'99 Tribute to Ayrton Senna da Silva

McLaren honors Senna ( taken from McLaren Files )

Jo Ramirez had reserved the main room at La Trattoria that night in the name of Philip Morris.
When Ayrton and Adriane arrived, arm in arm, they had not expected to be celebrating his six years at Marlboro-McLaren.
These were moving moments, particularly for Ayrton, Jo and Ron. The arguments and bitterness were forgotten, together with the separation.
Only the happy memories remained, recorded in the picture that Jo handed to Ayrton, tears in his eyes. Two good friends were separating.
A green pennant that the dream transformed into the Brazilian flag. Waved with passion. Applauded with nostalgia for a homeland, venerating a national idol
.
This was his last 'bandeira Brasileira.' His last victory. His last tears of joy in a Formula 1 event.
Had we known all this when Ayrton produced that green flag in Adelaide, it would have been soaked with tears. The moment that he pulled it from his pocket, it flagged his final outstanding victory.
