About " Strategikon " Wargames Club in Athens , Hellas !
|
The year was 1997 . Some crazy people with the same interests formed a club named "STRATEGIKON" . This was a non profit club , that was based on love for DBA , DBM and history . Our purpose was to communicate with all the others with the same hobby .
Now the year is 2000.We have completed two championships ( " GLADIUS 1997 - 1998 " , " DIGLADIATIONES 1998 - 1999 " ) . The running championship ( " THE END OF THE ERA 1999 - 2000 " is proceeding according to plan ( and very successfully ) . We have completed a cup ( " SWORD AND AXE 1998 " ) and we have managed to make our hobby known to the youngest . Our champion is Alexios Konstantinidis ( he won both championships ) . There is a campaign now running ( 1203 AD ) and some of us are studying the Napoleonic Period and the Period of The Hellenic Revolution against the Ottomans in 1821 AD .

The name of our magazine is " Eumenes " and it's inspired by the name of Alexander's military secretary , who prooved to have considerable military talent , but he was betrayed by his soldiers to his enemy , Antigonos Monophthalmos .
We publish one issue per three months .
In the first issue you'll read about our first championships , about the running campaigns , our news and some very interesting articles .
In the second issue you'll read about the running championship and the running campaigns , about some statistics of our championships , our current news and more articles.
