I live in the USA in the state of Montana and I began to read eastern philosophy over a year ago. Buddhism has helped me accept things in my life that I really wanted to change. Hard things, small things, I have deep thanks that I was able to understand what I do. I am A nurse and I find that service to people uplifts my soul. Through helping people I have come to know that compassion is a virtue not always easy to find in others. I take refuge in the dhamma, and I hope others will too. I would never force anything down anyones throat, but I seek to share my thoughts with others. I hope people will feel welcome to share thier ideas with me. There are not very many other buddhists in my area that I am aware of so I reach out from time to time. I have created my own website with a post board and a chat room in hope of bringing people closer to me. I am not the most well read buddhist but I have read about 10 books which included hinduism toaism and mostly buddhism. I plan to keep on reading forever and I find that certain books also uplift my soul. My internet name has always been Fate since I got on a computer three years ago, but, it fits me more every day. All is as it should be, and everything shall change through impermanence. I have always felt that I should do something spiritual with my life and now I know that I am on that path and always have been. I wish to be free of my own taints but, I also hope to bring others out of the dualistic world that tends to make people think that there is nothing in this world that one can believe to be the truth. May you all achieve enlightenment in this life.... I wish you well...

" Do not believe in anything(simply) because you have heard it.

Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.

Do not believe in anything because it is spoken and rumoured by many.

Do not believe in anything(simply) because it is found written in your religious books.

Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.

But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and

is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all then accept it and live up to it."

Buddha (Anguttara Nikaya Vol I, 188-193 R.T.S. ED)
