(JCH -- 12/23/97)
standing stone
standing alone

oh, to see you again

her voice
her eyes
soothing me
watching me
as i first arrive

i hurt for you

television screen girl
motion picture woman
dances in my mind
this insane ritual
lithe, nubile
full of influence
promise
say the right words
but i know
i know why the bird dances
in the rain
as i walk home from
the edge
of my mind,
wandering so far from my nest
but always right there
always on the same track
look into my eyes
look into my eyes
look into my eyes

this is not about you
