Complete Sound System (75 Mitsubishi, Galant-Sedan)

Overall Sound System
This 25 year old Mitsubishi Galant, once containing an AM Chyrsler radio and 0.25watt center dash speaker, has now been upgraded four times. This project was a good example that a subwoofer setup could be integrated into a sedan without costing you a fortune.
The system having a digital FM tuner and two cheap amplifiers,
now runs four speakers and two subwoofers, putting out an impressive sound. The two amplifiers are run independently off the head units front and rear outputs. One going to a four channel amplifier for the main full range speakers, the other going to a smaller two channel amplifer to power the subs.
The main problems associated with the installation of subwoofers in sedans is the lack of space two work with and the task of getting the sound into the cabin. This beeing the main problem.
Although bass is undirectional and not a factor in stereophonic sound, getting the bass to transmit through the rear seat and parcel shelf can be an expensive exercise. Small enclosures located in the boot require a lot of power because of the resistance involved. Especially when dealing with acoustic suspension types.
