this one." Alissa got Glory to walk through the shallow water of the brook, Dawn started to follow but stopped, the horses lifted her ears and twitched them back and forth. Jessica tried to nudge the horse to go on, but for some reason she wouldn't. Once Alissa noticed that Jessica was no longer beside her she brought Glory to a halt. Turning in the saddle to see where Jessica was and why she was coming, she almost lost her balance as Glory took off at a full out gallop. "Come on Dawn go!" Jessica got Dawn to cross the brook and follow after Alissa on the run away horse. A shrill scream could be heard through the air, off in the distance. 'Oh great, just what I didn't need!' Jessica thought to herself as she turned Dawn in the direction of the scream. Running through the woods the scream came closer and more clear, Jessica found herself on a street, she turned the horse to the right and continued down the sidewalk, people lifted their heads to see Jessica and Dawn. Jessica stopped the horse behind a couple of bushes beside a soccer field. 'Alright where is the trouble maker today?' Jessica scanned the area, her eyes stopped on two girls, one was running around and swinging her arms as if she were try to get flies away from her head, the other was curled up in a ball and rocking back and forth. "SOLARIS STAR . . . . . POWER!" Jessica then closed her eyes. The Solaris Medallion disappeared into many little orange and gold sparkles; this caused her body to shimmer the colors of the sparkles as they fell onto her body. Then her silver tiara appeared with the red jewel in the center. The jewel then emitted a blinding flash of orange light that surrounded Jessica giving her the feeling of the bright morning sun on her body. Then a swirl of orange and gold sparkles warped around her body moving upward as it spun around her body. The body suit of her uniform then appeared. And the bows came out of the heart in the center of her chest. Sparkling golden rings then went around her feet forming boots. Then more sparkling rings went around her arms forming her gloves. Soon afterward the golden sparkles went around her waist forming her skirt. At that point there was a large burst of golden sparkles that flew up into the air, when the sparkles fell to the ground Sailor Sun was then revealed fully transformed. She did her transformation pose. She stood there with one hand across her forehead and the other across her stomach with her legs together. Her long red hair then blew to the side. Dawn backed away and let out a startled whinny. "It's okay girl, calm down." Sailor Sun tried to calm the horse. "What do we have here?" The familiar voice was heard from the other side of the bushes, Sailor Sun turned quickly to come face to face with Kurai-ki. He wore a wicked smile on his face. "The little sailor brat, Sailor Sun." Sailor Sun looked from Kurai-ki to Dawn, quickly mounting the horse, she nudged her sides and got her to run out into the soccer field. Running over to the girls she stopped the horse. "What are you doing to them?" Sailor Sun demanded. "Oh just helping them with their dreams." Kurai-ki replied smugly. "Would you like some help with yours? I would gladly help you if you want." He offered. "Thanks for the offer but I already have enough nightmares to deal with without you helping me have more! I am Sailor Sun, the sailor scout of the red star that shines the brightest within the sol system! With the flames of the sun, and the power of fire, prepare to burn because I will punish you for making people live their greatest nightmares and fears!" Sailor Sun jumped off of Dawn and stood in her fighting stance. She then slapped the horse's rump, which startled her, so she ran off to the other soccer field. "I don't understand what those speeches prove, so why don't you stop doing them?" Kurai-ki demanded the answer from the slightly shorter red head, which stood in front of him. "They are kind of like a changing phrase, and they are fun to say." Sailor Sun replied smugly as she crossed her arms across her chest. "Alright, now that we have that pointless matter seen to can be start the fight? I want to destroy you while I'm young." Kurai-ki crossed his hands at the wrists, a glowing green energy emerged from his wrists. It made it's way towards Sailor Sun with an unpredictable speed. Barely managing to dodge the green energy, which moved skillfully this way and that. Sailor Sun stopped for a small moment to catch her breath, and within that small second the green energy was at her neck, grasping like a hand. Another strip of green energy made it's way for Sailor Sun's head, grasping onto the top of her head, Sailor Sun's eyes slowly began to get heavy. She tried and tried to fight the urge to let her eyes drop and fall into a deep sleep. 'I can't fall asleep, if I do I might not wake up again.' Sailor Sun fought some more, everything was going blank around her as her eyes shut. As she quickly dozed off into a dream she was suddenly awoke by a familiar voice. "DAYSTAR LASER LIGHT . . . . . STING!" Sailor Sun managed to open her eyes to see a blurry figure do a full turn around. When the figure was back facing the target he held his hands out in front of his stomach with his palm's facing upward. It then put his arms together and his hands began to glow with blue light. The light blasts from his hands. The light shot at Kurai-ki with a lot of force. The grasp around Sailor Sun neck and the urge to fall asleep disappeared so quickly that she didn't have enough time to catch herself before falling to the ground, she braced for impact. She opened her eyes and two blue eyes came into view, he heart skipped a beat as she realized who was holding her. "Ke . . . Kevin?" Sailor Sun asked quietly, still barely being able to believe her eyes. The Daystar Knight smiled down at Sailor Sun, he nodded his head and gently kissed Sailor Sun's forehead before setting her on the ground twenty feet away from Kurai-ki. Sailor Sun still dazed stood there without any movement, her eyes slowly began to well up with tears of joy. They rolled down her face as she went into her hero's arms. "You came, you came!" The tears still flowed down her face soaking the black uniform. He held her close and tried his best to quiet her. He rubbed his fingers through her hair, hugging her closer to his body. "Oh and who are