Sailor Moon Millenium - The Rise of the Stellar Scouts Chapter # 11 - Kurai-ki's New Plan : Trauma Life In The ER - Created June 5th, 2000 By K.W. Isenor (sailor_sun_@hotmail.com) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The tall read head dashed down the empty halls grumbling to herself as she turned another corner towards a set of stairs. "I hate my locker!" She said to herself as she grabbed the banister and skipped every other step. In her hands she held her books, over her shoulder she had her open book bag. She held the jumbled up mess in her arms carefully so not to let any of the loose paper fly free from her grasp. "Why does it always have to take such a long time to open? What a great way to start off October!" She grumbled as she rounded the last corner to her classroom. She soon found herself sitting on the cold tile floor in a mess of her long red hair, pen's, pencil's and loose papers. She parted her hair from her eyes and threw it over her head, it want back to its normal resting place, a bit more mess then usual though. She looked up to see who or what she had run into. She sighed a deep angry sigh as she collected her things, which were scattered across the floor. "Jason." She simply said as she crawled across the floor and stuffing her books and papers and whatever else had flew out of her book bag. "It had to be you didn't it?" She angrily asked. "Well I'm glad to see you too." He said a bit hurt as he crossed his arms across his chest. He did somewhat of a pouting thing with his lips. "Do you want any help?" He asked crossly. "No I'm fine don't worry about it, besides I almost have everything now. She reached for a pencil at Jason's feet, the young boy also reached as his hand placed on Jessica's small one. She quickly snatched it away, then the bell rang. "Oh great I'm really late, that was the second bell! Not good!" She turned from the red bell that hung high on the wall and glared up at Jason. "Are you late for class too?" She grumbled. "Nope, just running the slip down to the office." He held it up and ran over it with his eyes. "And your name is here because you are late." Jessica reached up and snatched it from his grasp. She put it up to the wall and scribbled out her name quickly. "There now I won't get a detention." She turned and made her way down the hall towards her math class. "Not unless I tell the office!" Jason threatened. Jessica swung around quickly and looked at Jason with wide eyes. "You wouldn't!" She exclaimed, as her eyes were full of worry. "Why not? We didn't eat lunch on Monday like you said we would in fencing class the other day." He paused and looked down at the form. "But I'm sure I can let this all pass if you let me by you lunch, we can go to the new little Café that opened in the beginning of last month, so how about it?" Jessica sighed in defeat and nodded her head "yes". Jason quietly mumbled under his breath. "Yeah." But it was just loud enough for Jessica to hear. "Now don't go thinking that this is a date, because it isn't!" Jessica pointed out. Jason nodded his head. "Yeah I know it isn't a date. We can go as "friends" if you would like, how about that?" He asked as he shoved the small slip of paper into his pocket and turned and walked down the hall. "Meet me at the front doors at five after eleven. I'll be waiting!" "Yeah sure." Jessica walked into the math room, the gray door was then closed behind her. * * * * * "Emperor Valico, if I may I would like your permission to go through with this mission. It won't take place right away, but once it does happened it will be worth it! I'm sure that I will be beaten a few times, but I will also gain from this, I'm going to be attacking all over the city." Kurai-ki stood before the impatient Emperor, by the look on his face you could tell that he wanted Kurai-ki to get on with it. "Anyway, I'm going to make different minions and they will help me with this task. Since there are only three, and they are weak alone, there will be a good number of the different minions spread out in different random part of the city in order to get the Heart Stones." "And maybe during this whole collecting Heart Stones to make the full plan come together I might even come across some of the six. And if not I will be surely be able to get the six once this whole city is covered in . . ." The finger of Emperor Valico then silenced Kurai-ki. "You can carry out this plan, I give you thirty full earth days from today to get enough of the Hear Stones." Kurai-ki's face then lit up. "And to help you with the plan as soon as you get a Heart Stone you can but