        Scars by BlackStones Poetry Guild

        Sometimes, I get scared
But, it's not from anything in the present
It comes from a life gone past
Where anything good is bound to leave

        So, still you see
When something good comes into my life
I seem to enjoy it in stages, as a child
Approaches a flame that has left scars

        As each stair is climbed
And the bad doesn't happen, another can be met
        Each holds its own terror
All from past experiences of pain

As each scar is healed, by love
Another arises, but a healed scar
No longer has any power to hurt, or
        Frighten the bruised child within

Our lives are a continuum of scars
        Which build and strengthen us
Giving character to where there was none
        Giving understanding for another.

Soul Mate by BlackStones Poetry Guild

When two hearts meet one another
And they find they sing the same song
A song of searching - a song of longing
A song that's played for so long

When they find their desires are echoed as one
That their loves are the same as each other
Sharing a path through life not knowing
They were preparing one for the other

        Everything falls right into place
        Words come forth without pain
A hard experience, at first, to believe
Knowing one's thoughts, no need to explain

So, believe lonely hearts and the one will appear
When the time is right and both are ready
The song is playing in both your hearts
Walk your path, strong and steady.

        Alone by BlackStones Poetry Guild

My loneliness eats at my flesh
As a cancer destroys the body which feeds it
        I rise early
        To feel the pain

In the still of the morning
I think back to simpler times
Where all was black or white
And gray was a color I wore

I pull my world in around me
        Trying to keep warm
        The coldness embraces my flesh
        As I scream

        The night lasts forever
        Blackness so thick
        As my hungry heart cries
        For the love of another

        One who understands my pain
        Who explains my innermost fears
        Another who will love me
        For whom I've become

But, for now, I must sit
        For now, I must cry
I must observe my past world
        Unravel in my eyes

        I must walk alone
On the path of death I have chosen
        Knowing death only gives birth
        To new life.

        Amen by BlackStones Poetry Guild

        To dream the dream
        To fly to the sky
        To wave at the eagles
        As they pass by

        To reach for the mountains
        To shoot for a star
        To watch the people
        So near, yet so far

        The limits are set
In the eyes of a man
        To push past those limits
        Is truly Gods plan

        To settle for less
Is to watch life pass away
        Yet time is so short
        And so is our stay

We must strive for the best
        We know we can be
For the eyes to be opened
        For the Spirit to see

        The question must be answered
        We must push for more
To wash doubt from the mind
        That we've opened each door

So when the day comes, and
        It's time to transcend
        We can say without fear
        Amen and amen.
