Worked closely
with M&S suppliers, including one-month placement in the
Indonesian garment production site and two-week placement in the
fabric supplier’s mills.
*
Researched
and sourced the high-twist viscose filament fabrics for the M&S Collection
Range and Bloomingdale's USA. The sourced fabric successfully
replaced the previous German fabric and cut the material cost up to
70%.
*
Researched
and developed the best route of manufacturing M&S yarn-dyed
boxer shorts in Indonesia. The project, which covered the
development from yarn-dyed fabrics, trims, elastics to garment
manufacturing route, has reached the mature stage where order is
ready to be placed.

Researched
and compiled a comprehensive report of Indonesian basic weft knitted
fabrics, including the key manufacturers, photographs of the
facilities, fabric library, and technical-commercial analysis and
price comparisons.

Researched
and suggested to Dorma, Coats Viyella’s subsidiary, the best route
for supplying greige bed sheet fabrics from Indonesia. The project
is now being followed up.

Researched
and compiled a report of the structure of Indonesian garment
industry.
*
Recommended the most potential and
prospective lingerie (fabric & garment) manufacturers in
Indonesia. Assisted and accompanied Coats Viyella’s fabric
specialist, senior designers and purchasing manager to the proposed
manufacturers.

Researched
and sourced stretch woven fabrics from Indonesia for mens casual
shirts (Dept T25).
*
Worked
closely with BASF UK and the mill technologists for the first T25’s
stretch fabric order.
*
Inspected
T25’s first bulk order prior to delivery in order to ensure that
M&S was obtaining the correct fabric.
*
Improved the Fabric Database, which is based in Ms
Access, in M&S Lab Danliris, Indonesia.