them into this orb. It will be impossible to get the Heart Stones out of it unless you have the key, and they cannot have that because it isn't possible." With a snap of his fingers a glowing orb appeared. It was a deep green with what appeared to be streaks of blood red throughout it. The orb also throbbed and gave off a faint humming sound. "Take this and it will guarantee that you will not lose the Heart Stones once you obtain on of the stones." The orb floated over to Kurai-ki he held his hand out and the orb circled around him then hovered above his hand. "You can command it to follow you, it will do what you command." The beast spoke from the shadows. Kurai-ki turned to look at the dog like creature that stepped out of the fountain. "Just tell it what to do and it will follow every command that you give it." The young demon turned to the orb that was hovering above his hand and smiled smugly. "Follow me." He commanded, the orb flashed then as Kurai-ki walked away the orb hovered behind him like a little puppy dog. "Perfect." He spoke as he turned down one of the dark tunnels. * * * * * The bell rang for lunch. Jessica's face went from a wide smile and glowing eyes to annoyed eyes and a big frown. "What's wrong?" Alissa asked as she slid her books into her book bag. She looked at her friend with questioning eyes. "Well I ran into Jason in the hall today and he somewhat blackmailed me." Jessica said with a deep sigh. She slung her shoulder book bag over her back and walked towards the door with the rest of the students. "What did he say?" Alissa asked as the two girls maneuvered their way through the full halls towards their lockers. Jessica struggled again with her locker. "Well I don't really have time to say." She said as she looked down at her watch quickly. Tell everyone I'm sorry, I'll tell you all later." Jessica shut her locker door and walked towards the front of the school. "Bye." Alissa called out. Jessica just waved her head above the crowd of students that were all heading out to lunch or to an extra help class for math. Jessica swung open the doors and was greeted by Jason. "Your late Miss. Walker." Jason said as he looked down at his watch and tapped it. "I guess this lunch had better be really good or I'll have to tell someone about your secret! I'm the only one that knows about your deep dark secret." Jason threatened. "You wouldn't! And besides I'm only a minute late for crying out loud!" Jessica yelled in reply. As the fear of going public about being a Sailor Senshi. She held her fist up to Jason's face. "You had better not tell on me!" "Calm down, I was just joking, you had better relax! You are too edgy! It wasn't like I was really going to turn you into the office!" Jason said a bit startled as he backed away. "What?" Jessica asked a bit confused. She then realized that she had taken everything the wrong way. She sighed with relief. "Sorry, I thought that you were talking about something else." Jessica apologized. "Anyway do you know what you are going to get?" Jessica asked quickly changing the topic. "Oh I don't know, I'm sure I can find something that I will like! I will eat almost anything, the only thing I won't eat is liver! It is so gross!" Jason opened the gate that led to the outdoor patio of the café. "Right after you miss." Jessica walked through and looked around, she picked a table in the shade of the wall. It was also a bit out of the way. "Do you mind sitting in the shade? I don't feel like being burnt to a crisp." "Oh no problem, I know how you must feel, look at all of that beautiful hair! It must make you some hot in the summer! I would roast with all of that on me!" The waiter came and asked them what they wanted, Jessica and Jason gave their order. "Be ready in five minutes." She said as she vanished into the café. Jessica leaned back in her chair and began to relax. Jessica then got a sudden sense of danger as she looked around she couldn't see where it was coming from, but she could feel something wrong, and it was close by. The waiter then set the two plates in front of the two students. "Enjoy." She said then she disappeared into the café again. "Looks good!" Jason said as he took a mouthful of fries. Jessica tried around her fries with her fork, she still had a feeling that something was either going to happen or was happening. She looked down at her watch. "11:20." It read. She took in a couple of forkfuls of her salad. She looked up at Jason; she forced a smile on her lips. "Good." She said quietly as she stared up into the sun, wondering, what was that which she felt? * * * * * "Jessica, Brooke, Lindsey, and