Introduction

This particular section of the site is pretty bland at the moment. It really needs a re-think and a re-draft, but I've grafted in some text to point the right direction, for now.

His resume is here, though it's not current, nor is it (as the intro page suggests) exploded so that you can hyper-jump around and get more detail. Not yet, at least. I'm still working on the JavaScript to do that.

The version above is almost always a bit older than absolute newest versions, which are available as an Acrobat PDF file or as plain old PostScript.

Work: GCOM, Inc.

Geoff does have a job, one he's been at for over three years now. He's working for GCOM, Inc. as a technical writer, part of which requires him to work on their WWW presence. Unfortunately, he doesn't get to do that as much as he might like.

School: UIUC

Geoff was a student in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at UIUC. He officially graduated in August of 1998 with an MS degree.

His education was centered around library automation and information retrieval, with a grounding in library processes.

Miscellanous Items of Interest

I've put together a small collection of projects that I've worked on. I think these were intended mostly to be good representations of what kind of work I do, but I'm not really sure what the criteria for inclusion is. I think mostly it's an abiding interest in the problems the projects addressed.

Here's a page of links set up a long time ago that I just found floating around my directory tree. I think it was supposed to be pointers to stuff on computers and writing, which is fairly broad, but maybe these will work as trailheads still. No effort has been made to keep it up to date. Sorry.

This is a brief PowerPoint presentation I did on cryptography, specifically PGP and SSH. It's overview-level, very introductory. Here's the viewer and the compressed presentation from Pack-and-Go, too.
