Sailor Moon Millenium - The Rise of the Stellar Scouts Chapter # 8 - Blustry Weather : One Down Three To Go - Created May 15th, 2000 By K.W. Isenor (sailor_sun_@hotmail.com) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "A storm warning is being issued to the Metro area, so stay away from the water front and the two bridges will be blocked due to safety reasons. So stay inside and get your candles out for any blackouts that may happen." The news broadcaster's voice was heard on the radio. Jessica slouched back in her bed covers, Kevin sat at the foot of the bed. "Well we had better get some candles out, and just when I was hoping the watch a movie with you." Jessica crawled out of her bed and walked over to her dresser, opening the top drawer she pulled out seven candles, this should be enough to light my room if the power goes out don't you think?" "Jessica don't worry about it, the power won't go out anyway, it doesn't look that bad out." Kevin looked out the window, everything went dark. "Oh the power won't go out will it? It isn't that bad out." Jessica mocked as she walked over to where she was hoping her bed was. Tripping over Eclipse a large yep came from him. "Oh sorry Eclipse." Jessica apologized as she fell onto her bed with a loud thump. "Where are your matches?" Kevin asked, rustling from him standing up off the bed was heard. "They are on my bedside table." Jessica groped around in the dark trying to find her bedside table. "Got them." Kevin held them up then realizing that Jessica couldn't see them in his hand he slowly made his way over to the dresser, being extra careful that he didn't step on Eclipse. The match was struck across the back of the matchbook, a flame engulfed the tip. Kevin moved down to the candle carefully and lit each of the seven candles one by one. Jessica's room slowly lit up. "There now we don't have to sit in the dark." Kevin walked over to the bed and sat down by Jessica and Eclipse. "Yeah well the power might be off but what about the movie? What are we going to do now?" Jessica pouted as she rubbed between Eclipse's ears. The dog leaned into Jessica. "Well how about we talk." Kevin suggested as he moved closer to Jessica. "What are we going to talk about?" Jessica asked as she crossed her legs and hugged a pillow close to her chest. "Everything, tell me everything about school, your friends, family, scout business." Kevin pulled Jessica over so her head was resting on his shoulder. "I know you told me most of everything in you letters but I want to know what is new from your last letter, anything that you might have forgotten to write." Kevin kissed Jessica's forehead lightly. The room went silent as Jessica searched her head for memories. "Oh!" Jessica said suddenly. "I had this really weird dream! I was on the Sun and a golden flower floated down in front of me, I followed it and ended up in a maze. After going through the maze for sometime I came to a fountain. There I came across four female figures they told me that they were like me warriors, princesses, but unlike me they haven't been awakened. And they then said that I had to awaken them, that was my task." Jessica looked up into Kevin's loving eyes. He held her closer then looked from her to Eclipse. "I also have been having weird dreams, about the same thing pretty much." Kevin looked down into his lap. "I was told to help you awaken them, that is what made me come here." Eclipse stood up and walked across the bed towards Kevin. "You have been having the dreams too, why didn't you tell Jessica before?" Eclipse asked as he sat across from Kevin and Jessica. "I didn't want to say anything right now. I didn't want to bring scout business into all of this right now. I just wanted to spend some time with Jessica without having to worry about fighting evil for once." "Oh I see now." Eclipse looked up thoughtfully, the wind had started to howl outside, and branches were being brushed up against the window. Jessica got a chill and snuggled in closer to Kevin. "So we have to find four other Sailor Scouts that are from our time . . ." Jessica stopped what she was saying as the door creaked open, in walked Mrs. Walker with a flashlight in her right hand, and Jon and Hannah were at her other. "Okay good you got candles lit, I was just coming to check." Mrs. Walker walked into the room, followed by the two children that clung onto her other hand. "I'm putting these two to bed, do you have any extra candles?" "Yup, hold on they are in my closet somewhere." Jessica got up and walked over to her closet, as she opened it she was greeted with darkness, she fumbled around searching for the candles. Her fingers finally came across them. "Here they are." Pulling a basket out of the closet she handed it to her mother. "Here you go." "Thank-you Jessica." Hannah said quietly. "Yeah thank-you." Jon spoke up from behind his mother's leg. "You two should get to bed, I doubt there will be school tomorrow but still you both need your rest. Oh and Kevin you should come with me downstairs and we can get you the cot. You can sleep up here in Jessica's room tonight until we get all of those boxes out of the spare room." Kevin got up and followed Mrs. Walker down the dark hallway. Jessica crawled over to Eclipse. "How are we going to find four other scouts? How will