Helpful tips on Digital photography.

Most digital camera's have setting, which can be changed.   Such as the resolution, and picture format, lets start with the resolution.
The camera that I use is the Olympus 2020 zoom which has three resolution settings, Standard, High and Super high.   The standard quality is the lowest setting and it's one that I don't like to use because of the poor results.   But you will get alot of pictures on your card.
Next is Standard which I recommend, you will get fewer picture per card but the results are good.   And finally is Super High, by far the best.
but it really cuts down on the amount of picture on a card.   The results can be very outstanding.
Next I will tell you about Format,   most camera's have two types of formats.   The first is JPEG which is the easiest to read on any computer.
But it has it's down fall in quality.   (When JPEG is used with the resolution you will get considerably more picture to a disk.)   If you want to print pictures in this format becarefull when editing them and I would use a Matt finish photo paper to print them on. (It will hide most mistakes).
The second format is TIFF uncompressed, which is by far the best to use.   The downside is less picture on a disk.   But the they can be printed glossy photo paper.

The next problem is taking pictures of shiny object.   But that is easily over come by focusing on another object the same distance away, then
locking the focus, then take the picture of the object that yo unwanted to.  (note I have posted pictures here that will help you understand more
about using digital cameras)

Another downside to the Digital's are the they don't that reproduce certain colors very well.   So some editing may be need to correct it.

Some camera's are equipped with a digital zoom lens, although they are great for getting closer pictures.   Becarefull as to how far away the
object or person is, I would say anything over 16 feet away is about the top.   Some you have the option of buying a telephoto lens which will
help with those longer shots, but not much.

If you choose the convert color to black and white, it would be better to take the picture in black and white. You will get better results.
