This is a picture of one of the jousting knights as he is prepared for the competition to begin. A metal plate was bolted to his chest to prevent the lance from sliding up and catching him in the neck. We were sitting at one end of the arena. Not the best seats for watching the joust, but pretty good for picture taking.