we know if someone is a scout or not?" Jessica hugged one of her pillows closely to her chest again. "I'm not sure on that yet Jessica, maybe we will have to sit and wait. There is really nothing we can do." Eclipse set his head down on his paws. "You should get some rest like your mother said, you had a long day." Jessica nodded her head and crawled under her covers. Kevin entered the room with the cot in hand, he set it beside Jessica's bed. "Night." He said as he leaned over and kissed Jessica's forehead. He tucked the blankets in around her then crawled under the covers to his bed. * * * * * Jessica's eyes slowly fluttered open, the smell of bacon filled her nose, she breathed in the sweet smell. With a few yawns and some stretches Jessica sat up in her bed. She looked over at Kevin's bed, the blankets were all moved around, but there was no Kevin. "It is still pretty dark out." Jessica thought out loud as she gazed out the window. The wind was still howling, the rain was beating down hard and dark clouds loomed over head. Jessica slowly descended the stairs, laughter came from the kitchen. Jessica groggily entered the kitchen. Around the table sat her family, off to the side lay Eclipse. "No school huh?" Jessica asked as she plopped down in a chair beside Kevin. She rested her elbows on the table, then on her hands she rested her head. "No school, the power is out all over the city." Jessica's mother responded as she turned to face the counter. "Then how were you able to cook breakfast if the power is out?" Jessica looked oddly at her mother then down at the plates that sat in front of her two siblings and Kevin. "Oh your father dug out the camping gear which was stored in a couple of the boxes in the spare room." Mrs. Walker turned to face Kevin. "And speaking of the spare room you should be in there my Wednesday." A plate full of bacon, eggs and toast was set in front of Jessica. "So nothing works, no TV, radio, phone?" "That's right Jessica you will have to go without your cartoons and music for a day, but the phone still works, that usually doesn't go out when the power goes out." "Well what is the point of staying home from school if you can't watch the cartoons?" Jessica stated as she took a mouthful of bacon. "You still watch those silly children cartoons don't you? You're as bad as Jon and Hannah." Mrs. Walker sat down across from Kevin. "Well dad still does, so why can't I?" Jessica asked as she took a drink of orange juice. "I still do what?" Mr. Walker asked as he entered the room. He went over and kissed his wife on the head. "Good morning honey." He went over and got some coffee from the coffee perk. "You still watch cartoons when you get the chance." Jessica said as she set her fork down. "Yeah and what is wrong with that?" Mr. Walker turned to face his wife. "Harriet, what is wrong with watching cartoons?" Mr. Walker sat down beside his wife and put his arm around her shoulder. "You aren't helping any Jeffery." Mrs. Walker mumbled through her clenched teeth. "Don't encourage the children, set an example." She continued through her teeth. "Oh come on hon, you don't have to be so grownup all of the time, learn to relax and have some fun once in awhile." Mr. Walker leaned back in his chair and stretched. Mrs. Walker rolled her eyes giving up on her husband. "Well I'm going to have a really quick shower, I won't be too long so everyone will have a chance at a warm shower." Jessica set her plate on the counter by the sink and ran up the stairs and into the washroom. * * * * * "Why is it so dark outside?" Emperor Valico asked as he paced around his quarters. Before him stood Kurai-ki he stood there at attention, his hands at his sides and his head held high. "I believe there was what the humans call a power outage. All electricity has failed to work due to a really bad storm. The stupid humans are left in the darkness not knowing what to do next." Kurai-ki replied smugly. "I see, don't be so cocky! And you might as well do something, take this situation to your advantage. Go and attack! And remember I need those Heart Stones! I can't have you failing anymore." Emperor Valico came to a stop in front of Kurai-ki. "And you have to get that Sailor Sun out of commission! I can't have her getting in the way all of the time." "Yes, right away Emperor Valico. I already have a target picked out. If I can have you permission to go and work out the finer details I shall have a Heart Stone to you by the end of this day." "Yes go you are dismissed! Just don't fail!" Emperor Valico yelled in reply as he turned away and faced the small fountain in the center of the small barely lit room. "Right away." Kurai-ki did the customary bow and disappeared in a swirl of leaves and small twigs. The beast crawled out of the fountain's dark waters. "Something isn't right I fear! Kurai-ki will cause more problems if he carries out with this plan. But it is your call." The beast looked up at Emperor Valico's face. "I don't think so, why don't you go and chase your tail?" Emperor Valico smirked in the shadows, making sure that the beast before him didn't see. The beast got an enraged look on his face. "Oh you just wait Valico! You will have you time soon enough, and I will gladly help in your destruction!" The beast defended as he quickly crawled into