Britney." The science teacher formed groups; Jessica walked over to the familiar face of Brooke. The two other girls walked over. Lindsey had purple hair that went just past her shoulders, it was in two braids in the back of her had, each just be hind her ears. Her small matching purple eyes flickered with shyness. She was shorter then Jessica, a small nervous smile was on her face. Britney had medium length dirty blonde hair. She had almond shaped eyes; she wore dark eyes shadow and a glossy lipstick. She walked over and stood beside Jessica. "Hi!" She said rather loudly. "Alright listen up guys and girls." The teacher spoke from the front of the class. "The groups of four which you have been placed in are going to be your lap partners for the rest of this term, so get to know them and like them." Moans and groans came from various students who were obviously upset with the members of their group. "If there are any problems." The teacher paused; he glanced around at the students. "Tough!" He said bluntly. "These are your groups and you are stuck with them, I picked them for a reason so get used to it!" Talking broke out throughout the entire class, Britney was the first to speak in Jessica's group. "Well all of you seem to be nice, I'm sure that we will get along fine!" She said loud again. Lindsey shifted nervously, hugging her books closer to her chest. "Alright everyone gather up your books because we are all going to the Biology lab for an experiment, and tomorrow just go to the lab before coming to the class. I don't want this lab to take forever." The teacher walked out of the class and shut off the light, all of the students followed some still complaining. Britney talked the entire way down the hall; Lindsey followed without saying a word. Brooke was a bit uncomfortable but at least she would smile every now and then, and add in her word. Then there was Jessica who silently walked down the hall, thinking to herself about that feeling she had gotten earlier during lunch. She hadn't gotten to talk to Alissa about it yet, but she would because she had next class with her. Maybe something had happened, or maybe she had just gotten a vibe and taken it the wrong way. * * * * * Jessica walked in through her front door. She had got a chance to talk to Alissa about her feeling that she had gotten during lunch, Alissa said that she hadn't felt anything different. Jessica decided to shrug it off. "Come here quick Jessica!" Mrs. Walker called through the house; her voice came from the living room. Jessica then began to think the worse; she grabbed the transformation wand out of her pocket, holding it in her hand she ran into the living room. Her mother sat there watching the news broadcast. "Today at 11:20 there were many incidents of people fainting in the metro area. We have people trying to figure out the problem, many signs are pointing towards low iron accounts, there have been five people that have been brought into the hospital by noon, right now there are around 17 . . ." Mrs. Walker turned off the TV, she turned to her daughter. "I don't see how all of a sudden so many people will just faint in the streets because of low iron, it might be the water, or food poisoning." Mrs. Walker stood up and walked to the kitchen. 'No mom it isn't the water or the food, but Kurai-ki.' Jessica thought to herself as she turned away, her eyes became blank. 'But how, without setting off your brooch's?' She asked herself. Her thought was broken by her mother voice. "Make sure you drink the bottled water just in case." Mrs. Walker opened the fridge to see how much water was in the fridge, two containers. "This should do us for awhile." She said while shutting the fridge. "Where is Kevin?" Jessica asked as she looked around the house, she hadn't seen him anywhere down stairs. "Kevin is upstairs, you should go and help him unpack, it shouldn't take too long with your help. He also got a job today, he can tell you more about that." Jessica left the kitchen and ran up the stairs, setting her book bag by her door she ran down the hall and into the guestroom. Kevin stood up from where he was bent over a box, on the side was marked "Text Books". "Have you heard?" Jessica asked worried. Kevin shook his head 'no'. "Seventeen people are in the hospital, they are saying it is due to low iron accounts, but I got a really weird feeling like something bad was happening, I think that Kurai-ki has something to do with this." Jessica's voice was beginning to wine, she was starting to form tears in her eyes. "Come here." Kevin pulled Jessica into his