Tricks I have invented

These are all tricks that I have personally created in my spare time. Some of them are classic effects, but some of them are rather original. I am not including them here to be learned by you, I am putting the effects out for input(in case you think it could be better), and also to prove to you that it is not impossible as I first thought it to be. It gets better with practice.

When I first tried to invent a trick, it took me hours and the outcome was a rather stupid routine that included nothing new. However, eventually more original tricks and routines sprung from this practice, and to date I have about 20 tricks.

That being said, here are my tricks. They are mostly coin tricks.

Close-up Magic

  1. Coin Torture: A magician drives a coin up through his body, starting at the feet, up through the organs, until it is produced at his lips.
  2. Flying Saucer: A magician borrows a coin and vanishes it. He announces it is not truly gone, and proves it by taking off his shoe and showing the coin inside. The coin then vanishes again and travels to the front/breast pocket! Finally, it is placed into an envelope, a match is lit, and you can see the coins shadow inside. The envelope is ignited and put into an ashtray, and whe nthe flame expires the coin is gone. Suddenly the magician chokes and finds the coin in his mouth.
  3. Mathematic Coins: The magician shows both hands empty, and holds out his left hand, openly wiggling the fingers. He closes his hand, and when it is opened, a coin has appeared. He passes it hand to hand, and then closes his hand around it. When a pass is made around it, a clink is heard, and two coins are now in the hand! The hand then drops to the side, idly jingling while the left hand is shown empty front and back. Suddenly he holds his hand up, and three new coins have appeared. The coins are placed on the table, the sleeves rolled up and the hands proven empty. The magician counts out all of the coins, one by one, very visibly, but one he dumps them on the table another coin exists. The magician bows and pockets them.
  4. Voodoo Coin: A single half dollar is shown. The wonder worker proves it is very special by closing it in his hand and taking out a knife. He slashes at the air with the knife, and blood begins to drip from the coin hand. When it is opened, the coin has a deep gash in it. The coin is then tossed to the spectator, who tries to avoid the blood soaked thing.
  5. The 50 cent Piece: A magician shows both hands empty, and then reaches behind a spectators leg and pulls out a half dollar. He says it is a magical piece, and suddenly throws it into the air where it vanishes. The magician then reaches into his mouth and pulls out the coin. After showing it, he puts it back in the mouth and then pulls it out the back of his head. He then makes the coin get stuck in his stomach while passing it through his entrails. Not knowing what to do, the magician suddenly crys out in pain, and squeezes the coin out of his eye.
  6. Phases: A magician shows a half dollar. After it has been inspected, the magician says it is like the moon, but like the moon it sometimes vanishes. He shows both hands empty, and behold, the coin is gone. However, he opens his hands and there is the coin, except part of it is blackend off like a phase of the moon. A moment later, nearly all of the coin is blackened, except for a tiny bit of silver. It then vanishes again. When the hand is opened a final time, the coin is gold, like the sun.
  7. Curse of the Undead: The magician shows a coin but strangely, he shades it with his hand.He announces that the coin is a vampire, and sunlight will kill it. For protection, you put the coin in your pocket and remove a red felt pen. A spot of red is made on the hand and is called blood. The hand is then closed, and he announces that the vampire will brave the sunlight to get the fluid of life. When the hand is opened, the "vampire" is nested right next to the "blood". Finally, you expose the vampire to the sun, and put it in your hand. When it is opened, all that is left is a small pile of ash.
  8. The Player Coin: A magician shows an ordinary coin. After it is displayed, the magician announces that the coin is a player, a ladies man. When this is stated, he shows how the coin will even sometimes change nationalites to get chicks, because it has suddenly changed to a copper coin. The coin then changes back to silver. Sometimes the coin will run off to escape bad dates, and this is proven because the coin vanishes. But, the coin practices safe sex, because the magician takes out a condom and when it is opened, the coin is nestled inside.
  9. Clown: A single coin is shown. It is put into the magicians hand. After speaking a few words about a boys dream to become a clown, the hand is opened. The coin has become a red sponge ball!
  10. Nouns: A film canister is shown. It is opened, and inside the film strip is found to be completely blank. It is rewound, and put back into the canister. After holding it in his hands tightly, it is reopened and the strip is covered with pictures.
  11. Magic Matinee: The performer shows a movie ticket. the ticket is folded up and taken into the spectators hand. When the ticket is opened, it is found to be for a different movie!

Stage Magic

  1. Prince and Pauper: A poor man walks out onto stage, no money in his pockets, carrying a metal bucket. He shows both hands empty, and as if wishing for the impossible, he reaches into the air and to his amazement, a coin appears. The grateful pauper kisses it and throws it into his bucket. He continues plucking coins from nowhere, getting swankier and swankier until suddenly, in an attemt to hide the coins he dumps them into his hat where they vanish. He is a pauper once more.
  2. Fire Separation: The performer takes a half dollar and tosses it into an ash tray. He then squirts in some lighter fluid and ignites it, so flames erupt from his table. When the fluid burns away, he cools it with an air cannon and palces it in his hand. After working the coin with his hand, it is opened to show two coins.
  3. Viva Las Vegas: A man walks onto the stage and shows his hands empty. He throws a deck of cards on the table, and draws out a poker hand. He then rolls up his sleeves and looks at his cards. Suddenly, a bunch of bills appear behind the cards and are fanned. The performer then tears a bill into four pieces, but restores it instantly. Suddenly all the money vanishes. A single half dollar is found and placed in a bucket made for slot machine coins. He then reaches into the air and plucks out another coin. He continues doing this for a while, but then he shows his hand empty each time before catching a coin. Next, the cards are pulled out in a blackjack hand. It's a winner, and he claps his hands together and a shower of bills fall from them. The magician places all his money into the bucket, and walks off.