you?" Kurai-ki demanded angrily as he held his wrists, there were scorch marks where the green energy once was. "I am the protector of the sailor scout of the red star the sun, fighting for the sol system and righting all wrong! So prepare yourselves because I will penalize you! I am the Daystar Knight" He stood proudly beside Sailor Sun. He turned to his princess and smiled then winked. "Ready to kick some bad guy butt?" Sailor Sun nodded her head, then wiped away the rest of her tears. "Ready?" She asked still being barely able to control the emotions, which were flooding her mind and heart. "Ready! You get him, and I'll see to those two girls." He smiled again then got ready for his next attack. Sailor Sun followed his lead. "SUN FIRE BEAM . . . . . BURN!" She stood with her legs together, then she put her hands together as if she were going to pray. She closed her eyes and slowly lifted her hands towards the sky. During this whole time Sailor Sun's hair was blowing fiercely around her. There was a bright flash of golden and orange light which caused her body to shimmer, then a large golden fireball spin around Sailor Sun. Then it turned and headed towards Kurai-ki. When it reached him the fire ball spun around the him a couple of times and each time the fireball got closer to his skin, burning it. He screamed in pain, Sailor Sun turned to face the Daystar Knight. "Your turn!" She said, a wide smile across her face, he nodded and turned to face the two girls, which were still in the "dream" state. The Daystar Knight stood with his right foot in front of his left. He held his hands above his head. His eyes were closed from the time he shouted out the phrase. DAYSTAR SHOWER CLOUD . . . . . PURIFY! When his eyes snapped open a blue rain cloud appeared over his head. He directed the cloud with his arms. As he moved his arm's slowly forward the cloud also moved. Once the cloud was over the targets it began to grow much bigger then what it was before. Then the Daystar Knight made his hands into fists and the clouds released the pure water. The water poured over the two victims cleansing them and making their heart and mind pure again. The two girls stopped what they were doing and stood there not knowing what to think of the situation, when they noticed Sailor Sun and the Daystar Knight they ran over to thank them. "So I get to meet Sailor Sun!" On of the girls screamed! "And who is this?" The other asked looking at the Daystar Knight with questioning eyes, please say that someone this cute isn't evil. "This is the Daystar Knight." Sailor Sun said as she stepped in between the wide-eyed girls and her boyfriend. "And no he isn't evil . . . or available." She added. The two girls turned towards Kurai-ki who had finally gotten ride of all of the fire, which had set his clothes a flame. The two girls screamed and ran off. "I'll be back again Sailor Sun, and not only am I going to destroy you, but that pretty boy of yours is also going to suffer." Kurai-ki disappeared in a swirl of leaves. "Oh now Alissa!" Sailor Sun put her hand to her mouth and looked around to make sure no one was around. She de-transformed, the Daystar Knight did the same. "She is the girl you talked about in your letters right?" Kevin asked as he held Jessica close once more. "That would be her, she is really nice, and you have to meet her." Jessica paused and looked around. "But first we have to find Dawn." She scanned the area for the golden horse. "Who is Dawn? You never wrote about her." Kevin looked with Jessica, even if he wasn't sure of whom he was looking for. "There she is!" Jessica ran over to a small brook, Dawn was there drinking the clear water. "Come here girl, time to go home." Jessica grabbed the horse's reins and swung her body up onto the horse. "So Dawn is a horse, well we had better get her back to Alissa then, I'm sure she is wondering where you two got off to." Kevin walked alongside Jessica and Dawn. * * * * * "Jessica!" Alissa put her hands around her mouth to help carry out her call longer. "Jessica where are you?" Alissa turned Glory around, she looked for the horses hoof marks in the dirt, but she couldn't find them. "Oh I give up!" Alissa said with a disappointed sigh. "You're going to give up on me that easily are you?" Jessica's voice was heard from behind Alissa, she spun the horse around to see Jessica, Dawn and Kevin. "There you are! What happened to you?" Alissa asked, her voice relived as she walked Glory over to Jessica. "I thought that you might have gotten lost or maybe even fallen off of Dawn and got knocked off or . . ." Jessica interrupted her friend. "Alissa don't worry, I'm okay, thanks to Kevin here!" Jessica looked down at Kevin who stood by the horse, his hands in his pockets he stood there quietly. She smiled a quick smile flashing his teeth quickly. "So this is the Kevin that Jessica talks about no stop, well I am pleased to meet you finally after hearing about you no stop for two weeks." Alissa leaned forward out reaching her hand. Kevin took her hand and shook it. "So you are Alissa, Jessica talks about you non stop in any of the letters that I have received from her." Kevin and Alissa shared a quick giggle, Jessica face slowly turned red. "Come on you two, I don't talk about you that much . . . do I?" Jessica asked her face still red. Kevin and Alissa giggled some more. "Come on lets get you two home, and hopefully neither of your horses will run off." Kevin looked up at Jessica and mouthed 'I love you.' Jessica smiled and mouthed it back. * * * * * "Kevin you can stay here with us if you like, after all you have decided to stay until we go back right?" Mrs. Walker asked as she put a plateful of food down in front of him. "Yes that would be very kind of you if you'd let me stay, and I could pay rent. Tomorrow I'm going out to look for a job." Kevin lifted his fork and began to eat his meal. "That would be wonderful!" Mrs. Walker went over to the back door. "Jon, Hannah! Time to come in!" The two kids ran into the kitchen and took their places at the table. Once they realized that Kevin was there they both jumped up and screamed at the same time. "Kevin!" They ran over and plopped down on his lap. Both giving him a big hug and not wanting to let go Mrs. Walker had to pry off their fingers one by one. Jessica was still smiling from ear to ear, she was so happy.
