(JCH -- 1997)
i lost my head a long time ago
so i would not think anymore
chopped my fingers off
so they would not write another poem
took my heart right out of my chest
replaced it with a machine
so it would not break again
and poked my eyes out
so they would never see beauty so true
again

but i remember everything
the rain
and the sun
and the sound of the train
but when the telephone rang
early yesterday morning
and the voice coming from the radio
sounded like you calling my name...

Well, that was a long time ago.