the fountain into the dark unclear water. "I hate that stupid mongrel! He probably has fleas!" Emperor Valico clenched his fists at his side. He sighed angrily before turning away and walking down a long dark tunnel. * * * * * The phone rung loudly at Jessica's bedside. "I'll get it!" She yelled through the house. She picked up the phone and held it to her ear. "Hello." She spoke into the receiver. There was a pause then she spoke again. "Oh hi Alissa, so what do you think about this day without school?" Silence again. "Yeah it is great isn't it, too bad the television wasn't working. I miss watching the kid cartoons!" Silence. "A stove? I think we have an extra one. I can bring it up I don't think mom will mind." A long pause of silence. "Kevin can come too? Really?" Silence. "Yeah sure we will be up in a short while. Hopefully it won't be too long, it is a bit windy so that might slow us down a bit." Pause. "Yeah sure see you in a bit, bye." Jessica set the phone down on the receiver and turned to Kevin. "Do you want to go to Alissa's? It won't be for too long, I have to bring a stove up to her house, I guess my mom was talking to her mom from her hotel she is staying in on the road trip, and we have to go and bring the stove up." Kevin looked up from the book he was reading. "Yeah sure no problem. Lets get our coats on and head on over." Kevin set the book down on the cot. He rose from the mangled mess of blankets and walked to the door. Jessica followed him out her bedroom door and down the stairs to the closet. He handed Jessica her raincoat. "Thanks." She replied simply as she slipped on her coat. Kevin swung his on over his shoulders. "Mom, can I take the other smaller stove over to Alissa's? She is home alone and has no way of cooking any food." Jessica called through the house. "Yeah sure, come and get it, or better yet why don't you run over there and tell her to come over here for the night. There is no need of her staying alone on a day like this." Mrs. Walker replied as she walked into the entryway with a dishcloth in her hands. "I'll give her a quick call." Jessica ran into the living room and picked up the phone, quickly dialing the buttons of Alissa's number she held the phone to her ear. The phone rung twice then Alissa picked up. Just after Alissa said hello the phone at her house could be heard as it fell to the floor, Alissa's frightened scream filled Jessica's right ear, shortly after a sinister laugh could be heard. The phone cut out. Jessica looked at Kevin with worried eyes. She mouthed Kurai-ki, then turned towards her mother. "There is no answer there mom, I'll just run over. And we're taking Eclipse with us." Jessica, Kevin and Eclipse ran out the front door into the wind and rain. They ran as quickly as the strong wind would allow them to towards Alissa's house to come to her aid. Once they got clear of any house's windows they hid and held up their transformation items. "SOLARIS STAR . . . . . POWER!" Jessica then closed her eyes. The Solaris Medallion disappeared into many little orange and gold sparkles, this caused her body to shimmer the colors of the sparkles as they fell onto her body. Then her silver tiara appeared with the red jewel in the center. The jewel then emitted a blinding flash of orange light that surrounded Jessica giving her the feeling of the bright morning sun on her body. Then a swirl of orange and gold sparkles warped around her body moving upward as it spun around her body. The body suit of her uniform then appeared. And the bows came out of the heart in the center of her chest. Sparkling golden rings then went around her feet forming boots. Then more sparkling rings went around her arms forming her gloves. Soon afterward the golden sparkles went around her waist forming her skirt. At that point there was a large burst of golden sparkles that flew up into the air, when the sparkles fell to the ground Sailor Sun was then revealed fully transformed. She did her transformation pose. She stood there with one hand across her forehead and the other across her stomach with her legs together. Her long red hair then blew to the side. Kevin held his transformation wand above his head. He stood with his legs together and his eyes closed. He shouted out the phrase and was surrounded by a black mist. DAYSTAR COSMIC . . . . . POWER! The mist wrapped around counter clockwise around his body covering him from the eye. When the mist faded away Kevin was only a shadow. Then was an explosion above his head and small glittering yellow and maroon sparkles fell over his shoulders and his long cape appeared around his shoulders. Then with a bright flash of golden light his armor appeared. Then he held his right arm to the sky and opened his eyes. Once his eyes were open a large powerful silver sword appeared in his hand, he then slid the saber into it's proper spot on his belt. * * * * * Alissa ran across her back lawn terrified, she kept looking over her shoulder, Kurai-ki followed closely behind. She ran into the barn and shut the large door behind her and ran and hid under the stairs behind a stack of hay. She sat there huddled up in a ball. The horses frightened neighs came from the barn, Alissa knew that the strange man was getting closer. She huddled closer to the wall. She tried so hard not to make