Hello sweeties. Welcome to Drag Hag, the on-line dragazine for drag queens and the grrls (okay, and boyz too) who love them. Thank you for dropping in. Before you peruse my site, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Vi Vacious, and I do live up to my name. With my sparkling wit and bubbly personality, I am like a glass of Dom Perignon. And like fine champagne, I improve with age. I was born on February 14, which is great because that means I always get presents on Valentine's Day (and I always have a reason to look forward to it, even during my "dateless" periods)! You girls know what that's like, am I right? In fact, you could even say that I was born to be a drag hag as I was born in Queens, NY!
I have a Master's Degree in historical costume, fashion and decorative arts studies. Right now I have a very boring job while I decide if I want to work with fashion, which is my ultimate dream, or, failing to find a job in that, as a web-page designer, which I have been getting involved with alot lately. I am a member of the NYC chapter of Webgrrls. And in my spare time I am writing the Great American Novel. But enough about me, let's talk about you darling.
Back to me now. I can't stand having the attention on someone else for an extended period of time! My favorite film is My Fair Lady , with Funny Face coming in a close second. Audrey Hepburn was my idol, and I had the pleasure of catching a glimpse of her one day in the Georges Seurat exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1991. She was truly a lady of much class and beauty.
I love music. I am the proud owner of what I consider to be the most comprehensive collection of late-Seventies-to-early-Eighties punk and New Wave 45 rpm singles (many colored vinyls and picture disks), with a smaller selection of 12" extended dance remixes (remember those?) I like a lot of punk and alternative music by women artists and groups, such as The Slits, Vice Squad, Fuzzbox, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Hole, the list is endless. I also love techno, rave, house, and alternative music, but occasionally I still find myself taking out older stuff and putting it on my turntable.
Anyway, I started this page because I wanted to devote a site to the glamour and style of drag queens. It is one of the first, if not the first drag site created by a woman. Drag Hag is for drag queens, transgendered people, grrls, boyz, anyone who enjoys drag, fashion, and makeup. Thank you for stopping by. As a famed Canadian psychic whose name escapes me at the moment says: "I love you, I kiss you my sweeties."
