Lonesome Night
By:  Carrie Ford

Upon this lonesome night I cry,
Longing for life to say goodbye
Oh that I might escape this earth,
To be free from guilt, shame, remorse.

The sky so dark, the stars so bright,
Yet neither determine the darkness of night.
My soul alone cries out to thee,
Death, relieve me of this mortality.

Oh lonesome night, hear my cry,
Away from this hell, please let me fly.
If any mercy is to be found,
To this life, let me not be bound.

All hope is gone, as is the light,
My life is doomed to eternal night.
Never again shall I see,
The joy of life, or the light in me.

On this lonesome night I find,
That life is nothing more than time.
A time to mourn, a time to cry,
A time to kiss this life goodbye.
