The Canon String Quartet Members



Rebecca Small has played cello with the quartet for two and a half years and also plays trombone. She currently studies cello with cellist Sonja Adams. Rebecca also plays in the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, Fredericton Chamber Players, Fredericton High School Jazz Band and St. Thomas University Jazz. Rebecca is presently completing her final year at Fredericton High school and has been accepted into Acadia University to study music in the fall of 2003.


Ali Johnson, founder of the quartet, has been the first violinist for five years. She has played the violin for thirteen years and studied with Sylbie Roy and David Adams. Ali has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Biology-Chemistry at the university of New Brunswick and has plans to return in the fall in the faculty of Education. Ali currently plays first violin in the Fredericton Chamber Players, and is a past member of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra.


Sarah Park has played second violin in the quartet for three years and has studied with violinist David Adams. She has recently finished her first year at Mount Allison University in the Bachelor of Science program with a minor in music and has plans to attend Medical School. Sarah is also a pianist, and is a past member of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra.


Hannah Park plays viola and has been with the quartet for three years. Hannah is entering her final year at Fredericton High School and studies viola with Chris Buckley. Hannah also play piano and is a member of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra.
