Sailor Moon Millenium - The Rise of the Stellar Scouts Chapter # 13 - Retirement : The Scout Without A Name - Created June 23th, 2000 By K.W. Isenor (sailor_sun_@hotmail.com) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jessica sat on a small stone bench, a willow tree grew beside her, it's long branches reached down towards the purple water, which sat at Jessica's feet. The water was still, everything around her was still. In the breeze a small yellow flower drifted by in front of her face. It was one of the star shaped flowers that the Daystar Knight would give her, they were called a Sunrose. Her head turned in the direction the flower continued to be blown. She arose from where she sat and followed the small flower. It led her to a corridor, it reached down as far as the eye could see. The small flower blew down the corridor, almost disappearing into the shadows Jessica began to run towards it. She ran and she ran, until she was stopped by a voice. The voice called her name, but not her name in which she was known to her family, but the name in which only the Sailor Scouts knew of. The voice called out again, "Princess Cassandra Solaris." She looked around startled. "Who's there?" She asked as she looked around, she did not feel in danger, but was somewhat confused. "Follow the flower." With those words the flower appeared in front of her, it started moving down the corridor at an incredible speed, it was hard for Jessica to keep up with it. The corridor stopped suddenly, she was now in a garden. Before her stood a maze entrance. The female voice spoke again. "Make your way through the maze and all the questions which you want to know will be answered." Jessica stepped forward into the entrance, the green walls towered over her. She looked up, then to either side, there was a path to the left and a path to the right. Without any hesitation she took the path to the right. After walking around for what seemed hours she came to a dead end, a breathy sigh escaped her lips as she leaned up against the wall, which would not allow her to go any further, she fell backwards. The dead end was an illusion, she had made her way to the middle of the maze. She looked up to this large golden fountain. The water that poured from the top was purple, just like the lake. She slowly walked forward and looked into the purple water. Her image appeared in the water. "You have passed the test." Jessica continued to look in the water, her clothes disappeared that she was wearing and formed into her princess gown, four female figures appeared around her. She quickly looked up startled, there was no one around her. "Who, who are you?" Princess Cassandra asked, as she looked around frantically for the female figures she had just seen in the reflection of the water. "That I can not tell you, but in time you will know who we are, for we are much like you, warriors, princesses, but unlike you we haven't been awakened. So that is the task that we give you, for you are the only one that can help us." The voice faded off, and around the fountain four figures slowly appeared, three of the four figure faces and bodies were covered in a shadow. But there was one of the figures, which resembled Alissa. She wore a long turquoise gown. Princess Cassandra studied the gown with her eyes. "Yes I am Princess Alissa . . ." Princess Cassandra turned and looked to the figure across from her, she resembled the scout, which she had seen earlier that day. With the long wavy hair, the small almond eyes. "What is your name?" She asked. She continued to look at the woman who wore a floor length gown, it started with a light green at the top, the it slowly got darker so it was a deep forest green. The straps were bronze, as were her earrings. She wore a bronze crown upon her head. She smiled mischievously. "I am Princess Capella." "Can't you tell me your real name? Or anything that can help me?" Princess Cassandra looked to each of the female figures, which stood around her in turn. "No we can't, that is for you to find out, we have given you the task, now you must complete it." The female figure to Princess Cassandra's near right spoke softly. The figures then began to disappear. "No wait, you can't leave me wondering like this." Princess Cassandra looked up into the light purple sky above. Everything around her began to turn black, she could see the outlines of shadows which surrounded her. An icy wind picked up moving Princess Cassandra's hair. "You can't let this happen!" Princess Cassandra looked in the direction of the voice, she soon started to recognize some of her surroundings she was in the Tokyo Park. She looked around, everything around her was dark, no lights from the near by building's shone, not even the pale silver light of the moon could be see. The princess looked around, towards the sun, there was no