This secretariat is the pillar of strength of the society representing the embodiment of unity in discussing and understanding the Islamic tenets and other matters pertaining to the Muslims. It comprises of a head with two i/cs, in-charge of the brothers and sisters' usrahs (discussion groups).

The society's main training programme is the LTC (Leadership Training Camp) held annually for both its Exco members and the general Muslim undergraduate population. Interspersed with this are a series of lectures, usrahs (discussion groups) and ta'alim (reminder) sessions aimed at developing the Muslim undergraduates with a conscious awareness of their relationship with Allah, their roles and responsibilities in the pursuance of knowledge as well as their roles as future leaders of the community.

It is also responsible for the Islamic Awareness Programme (IAP) aimed at disseminating this information through means like exhibitions, mobile library, book displays, information booths, lectures, discussion or dialogue sessions as well as video presentations.

Another role that the secretariat plays is that of maintaining the society's notice boards in the various faculties by putting up notices of the society's activities as well as putting up articles or writings on Islam for the student body to read.

Relationship with the NUS Malay Language Society

The society works closely with the NUS Malay Language Society (PBMUKS) in the planning and execution of activities. This is to realize a symbiotic relationship by sharing of resources and information.

Also, central in the working relationship is our common goal of developing the Muslim undergraduate in the pursuit of knowledge in campus.

Since the society's inception as an independent organization with its own constitution and objectives, much has been done in trying to achieve our aspirations. The process of training and development has become the life blood and backbone of NUSMS. We will continue in this unending path, one that is full of obstacles and pain, to strive in Allah's cause.