chest, he stroked her hair. "Let's go down to the hospital and we can try to use your brooch to see if their state is caused because Kurai-ki has taken their Heart Stone." Jessica nodded, wiping the tears away. Just then Eclipse walked in. "Alissa is here and she seems to be in a state! Go to your room quick Jessica, she wouldn't tell me what was wrong, the tears were just streaming down her face." Jessica ran out of Kevin's room and down the hall a little way, she swung open her door and there Alissa sat on Jessica's bed with thick tears streaming down her face wetting the shirt she wore. "What's wrong?" Jessica asked as she ran to her friends side and but a comforting arm around her shoulders. Kevin and Eclipse came in too. Alissa looked up from her lap, she opened her mouth, but nothing came from her lips. "Mr. and Mrs. Edward's are in the hospital!" She final managed to get past her lips. Jessica looked up at Kevin, the tall blonde man bent down and got Alissa to stand, he hugged her tightly, trying to make all of her fears go away. He gently rubbed her back. "Tha . . . thank-you Kevin." Alissa mumbled as she finished wiping tears from her eyes. She looked at her three friends. A small smile spread across her lips. "We were just talking about heading on over to the hospital to see if Kurai-ki has caused this, because earlier today I got this really weird feeling that something was happening, and that was around the same time that the people started to come into the hospital." Jessica explained. "You going to the hospital?" Alissa asked as she sniffled and dried her eyes on her sleeve. "So we can get to the bottom of this, and if Kurai-ki is behind all of this then I will personally kick his ass!" "That is the Alissa we have all come to love!" Jessica said as she lead her friend out of her bedroom; they went down the stairs. "Mom we are going to the hospital, Mr. and Mrs. Edward's are in there, so we are going to go and check on them." Jessica called as herself, Kevin, Alissa and Eclipse went out the door. * * * * * "This is actually working! And those stupid senshi haven't shown up yet!" Kurai-ki stood in his chamber's, before him he had an image of the city, he had the map zoomed in on the hospital emergency. "They are dropping like flies, my minions are doing all of my dirty work!" He stared at the image before, more people were being rushed in. "I can't believe that they are saying that all of this is caused by a flu now! First the water, then the food, now a flu! I wish I could go out there and announce that I am the cause of all of this!" The orb throbbed by Kurai-ki's head. "Soon, soon you will have everything that you need." Kurai-ki turned to the throbbing orb, it flashed as if it understood what Kurai-ki had said. He ran his hand through his black hair and stretched his green wings. "These things are getting cramped, I should use them more often." Kurai-ki turned to look at his wings, they found it hard to stretch out to their full length. "So I will be able to fly freely without having to worry about those pesky senshi!" Kurai-ki turned and walked off into the darkness, the throbbing orb followed closely behind. * * * * * "Room 117." The nurse at the front desk said as she flipped through her notebook. "And you don't have to worry about catching the flu, because as of now it isn't contagious, but just make sure you don't put your hands around your face just to be safe. "How do we get there?" Jessica asked as she looked at the various signs that hung along the hallways. She couldn't see the number listing anywhere. The nurse stood up and walked over to the far hallway on the left. "You just go down this hall, turn right, go past the next intersection and then make a hard left and you will be there. And if you end up going up any stairs then you have made a wrong turn, it is on this main floor." The nurse explained as she pointed. "Thank-you very much." Alissa said as she headed down the hall at a rushed pace, Jessica and Kevin followed. "Alissa brought her brooch which was hidden in her sleeve up to her mouth. "Room 117 Eclipse, it is on the harbor side." Alissa put her brooch into her pocket and walked down the halls making a right and continuing straight. Finally without making any wrong turns they made it to the room. "Here it is." Jessica said as she opened the door carefully. There in the two beds lay the unconscious Mr. and Mrs. Edward's. Alissa ran to their side and hugged them. Jessica ran over to the window and let Eclipse in. The large dog walked over to the two hospital beds. "Put your brooches up to their chest and if