PowerPal is recommended for
use with standalone PCs, network workstations, and file servers. PowerPal
is not recommended for use with inverters, or any other non-computer
equipment that may not function properly with a standby UPS and/or stepwave
(squarewave) power source. Not for use with life-support equipment.
280, 425, 660, 1000, and 1400
VA models - plus 1000 and 1400 VA runtime extendible "X" models and
1400 VA rack-mount "R" model, and optional regular and rack-mount battery
banks. Every PowerPal model has built-in voltage correction for brownout
protection - "boosts" low voltages and "bucks" high voltages, extends battery
life, and reduces stress on your electronic equipment. Don't be confused
by other UPS companies' product lines: APC's Back-UPS models and Tripp
Lite's various BC models do NOT provide voltage correction. For APC and
Tripp Lite, you have to at least buy the Back-UPS Pro or the OmniSmart
in order to get this valuable feature. When comparing Fenton to APC or
Tripp Lite, make sure you compare apples to apples! |

-
Every PowerPal model has dual RJ11/RJ45
surge protection ports to protect against surges coming through telephone/modem
or network
-
Every PowerPal has an RS232 interface
port
-
Every PowerPal is bundled with
smart software for UPS monitoring and automatic safe shutdown of your computer
system. For use with Windows NT, 2000, 98, 95, Novell Netware, Linux, and
BSD! Optional software for other operating systems also available.
-
Fenton's intelligent overload and
short circuit protection feature works in both AC and battery operation
modes - PowerPal warns you of small overloads and shuts down during short
circuit or high overload conditions to protect you and your equipment and
to help you avoid nuisance fuse blows.
-
Battery test function and battery
replacement indicator.
-
Site wiring fault indicator alerts
you to potentially hazardous electrical wiring.
-
User replaceable, hot-swappable
batteries for convenient and economical battery replacement (280/425/660
only)
-
Smart electronic on/off switch
lets you turn on UPS with or without AC utility power available -
PowerPal's battery power is available whenever you need it. And the delayed
off feature helps prevent accidental turning off of the UPS
-
UL and cUL listed for safety and
performance
-
Additional features of models L1000/1400:
-
Four additional visual indicators:
boosting voltage, bucking voltage, load level percentage of maximum load,
battery charge level as a percentage of full charge Six output receptacles.
-
Circuit breaker for convenient
resetting instead of replacing fuse when overload/short circuit.
-
Built-in cooling fan in rear of
UPS for optimal battery performance and runtime
RUNTIME CHART
All runtimes (given in minutes)
are approximate only and will vary depending on actual power draw of connected
equipment, age of UPS battery, and other variables. For further help estimating
runtimes please call Fenton Technologies.
