The "Emerald" Aloe Vera plant was discovered in the late 1940's by a young scientist on a personal mission to find cure for sunburn. In researching aloe he learned there were more than 180 species, 2,200 varieties of aloe. However, no one had been able to successfully incoporate the aloe gel into a lotion or ointment and so it never garnered wide spread use or acceptance in the medical community, until now.

At this point you may be wondering if any lotion or ointment that contains "aloe" will work to relieve pain from all kinds of burns. The answer is a definate, NO! Today there are more than 350 species, 3,500 varieties of aloe. You never know what kind of Aloe is in the product.
