(JCH -- 7/96)
on a late night dirt road beside the railroad tracks
shy boy and pretty brunette in parked car
hands fumbling awkwardly
as he toys with her bra strap
until it finally comes undone
she moves onto his lap
kissing him
as she takes her shirt off;
excited boy, nervous
mad at himself for feeling that way
she must sense this, he thinks
he wonders if he should be harder
thoughts racing a mile a minute
forcing his attention away from the moment
which should be magical;
her heart races
remembering how he looked at her
those weeks before approaching her
in the student center,
shyly stealing glances
as they passed each other on campus
and the way that made her feel--
beautiful, special and desirable