any noises' She had to hold back her frightened cries as the tears poured down her face. "Come out, come out where ever you are!" Kurai-ki's voice could be heard close by, Alissa cowered, she buried her face in her knees. She had to bite her lower lip so she wouldn't cry out in fear. "Oh come I know where you are." Kurai-ki's voice had gotten closer, it seemed as if her were on top of Alissa. The frightened girl spun her head around trying to find out where his voice was coming from. "Peek-a-boo!" Alissa turned quickly to see Kurai-ki sitting behind her, she screamed in fear and jumped up and knocked him and the bales of hay over. She picked herself up from the floor and ran out of the tack room. She ran down the aisle looking in ever direction. As she was looking behind her for Kurai-ki she ran into someone or something hard. Their strong arms wrapped around her body not letting her move. She moved frantically to get out of their grasp. "It's okay, your safe now, there is no need to be afraid." Alissa looked up and moved her hair from her eyes. There she was in the Daystar Knight's arms. And beside him stood Sailor Sun. Alissa quickly strengthened herself out and brushed her hair away from her face. "Thank-you so much, and I am honored to have finally meet you Sailor Sun!" Alissa shook Sailor Sun's hand then gave her a big hug. The tears had stopped now and her eyes were starting to dry up. "Watch out!" The Daystar Knight yelled as he pushed Sailor Sun and Alissa to the cold hard cement. He blocked them with his body as Kurai-ki's attack flew over their heads. "Oh now come on Daystar, why do something like that? You always make this no fun! Lighten up a bit! There is no need to protect them, they are both big girls and can take care of themselves." Kurai-ki stepped closer to the three figures on the floor. The Daystar Knight stood up quickly and got into his fighting stance, Sailor Sun followed his lead. Alissa crawled into the nearest stall and hind in a far corner. "Come on really. This is too easy." With those words Kurai-ki lifted his hand and a green vine came from his palm, it wrapped around Sailor Sun and the Daystar Knight. The vine bound them closely together. The vine slowly tightened, slowly cutting through their clothing or skin. They tried to struggle free, but the more they tried to resist the stronger the hold became on them. "Well now that I got these two out of the way I can see to getting my Heart Stone." Kurai-ki walked over to the stall door. With his powers he opened the door without even touching it, the horse stood back startled. Alissa cowered in the corner. Alissa suddenly felt herself floating up from where she was curled up in a ball. She lifted her head and realized what was happened, she tried to move but her limbs felt so heavy. She tried to scream in fear, she couldn't do that either. "I don't even have to put you into one of my little dreams, this is like taking candy from a baby." Kurai-ki stopped Alissa before him, he kept her suspended in the air while he started to take the Heart Stone from her chest. Eclipse tried to lunge at Kurai-ki's arm but it was in vain, for he too suddenly found himself in the same situation as Sailor Sun and the Daystar Knight. Alissa slowly got more feeling in her body as Kurai-ki pulled the Heart Stone from her chest. She got enough energy to scream her body surged with energy. Knocking Kurai-ki to the cement floor. Alissa sat there as her Heart Stone fell to the floor. The vines that held Sailor Sun, the Daystar Knight and Eclipse together broke from the blast of energy. They tumbled to the floor unexpectedly. Alissa watched as the Heart Stone feel closer to the floor. She barely had any energy. Her eyes began to close then she got this impulse to keep her eyes open. The white transparent Heart Stone floated down until it was level with her eyes. It moved back into her chest and her forehead began to glow a silver color. A symbol appeared on her head. "A Sailor Scout?" Sailor Sun asked herself in disbelief. "It can't be." She gasped. "Wait yes it can, my dream. Alissa is one of the princesses, warrior's that I had to awake!" Eclipse quickly stood up and walked over to Alissa, her body was starting to become covered by a turquoise aura. Alissa stood up and from above her head like a sudden storm a transformation medallion appeared it landed in the palm of Alissa's hand. She knew what to do after instantly holding it in her hand. "POLLUX STAR . . . . . POWER!" Alissa shouted out the phrase as she held her transformation item above her head. Alissa then closed her eyes then her transformation wand disappeared. Her hair was then lifted off of her shoulders. I strong gust picked up and swirled around her. Then her silver tiara appeared with the white jewel in the center. The jewel them emitted a blinding flash of gray light that surrounded Alissa giving her the feel of a warm spring breeze blowing through her hair and across her face. Then the swirling air divided into rings and two rings went around her body moving upward as it spun around her body. The body suit of her uniform then appeared. And the bow came out of the heart in the center of her chest. Gray rings of air went around her feet forming boots. Then more gray rings went around her arms forming her gloves. Soon