Bob Schick continued where Johnson left off. Using many of Johnson's
hybrids, Bob crossed these with other species and F1 hybrids to create new hybrids
in an outstanding range of colorful flowers, some up to seven inches across. Bob spent
more than twenty years of his life devoted to hybridization of his echinopsis, which
are available for purchase through the Huntington Botanical Gardens. In fact, most of
his hybrid echinopsis flowers can be seen in photographs on the HBG web-site, where he
also tells his own story.
