Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler were the founders of the Mercedes-Benz;they are generally acknowledged to have created the first automobiles. When they started building cars they work separately. The first Benz Victoria, built in 1893. It's top speed was 21 mph.In 1899 Emil Jellinek was the leading promotor of the new Daimler motor cars. He ordered 550,000 gold marks worth of cars and suggested the car be named for his daughter Mercedes. He was a genius as a body styist;and everywhere the Jaguars went people notice them. Jaguars are know for there powerful engines, there names has appeared on everything from luxury sedans to sharp looking sports cars. The first car to use the jaguar name was the S.S. Jaguar 100 in 1936. Lyons choose the name Jaguar because it represented speed, power, and courage. During world war II, Jaguar built military aircraft to survive. They built bombers andthe famous Spitfire fighter plane, after the war they officially became Jaguar Cars Limited.

BMW stands for "Bavarian Motor works" . BMW is a German company,the world head quarters is located in Munick, Germany. The company was founded to build aircraft engines. The company expanded rapily to meet the needs of the german air during world War I.When the war ended BMW had to develop a new product lines to survive.After the war they started building motorcycles engines,which was one of there most successful efforts. The engine they designed in 1921 sold well to motorcycle maufacturs all over Europe. It was a 2 cylinder engine and had 6.5 hp;they called it the "Bayen KleinMotor" (Bavarian small Engine) M1B15. After that BMW decided they should build the whole motorcycle and not just the engine. The BMW R32 was the first motorcycle they built, it was produced in the fall of 1923. The R32 is nowregared as one of the most ingenios design developments in the history of motorcycles. The R32 and other models that followed sold very well and saved the company. The BMW was making the fastest motorcycles in the world, by 1929. BMW become famous for their speed, and engineering quality. All BMW motorcycles have been produced in Berlin since the 1960s. The M1B15 engine, was improved and is still being made today. IN the late 1920s BMW producedDixie cars they were the smallest produced in the 20s.The Great Depression hit in October 1929, and BMW had advantages because they were producing small cars. A lot of its' motorcycle dealers added cars to thier business; you could have even bought a new BMW at the Mercedes dealership. IN 1933 BMW was the fifth largest german auto maker. The1933 model 303 was the first BMW to display the now traditional "kidney"radiator grill. Model 303 became the 326. IN 1936 rhe 328 set 3 new standards for enineering. it had a new suspension system,hydraulic shocks, and hydraulic brakes.IN 1992 BMW sold more cars then it's chief rival Mercedes-Benz.That was the first time in history they sold more than Mercedes.