they start to flash then they have had their Heart Stone taken from them." Eclipse explained. Jessica held hers up to Mr. Edwards while Alissa held hers up to Mrs. Edwards. They held them there, there was no flashing from either of the items. "Odd." Eclipse said as he looked down at the two almost lifeless figures lying on the white sheets, the only signs of life was the rise and fall of their chest. "What?" Kevin asked. "Look at this mark on their wrist's, was this here before Alissa?" Eclipse asked as he pointed out the green mark, it was a Japanese symbol. Jessica thought in her head, trying to remember what it stood for. "That symbol means tree!" Jessica said as she finally remembered. She looked down at their wrists. "What did it come from?" Jessica asked as she ran her fingers over the almost glowing symbol. "Whatever did this to you, I will see that it is put to an end!" Alissa said as she stood up bravely. "When Kurai-ki shows his face I'm going to get him for this. And he will be so sorry that he picked the wrong girl to mess with!" Alissa vowed. After sitting there waiting by Mr. and Mrs. Edwards side it was supper time, Kevin had ran out to the near by fast food restaurant. They ate their supper in the hospital. Alissa turned to her three friends. "Thank-you guys, you have stayed here by their side with me, I am very grateful for all of this." She paused. "I have already asked the nurse if I could stay here and they said yes, you three should be getting home, even if it is a Friday night, you should be home in your beds, not sitting here in the hospital." "Come on Alissa you know that we aren't going to leave you hear alone, what if Kurai-ki shows up? I'm not about to let you kick some butt without me!" Jessica stated as she stood up. "Yeah come on Alissa, you will need the company!" Kevin added. Eclipse nodded his head in agreement as he continued to look at Mr. and Mrs. Edwards wrists trying to make heads or tails of the marking and how it had effected them. Alissa suddenly awoke from where she was slouched over in a chair. Jessica, Kevin and Eclipse were all still asleep. The young blonde then head something out in the hall, she stood up and walked over to the door, she quietly turned to the handle and peered through the small crack. There she saw a nurse folding sheets. 'Nothing to worry about.' She thought to herself as she turned and walked back over to where she was sleeping. Just as she had the door closed she headed something smash to the floor. Alissa ran back over to the door and swung it open, there in the hall she was greeted by a blinding light which only lasted for a few seconds, the nurse then feel to her knees, Alissa saw something, a males figure standing in front of the woman's body. "Kurai-ki!" Alissa whispered, the demon continued down the hall, a throbbing orb followed, he lifted his hand to the orb and a Heart Stone floated up into it, the orb flashed extremely fast for five seconds then went back to it's normal rate of throbbing. Alissa ran into the room, shut the door once again and ran to Jessica's side, she fiercely shook her friend to get her to awake. "What? What is it?" The still half asleep red head asked as she slowly opened her eyes. "He's here!" Alissa whispered. Jessica shook her head and ran her hand through her mangled hair. "Who, who is here?" She asked confused. "Kurai-ki! He is the cause, and he just took a Heart Stone from a nurse! There is this throbbing ball like thing following him too! He is going to take everyone's Heart Stone that has been effected! We have to do something!" Alissa looked over at Mr. and Mrs. Edwards with worried eyes. "Calm down Alissa, lets wake Kevin and Eclipse and we will go after him!" Jessica said as she rose to her feet. She fumbled around in the dark trying to find her transformation medallion. She turned to Kevin and kissed him gently on the forehead. "Come on time to get up." While Jessica woke Kevin Alissa was trying to get the big Doberman pincher awake. Finally the heavy Doberman awoke. All at once Jessica, Kevin and Alissa held their transformation items above their heads and called out their phrases. "SOLARIS STAR . . . . . POWER!" "DAYSTAR COSMIC . . . . . POWER!" "POLLUX STAR . . . . . POWER!" In a mass of swirling sparkles, mist and gray rings of air the three soldiers were transformed. "Alright lets go and kick some Kurai-ki butt!" Sailor Pollux said as she raised her hand above her head. * * * * * Kurai-ki walked into the various hospital rooms, taking the helpless victims Heart Stones and "feeding" them to his orb, which throbbed behind him. "This