Holly & Tshinta
In February, Holly & Tshinta were enjoying life
on the farm in Clybucca but then they were transported half way
across the country to their new life in outback Katherine. The
first leg of the 3000-odd kilometre trip was a 500km car ride
to Sydney. At least they had stopped meowing once we passed the
Port Macquarie turnoff. Then it was a two night stay in boarding
kennels while I organised transport for the car and bought new
deluxe travelling cages for them.
I was apprehensive about the next leg of the journey
which was the long plane ride from Sydney to Darwin but when I
checked on them in the freight section of Darwin airport atfter
midnight they were O.K. Even Kayla was looking subdued in her
Dog-Tainer travelling cage.
More boarding kennels for them until they caught
a plane to Katherine the next day while I endured a 4 hour bus
trip. For the next week I was in a motel while they were in more
boarding kennels but enough was enough and I decided to move into
our house. Thus we camped in the house until the car and finally
the furniture turned up nearly two weeks later. Then it was cat
heaven with all of the boxes which needed unpacking. Holly spent
a lot of time hiding in a cupboard but Tshinta loved all of the
sleeping & playing places afforded by lots of half-unpacked
boxes.