light there. She then felt herself flying to the sun, passing by the planets, they too were dark, she landed on the sun, everything was dead. Nothing lived, death and a cold bleak area surrounded her. "What happened?" She asked herself as she turned around in circles. Before her face the faces of Kasumi, Kurai-ki and a mysterious clocked face passed by. Her eyes grew wide as a face of a dog like creature passed by, then finally a female face. "To awaken the five points of a star . . .. the sun shines it's brightest . . . . . a step forward . . . . . a step backward . . . . . day becomes night . . . . . a battle of the stars." Princess Cassandra stared at the visions in her mind, everything began to fade she couldn't even see her hands before her face. The dream ended . . . *^*^*^*^* The words of the stranger repeated over and over in her head. "To awaken the five points of a star . . . . the sun shines it's brightest . . . . . a step forward . . . . . a step backward . . . . . day becomes night . . . . . a battle of the stars." 'What could it mean?' She paused and looked out her window into the night sky. 'And who is Sailor Capella?' She asked as she turned away from the star filled sky. 'I can't take much more of this!' She turned and lay on her back, she glanced down at Eclipse, he lay there, and every now and then his legs would move because he was dreaming. "You might be able to talk, the oldest dog ever, the best teacher, but you're still a dog." Jessica smiled to herself as she pulled the blankets up around her chin. * * * * * Jessica walked down the crowded halls of her school. She squeezed through and made her way to her locker. There Alissa was, smiling as usually. She turned her head and her blonde hair land back perfectly in place. "Hi Jessica!" She said happily. "Why are you so cheerful? It isn't Monday!" Jessica teased, Alissa stuck out her tongue at the comment. She turned back to her locker and shut it, putting the combination lock into place she pushed it together and a little click was barely heard. "No, it's just that I found out that there is a school dance coming up this Friday!" She said as she swung her book bag over her shoulder. "We have to go!" Jessica opened her locker, and she turned to Alissa. "Really?" Then she paused. "Are we allowed to invite people who aren't going to this school?" She asked as she bit her lip and got a saddened look on her face. Alissa nodded her head vigorously up and down. "Sure can! And I was kind enough to pick up a slip for you in English class." Alissa pulled the slip out of hr pocket, it was a bit creased. "You have to return it before first class tomorrow though!" Jessica took the slip and quickly scanned it over, she shoved it into her pocket. "Thank-you Alissa! You're the best friend that someone can have!" She gave her blonde friend a big hug. The buzzer rang through the hall, all the students turned towards their class, Jessica and Alissa walked together towards their next class. Jessica still had a big smile on her face as they walked towards history class. * * * * * Kurai-ki walked into the Emperor's chamber. The Emperor turned from where he sat, he was leaning over a table and reading what appeared to be an extremely old novel. The binding was starting to break, the pages were creased and browned with age. The green demon did the customary bow before his superior. "I did the rounds at the hospital and was able to collect many more Heart Stones, I now have over two hundred." Kurai-ki explained. "Good." The Emperor ran his fingers across the pages of the novel, he didn't really stir much. Kurai-ki stood there waiting for more from the man hunched over the table. "So what are your plans today?" He finally asked. "Well I have my friends going around and taking victims as we speak, and I shall be going out later tonight, I have been just doing a random overall attack lately, so the Sailor Scouts will not expect anything. They can't trace my attacks to a certain pattern, thus making it harder for them to find out where I shall attack next!" Kurai-ki stood there smugly with his arms crossed and a proud look upon his face. "Very good Kurai-ki, I guess we will not be seeing a certain acquaintance of yours any time soon then." He paused and looked up at Kurai-ki a small smile was on his unseen lips. "And I was so looking forward to meeting your . . ." Kurai-ki quickly cut off the Emperor respectively as he possible good." "Excuse me, but I must be off, I have to decide where to attack next." Kurai-ki quickly bowed and exited the room. He walked down the dark halls, vanishing into the darkness that surrounded him. A shuffling could be heard behind Emperor Valico, the cloaked demon turned and looked into the darkness. "There is no point hiding, come out now and speak your business, and make it quick, I have much to read." From