is so easy, and I don't have to worry about those stupid senshi, maybe they too have been infected, and if so I can take their Heart Stone and that will make this whole process much easier!" The demon walked into another room and took a Heart Stone from an old man, he groaned for a second then he went back to the lifeless state he was in before. "This is working so well that I don't think that I will have to make this entire city go into a deep sleep, where they live their greatest fears over and over in their heads." A sinister laugh escaped from his dark lips, it echoed through the empty halls, Kurai-ki had taken a Heart Stone from almost everyone on the first floor. He had to turn back around to where he attacked the nurse in the hall and go down to the right. * * * * * Sailor Sun, the Daystar Knight, Sailor Pollux and Eclipse ran down the empty dark halls of the hospital in the direction Kurai-ki was last seen heading down. The turned a last corner and there Kurai-ki was exiting a room, he held out his hand and gave the orb the Heart Stone, just as Alissa had seen it before it throbbed quickly as it received the energy from the Heart Stone. "Hold it right there!" Sailor Sun called out as she boldly stepped forth, to her right was the Daystar Knight, to her left was Sailor Pollux, and right in front of her was Eclipse, the dog bearded his teeth at the villain that stood before them. "Oh the sailor scouts, it is about time you showed your face! I was looking for a bit of a challenge, it isn't as much fun when you just go and take the Heart Stones from the almost lifeless bodies." Kurai-ki folded his arms across his chest, a smug smile spread across his lips. "How dare you attack these poor sick or injured people! They have no way to fight back for they are already too weak, some people here are dying as it is! Then you come in here and attack them! I think this is the lowest thing you have ever done Kurai-ki!" Sailor Pollux yelled at the top of her lungs, an angered look came across her face. "Well I try my best to do what I can." Kurai-ki replied without his stance changing or the smug look disappearing from his face. "Now are you going to get on with it?" Sailor Pollux ran at Kurai-ki at full speed, she reached out her arm to punch Kurai-ki in the stomach. The green demon dodged without much effort. "Oh now come on, you have to have more then that!" He mocked the blonde haired scout. Sailor Sun and the Daystar Knight plunged forward, they both started to swing their fists madly at the demon before them. Sailor Pollux ran at Kurai-ki and jumped on his back, he turned and tried to fling her off. He then opened his wings and flung the senshi towards the elevator, she crashed through and landed in a mass of wires, blood trickled down her face. Sailor Sun turned from Kurai-ki to her friend. "Sailor Pollux!" She screamed, she turned quickly from her fallen friend to the demon before her, she took one swift punch and hit Kurai-ki in the jaw. Eclipse jumped and tore Kurai-ki's ankle, he screamed out in pain. He looked at the soldiers with angered eyes, he flung them off and dove into the elevator, the orb followed. Smashing could be heard above, Sailor Sun, the Daystar Knight and Eclipse all ran to the elevator shaft, they looked down, there Sailor Pollux lay on the basement floor badly hurt. From high above the elevator had started to move down at an extremely fast speed, Sailor Sun jumped into the shaft, she wrapped her arms around Sailor Pollux. Looking up at the elevator which was coming closer, and closer, it was almost on top of them, she scout of the sun struggled to get her friend and fellow scout to safety, she didn't have enough time. Just as the elevator was on top of them Sailor Sun was surrounded by a golden aura. "SUN BUBBLE . . . . . TRANSPORT!" In a blink of an eye they were gone, the elevator crashed to the floor, the Daystar Knight and Eclipse jumped down to the rubble and started lifting off pieces of mangled metal. Sailor Sun and Sailor Pollux then appeared kneeling on the floor just a few feet away from the elevator. "Jessica!" The Daystar Knight called as he pulled away pieces among pieces of the metal. He then felt hands cover his eyes, he instantly knew that they belonged to his love. He turned and kissed Sailor Sun fully on the lips, he carried her out and back up to the surface where Sailor Pollux lay, Eclipse jumped up after them. Suddenly Kurai-ki's voice was heard from high above. "Next time!" He screamed. "You will all be mine next time! I will get all of the Heart Stones from every living being in this stupid city!"