afterward the gray air went around her waist forming her skirt. At that point the wind picked up greatly, her hair was blowing wildly. From above a tornado came down and circled around Alissa blocking her from view. When the tornado died down and her hair slowly dropped back resting on her shoulders. Sailor Pollux was reveled fully transformed. She did her transformation pose. Her pose was her standing with both of her hands on her cheeks, looking very innocent and harmless. Her head was tilted a little bit to the side. Her legs were apart, one was a little ahead then the other. Sailor Sun, Eclipse, and the Daystar Knight all looked at Alissa wearing her new uniform. On her face she had the same shocked look as the others. She glanced down at her Sailor Scout uniform. Starting at the top she had a silver tiara like Sailor Sun, the tiara was set with a white stone. Around her neck was a dark blue choker in the center of the choker was a silver star jewel it was generally round but had small points. She didn't wear any earrings. The shoulder flap made up with two colors, silver and turquoise, it was set up with the silver at the top and the turquoise below it. It had one thin white stripe. The shoulder's on her uniform were set up like Sailor Sun's it had transparent shoulder guards at each shoulder. The bow on her chest was the same blue as her choker. Again like Sailor Sun she had a heart in the center of her bow. The color of the heart was a deep blue, even darker then the blue of her bow. Then the body of her uniform was the customary white color. The bow in the back of her uniform was the same color as the bow in front, and it was long, going down to her knees. Her gloves were white and went up to her elbow. The rings on the gloves were turquoise. Her skirt was also turquoise and silver like her collar. The turquoise was at the top and the silver is at the bottom. It kind of had a zig zag thing going on. She wore dark blue knee-length boots. The trim around the top of the boot was silver. Then in the center on the trim there is the symbol of her star that was silver. A groan came from Kurai-ki as he slowly made his way to his feet. Once he looked at Sailor Pollux his eyes went wide. "Not another! And what happened to the girl? She had the Heart Stone." Kurai-ki stared at Sailor Pollux. Everything slowly processed in his mind. "Wait you are that girl!" "I am the sailor scout of the storm planet, Pollux, fighting with an un- stoppable rage like a hurricane! With the power of the air which surrounds you. So beware for I control the north, east, south and west winds!" Sailor Pollux got into a fighting stance, Sailor Sun and the Daystar Knight followed the new scouts lead. "All together now!" Sailor Sun yelled as she prepared to fire an attack. The Daystar Knight and Sailor Pollux both nodded their heads. "SUN SOLAR FLARES . . . . . BURN!" "DAYSTAR LASER LIGHT . . . . . STING!" Their two attacks combined together and headed towards Kurai-ki. Sailor Pollux got ready for her attack, she got the sudden longing to call out her attack phrase. "POLLUX STORM TORNADO . . . . . SPIN!" Sailor Pollux stood with her legs apart. Her hands were clasped across her chest. Her head was bowed and her eyes were closed. Then her eyes snapped open as her neck straightened. She put her hands above her head and a strong wind picked up. Sailor Pollux's hair and uniform blew wildly in the wind. She turned her wrist and a gray tornado came down from above. It surrounded her then she put her hands directly in front of her chest and the tornado spun out towards Kurai-ki. The three attacks combined together just before hitting Kurai-ki. He screamed out in pain as he tried to block the attack with his crossed arms. Once the blinding light that the attacks had caused died down Kurai-ki stood there on wobbly legs. He slowly fell to the ground. Laying there his body slowly disappeared in a golden and black swirl of energy. The three soldiers stood there breathing deeply from the battle. Sailor Sun turned to Sailor Pollux, she still wore a shocked expression on her face. "I still can't believe this!" Sailor Sun looked at her friend's new uniform. Eclipse stepped up from behind the two scouts. "So you are Sailor Pollux, glad to meet you Princess." Eclipse bowed before the shocked Sailor Pollux. "A talking dog?!" She stared wide-eyed. "This can't possibly get any weirder! Not only am I a Sailor Scout but so is Jessica, and let me guess this man here is Kevin!" She turned to face the Daystar Knight, he nodded his head in agreement. "And now there is a talking dog!" Sailor Pollux put her hands to her face and held them there. "You think all this is weird, wait until I tell you about the talking cats!" Sailor Sun said as she nudged her friend's side playfully. "Come on why don't you come up and spend the night?" Sailor Sun asked as she de-transformed back into her regular clothes. "There are talking cats?! I guess I spoke too soon!" Sailor Pollux de-transformed and shook her head. "Well let's get over to your place, because this is going to take awhile to explain everything to me." Jessica laughed as she swung her arm over Alissa's shoulder, the two girls and the two guys walked towards Alissa's house so she could get overnight clothes then made their way over to Jessica's house.