the shadows came the beast, it tilted it's head to the side. "It is a pity that we cannot call upon the demon that we all have been dying to meet." The beast sat beside Emperor Valico. "I really wanted to see how they would act around each other, Kurai-ki seems to even fear his name, have you noticed that he hasn't let us speak the name of such a demon which should be so close to his heart." The beast paused. "If he even has a heart." The beast said thoughtfully. "Do you know Emperor Valico?" The beast questioned. The Emperor was half listening to the beast which sat beside him, was had turned back to the large musty smelling book, he flipped on of the pages carefully and ran his finger through the lines. The beast studied the Emperor with wonder. "Now tell me what is so interesting about this book which you cannot tear your eyes away from for more then a minute?" The beast jumped up onto the table. The Emperor did not answer but looked down at the book then up to the Emperor's unseen face. He could only seen the electric blue eyes dart back and forth as he read line after line. "Well?" The beast asked again, it looked down at the unrecognizable words, it was written in a different language then the beast had ever seen, it narrowed it's blood red eyes and tried to decipher the pages. "It will hopefully tell me more about the carriers of the Heart Stones, it is a great legend, and I forgot that I had this. I found it shoved away, forgotten." He paused as he held his finger on a line for a few moments, then he moved on. "It should have something about it, it says here that the Heart Stones have been passed down from generation after generation a living beings ever since the beginning of time." He went on reading, the beast jumped off the table. "Well you have fun reading through that musty old book. I hope you find whatever it is that you are looking for." The beast walked off into the shadows and vanished into the dark murky water like substance in the fountain. * * * * * Jessica and Alissa walked through the schoolyard, they walked over to an empty picnic table. A girl with wavy golden brown hair that went down to her thigh looked up right at Jessica and Alissa. She looked up, she had just felt a strange almost familiar feeling. She lifted her head and tried to pick out what or who it had come from, she recognized the various faces of class mates, but as she looked at the different people, nothing, not another feeling like the one moments before. She knew that it had to do with her new secret identity, that she and her dog knew about. 'I don't understand this.' She thought as she turned back to her lunch. 'What was that feeling? It was so, so, so familiar. Like I have experienced it before.' She shrugged her shoulders and went back to her fruit salad. * * * * * Jessica walked down the hall, books in hand, she had thrown her book bag into her locker in a fit of rage, because not only did her locker not work, but somehow it had got caught on her stupid locker and ripped it. She held her books close to her chest as she walked down the hall in a huff. "Watch Out!" A voice called. Soon she found herself being soaked with water, she looked down at her school uniform which was covered in water, she looked to had managed to get her soaked, she was greeted with a worried face. The startled and half drenched red head backed away, the girl that stood before Jessica had wavy golden brown hair. He small almond eyes looked at the empty bucket of water, which she was carrying, and to Jessica's soaked school uniform. "I am so sorry, someone pushed me, and I tried to stop it but it didn't really work now did it?" She asked as she looked down again at Jessica and the empty bucket. Jessica then got a feeling that she had met the girl whom stood before her, she really didn't take much notice to it because of her drenched form. The girl with the empty water bucket had gotten the same feeling, she stood there looking at Jessica for a few moments. 'Could it be?' She asked herself, 'Is she Sailor Sun?' The girl asked herself as she looked at Jessica once again. In her mind she got a mental picture of the Sailor Scout from the other day and the girl before her. Somehow they were alike, but then she wasn't too sure. She quickly snapped back to reality, she forgot the resemblance between the two and waited for Jessica's response. "Don't worry about it, I'll just go to the washroom and clean up." Jessica said a bit annoyed, yet sorry towards the girl that stood before her. She shook off her wet papers and turned towards the washroom just down the hall. "Wait!" The girl called behind Jessica. The red head turned around. "Is there anything I can do?" The girl asked, her eyes still full of worry and apology. Jessica shook her head 'no' and continued down the hall. Oh, but you can tell Mr. Caley that I might