In her mortal years some 400 years ago, Ryla was the well-mannered daughter of a French duke. She grew up with a strong appreciation for the arts and literature and was one of the most beautiful women in the land. As she grew older and more beautiful, she sought to use her beauty to her advantage and began to greedily syphon anything she could from her wealthy suitors. Eventually though, she shortchanged the wrong suitor. This particular suitor, a vindictive member of the Toreador clan, decided that she would be his forever and committed her to the Embrace. Her beauty forever preserved in immortality, she passed the years at her sire's side until his unfortunate death at the hands of a slayer some 50 years later. After such a tragic occurrence, she took to the wilderness, eventually running across the Tremere warlock, Darien Maximillion Vizar, who was conducting experiments in the woods. Not wanting to have his secrets exposed, the warlock took her form and trapped it in a chrome orb that he carries with him and Ryla has grown to love her captor to great ends.