be a bit late for his class." Jessica said as she turned back to the girl who stood in the empty hall holding an empty bucket. * * * * * Jessica and Alissa got off of the school bus. "Oh we have so much math homework!" Alissa complained as they walked down the street. Jessica lifted her head and saw sitting on a cement wall a couple of houses down was Kevin and Eclipse. Jessica began to run towards Kevin. He jumped off the wall and stood there waiting, he opened his arms and Jessica flew into them. He picked her up and spun her around. He gently kissed her then set her back down on the ground. Alissa came up and stood by Eclipse's side, just as they walked away Eclipse lifted his ears. "What is that noise?" He asked, the others turned, and they two could hear the fainting beeping noise. "It's my medallion! Kurai-ki is at it again!" Jessica stated as she swung off her broken shoulder book bag and set in on the ground. She pulled out her transformation medallion, and it was where the sound was coming from. "Alright lets follow the beeping, when it gets louder that means that we are closer, so lets go!" Eclipse began to run along the sidewalk, Jessica, Kevin and Alissa followed. * * * * * "Now that wasn't that hard was it?" Kurai-ki asked the elderly man as he lay him on the bench with his left hand, in his right was the poor mans Heart Stone. Kurai-ki turned towards the retirement home, he walked up and through the main doors, screams were heard. Kurai-ki's spine chilling laugh followed. * * * * * "Here!" Jessica said as she held out her transformation medallion, it had started to beep extremely fast and loud. "Let's transform! There is no way I'm going to let Kurai-ki attack the elderly!" Jessica held up her transformation brooch, Kevin and Alissa all followed lead. "SOLARIS STAR . . . . . POWER!" Jessica then closed her eyes. The Solaris Medallion disappeared into many little orange and gold sparkles; this caused her body to shimmer the colors of the sparkles as they fell onto her body. Then her silver tiara appeared with the red jewel in the center. The jewel then emitted a blinding flash of orange light that surrounded Jessica giving her the feeling of the bright morning sun on her body. Then a swirl of orange and gold sparkles warped around her body moving upward as it spun around her body. The body suit of her uniform then appeared. And the bows came out of the heart in the center of her chest. Sparkling golden rings then went around her feet forming boots. Then more sparkling rings went around her arms forming her gloves. Soon afterward the golden sparkles went around her waist forming her skirt. At that point there was a large burst of golden sparkles that flew up into the air, when the sparkles fell to the ground Sailor Sun was then revealed fully transformed. She did her transformation pose. She stood there with one hand across her forehead and the other across her stomach with her legs together. Her long red hair then blew to the side. DAYSTAR COSMIC . . . . . POWER! The mist wrapped around counter clockwise around his body covering him from the eye. When the mist faded away Kevin was only a shadow. Then was an explosion above his head and small glittering yellow and maroon sparkles fell over his shoulders and his long cape appeared around his shoulders. Then with a bright flash of golden light his armor appeared. Then he held his right arm to the sky and opened his eyes. Once his eyes were open a large powerful silver sword appeared in his hand, he then slid the saber into it's proper spot on his belt. "POLLUX STAR . . . . . POWER!" Alissa shouted out the phrase as she held her transformation item above her head. Alissa then closed her eyes then her transformation wand disappeared. Her hair was then lifted off of her shoulders. I strong gust picked up and swirled around her. Then her silver tiara appeared with the white jewel in the center. The jewel them emitted a blinding flash of gray light that surrounded Alissa giving her the feel of a warm spring breeze blowing through her hair and across her face. Then the swirling air divided into rings and two rings went around her body moving upward as it spun around her body. The body suit of her uniform then appeared. And the bow came out of the heart in the center of her chest. Gray rings of air went around her feet forming boots. Then more gray rings went around her arms forming her gloves. Soon afterward the gray air went around her waist forming her skirt. At that point the wind picked up greatly, her hair was blowing wildly. From above a tornado came down and circled around Alissa blocking her from view. When the tornado died down and her hair slowly dropped back resting on her shoulders. Sailor Pollux was reveled fully transformed. She did her transformation pose. Her pose was her standing with both of her hands on her cheeks, looking very innocent and harmless. Her head was tilted a little bit to the side. Her legs were apart, one was a little ahead then the other. Sailor Sun led her fellow warriors into the retirement home, they ran through the large doors, which had been smashed from Kurai-ki's previous visit. "Which way?" Eclipse asked as he looked to the left, then to the right. "It shouldn't be that hard to tell." Sailor Sun pointed to the right, looking down the hall, various elderly people were laying on the floor without a Heart Stone. "This way!" Sailor Sun indicated with her head, they all ran down the hall, they came to a stop at Kurai-ki's voice. "Thank-you for your cooperation, you have been a really big help! Your contribution of your Heart Stone is going towards a much needed cause." Kurai-ki let go of the neck of the woman's nightgown and let her fall back to her bed. Sailor Sun walked in through the door. "I won't let you hurt the elderly anymore! They are the people in which we look up to for advice, the people which best remembers the past before we were born." Kurai-ki turned around startled. "Oh great, how about your three donate your Heart Stones for Kurai-ki's evil plan?"' The green demon asked as he turned away from the bed. "How about no!" Sailor Pollux said as she stepped closer. "Well I see that you three are going to want to get rowdy so why don't we take this outside?" He asked as he looked at each of the scouts in turn. Sailor Sun nodded her head in agreement. "Alright then." Kurai-ki turned from the three warriors before him, he looked at the window, and he jumped and smashed through it. The Daystar Knight jumped and covered the elderly woman's body with his cape from the flying glass. The three jumped out of the window after the green demon. They looked around the empty and quite yard, he wasn't anywhere. Sailor Pollux looked up above her head and there he was about to throw those razor edged leaves. "Watch out!" She yelled as the other two looked up they too saw Kurai-ki and quickly got out of the way. Landing behind a row of bushes, they caught their breath. Suddenly they heard a scream that sounded like Kurai-ki's. They peeked their heads up over the bushes to see Kurai-ki fall to the ground. A voice spoke. "That will teach you Kurai-ki!" Sailor Sun, Sailor Pollux, Eclipse and the Daystar Knight all looked up to see Sailor Capella standing there with her hair and uniform blowing in the wind. Up beside the scout walked a Doberman pincher, not much smaller then Eclipse. The Sailor Scout jumped first, she did a flip and landed on her feet perfectly. She made the jump from three stories above was nothing more then a step. The dog then jumped, and landed beside Sailor Capella. At this point Kurai-ki was slowly trying to get up back to his feet, he wiped a line of black blood from his cheek where Sailor Capella had hit him, and he turned towards the girl and her dog. The three warriors jumped out of the bush and stood up beside Sailor Capella, Eclipse followed slowly. Kurai-ki flung a wave of the razor sharp leaves at the Sailor Scouts. They weren't expecting the attack so without much time to dodge it they found themselves with some cuts here and there on their arms, legs, and uniform. Sailor Capella even got one along her face. She reached up and grabbed the leaf, she threw it to the ground and crumpled it up with her boot. "Here is where the line is drawn." Sailor Capella stepped up to the green demon. She turned back to her fellow warriors and nodded. She did a back flip over Kurai-ki, while in the process of the flip Sailor Sun, Sailor Pollux, and the Daystar Knight all fired their attacks. Kurai-ki was hit with blasts of fire, wind and laser beams. He fell to his knees yet again. Sailor Capella then hit him with a blast of green energy. The demon screamed in pain, the scream suddenly stopped. The four warriors stepped up to the spot in which Kurai-ki had just been. "You stupid Sailor Scouts, your little attacks will never destroy me! For I am much stronger then you. So stop fighting for you little cause to save the world, because news flash! You can't do anything about it! Evil will prevail!" With those words Kurai-ki disappeared from where he stood on the top of the retirement home. Sailor Sun and Eclipse turned to look at Sailor Capella and the dog at her side. "Please tell us your name." Sailor Sun begged. Sailor Capella turned to look at her guardian dog at her side, the female dog shook her head 'no'. "I . . . I can't yet, you will find out soon. I still have a lot to figure out." Sailor Capella turned away with the dog, they ran off and disappeared over the hill. Jessica turned to Eclipse and shrugged her shoulders. "Don't worry about her right now, I guess her guardian is making her not tell us because like she said she still has much to learn."
